After a harrowing escape, Ana settles alone in a quiet village where no one knows her past or her reputation. The last thing she ever expects is to meet her mysterious savior again...

Niall MacCurran is no hero, but a warrior on a dangerous mission to expose a threat to the realm. After his decision to free Ana, he now realizes that it is he who needs her help—willing or no—to advance his quest. But his growing feelings for the delicate yet resilient beauty soon jeopardize their safety—and not even Ana’s healing gifts may be enough to protect their love, or their lives.

Excerpt from Taming a Wild Scot

Niall woke to the sound of a barely discernible whimper.

It was still dark in the hut, and his right arm felt as if a thousand pins were poking his flesh. Ana lay in his arms, her sweet form fitted perfectly to his, but her sleep was not restful. A shudder rocked her body, and she murmured something unintelligible. Something that sounded like a protest.

He frowned.

Was she reliving the night he’d abandoned her in the forest? The night she’d been chased by a Lochurkie guard and injured her head? That scar would forever serve as a reminder of how he’d failed her.

“Nay,” Ana murmured, jerking.

He gathered her closer, ignoring the uncomfortable heaviness of his arm and the voice in his head that called her enemy. “Hush, lass. You’re safe. The wretch is long gone.”

She collapsed against his chest with a sigh, and Niall felt a moment’s satisfaction. But then she gripped his forearm, her nails digging deeply, and she cried quite distinctly, “Mother! Oh, gods, nay! Nay!”

The last word extended into a low keen of despair and Niall felt her pain vibrate though his body. Unfamiliar with the ways of comforting a woman, he simply continued to hold her tight, all the while gently rubbing her back and kissing the top of her head.

Eventually, the nightmare faded. The stiffness left her limbs and her breathing evened.

Niall held her until he was certain she had regained a peaceful slumber, and then he eased from her side and rolled off the bed.Hellfire. He’d known it would be a mistake to touch her, but he hadn’t guessed just how serious it would be. Holding her in his arms had felt unbelievably right, like a gaping hole in his gut had been filled.

Flexing his hand to revive it, he studied the woman on the mattress, trying with all his might to harden his heart. She wasnot the bonnie, courageous lass he insisted on seeing. Everything pointed to her involvement in the devastation of his clan—her presence in Duthes, her knowledge of poisons, her survival against unbelievable odds—so why did he continue to desire her with all the fury of a Highland tempest?

It made no sense.

He was generally impervious to the wiles of women.

But from the moment he first laid eyes on her, something about Ana had stirred him. Rescuing her had not been his intent, but once he looked down upon her beautiful, bone-thin face, he’d been unable to turn away. And afterward, as they ran for the forest, her quiet determination to press on in spite of pain and weariness and trembling illness had impressed him no end. He knew big, strapping men who would have dropped under such conditions.

He turned away.

Damn, he was doing it again.

Our Review

I really enjoyed this story.I love reading about those Hunky Scottish Warriors.Loved all the characters they were engaging fierce and fun to read about .

This was a nice easy read.Isobel is determined to engage Laird Athdar attention any way she can. Athdar MacCallum's past luck with women has been nothing but bad luck to the point he thinks he is cursed so he swears off all involvement with women who might lead him astray.Isobel is not to be put off and will do anything she can to win the heart of the warrior she has always loved.

Athdar would have to be one of my favorite characters. He was kind and gentle when warranted and fierce and determined all rolled up into one.You feel for his character as we realized how much he really does like Isobel and maybe even half in love with her but fights his feelings for her as he does not want to be responsible for another wife or women attached to him because they end up dying.

Isobel is young and determined and a clever little chit. She engages the help of the Lairds wife (Athdar's sister) and her mother to help to win her man.Isobel was a sweet and kind lass but had a extremely clever mind and immediately plans her attack on her fierce warrior.

This was really a engaging story.A little bit of romance with mystery and danger floating about.Isobel really made me like her a lot.Her personality was infectious .Not only that but anyone who met her fell half in love with her.She really made with story fun to read as she had a larger then life personality. This couple had slightly rocky start but Isobel is determined to get what she wants. She was clever enough to unearth a dangerous plot that involves the people that she loves and cares about one that was in the making for many years.I was rooting for this couple from the beginning hoping that Athdar would give in to his stubbornness so that he might find his one true love and mate.

I really enjoyed this story and have learned it is part of a series and plan to go back and read the previous books in its series.I really enjoy Terri's books she has a fan in me.Would recommend this book to others if you are looking for and engaging tale not overly done !

His Captive (MacGruders #1) by Diana Cosby

His Captive (MacGruders, #1)His Captive by Diana Cosby

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

With a wastrel brother and a treacherous former fiancé, Lady Nichola Westcott hardly expects the dangerously seductive Scot who kidnaps her to be a man of his word. Though Sir Alexander MacGruder promises not to hurt her, Nichola's only value is as a pawn to be ransomed.

Alexander's goal is to avenge his father's murder, not to become entangled with the enemy. But his desire to keep Nichola with him, in his home—in his bed—unwittingly make her a target for those who have no qualms about shedding English blood.

Now Nichola is trapped—by her powerful attraction to a man whose touch shakes her to the core. Unwilling and unable to resist each other, can Nichola and Alexander save a love that has enslaved them both?

My thoughts & Review

This was a cute fast read but not much substance would have like to see more of a plot. Its about a kidnapping of a Lords sister who they plan to ransom. The characters of this story are drawn to each other right from the beginning.Although both parties try to fight this attraction to each other as they are suppose to be enemies.I found myself laughing a lot throughout the book Nichola antics while being held prisoner we hilarious.I found the tender hear Ted Alexander to be endearing his love and attraction for Nicola was a surprise to see for a harden Highland warrior.Found Alexander to be a noble warrior in his decision on choosing between his family and Nicola turned out to be the right one even if it was a hard choice and tore his heart out in doing so.Look forward to catching up on the other books in the series.I new author added to a list of growing new comers for me.

My Thoughts.....

Lynn  never ceases to amaze me with her books. Enjoyed this story very much. Her series has been amazing really. Like the fact that all the character intertwine in all her books. The best parts for me were at every turn Zach kept being amazed himself as to all those people who were time travelers weather from the past or the present and not even realizing it made me laugh with the shock he got  from meeting people from the future living in the past and vice- versa.Loved Zach and Mary's story, laugh's at every turn.
