Audiobook Review for Call It Magic by Janet Chapman

Series
Setting
Maine (United States)

Welcome back to Spellbound Falls, Maine where love is the greatest magic of all...

Katy MacBain moved to Spellbound Falls with secrets she plans to keep. The newest member of the Fire and Rescue Team, she disappeared for three weeks before arriving on the job. She doesn't understand why Gunnar Wolfe the town's interim fire chief and her boss seems determined to uncover the truth of what happened to her during that time. Or why she's more attracted to him than she's ever been to any other man.

A confident firefighter, Gunnar Wolfe doesn't give up and he's resolved to find out what's wrong with the mysterious and beautiful Katy. Since she is the newest member of his team, he's naturally protective of her, but he's surprised to find himself captivated by the tenacious and talented woman who is so...magical.

This was a beautiful love story full of magic and wonderful characters. Some characters shone brighter than others.

Those big, burly, protective Scots added humor to this plot. Kadie is going through a trying time. The moment she meets Gunner, she is drawn toward him immediately, and in her heart of hearts, we believe she already knew they were soulmates.

Kadie was a sweetheart of a character, genuine, kind, loving, and magical, someone who doesn't like to see others in pain and spreads happiness wherever she goes. Gunner was great, and we loved all those moments when he looked dazed and confused, yet went along with the flow.

This heartfelt emotional romance goes straight to the heart of the reader. There were tons of moments where you went "oh" and "ooh," and other times moments between characters were fun and engaging, especially when Katie was in pissed-off mode; those were downright hilarious, also many heart-melting moments.

Hey guys its Jessica. Sorry, I’ve been MIA for so long. I apologize for the long overdue wait for Janet’s next book. You’ve all been very patient and loyal fans that she loves. She has been working on this book over the last year and a half while dealing with her battle with cancer. It saddens me to say that she peacefully lost this battle this past weekend while her family was by her side. I apologize if this feels sudden. She was a very private person, even to her family. And she truly thought of all of you as her family. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Just in time for spooky season, a dazzling new cozy romantasy following three sea witch sisters by USA Today bestselling author Molly Harper!

As the middle sister in a trio of sea witches, Cora Seaworth has spent most of her life hidden away at her family’s magical cottage on Moonshadow Cove. She’s claimed her own corner of the library, cozied up with her favorite novels and a ghost cat named Nicodemus. She’s the deep thinker among her more tempestuous sisters, so she isn’t prepared to be swept up in a real-life romantic adventure in the form of sexy local baker Iggy Galinsky.

Iggy is tired of his reputation as the Island’s unreliable charmer and a man of many talents but no true calling outside his family’s bakery. Sure, it’s mostly true, but it still hurts his feelings. His carefree life gets serious fast when he meets the beautiful, mysterious Cora Seaworth. Before long, they’re working together with Cora’s sisters, various ghosts and the unfathomable creature lurking at the bottom of the cove to defeat an ancient enemy. If they don’t prevail, it’s not just their love that’s at stake, but Starfall Point’s entire magical community.

We thoroughly enjoyed listening to this paranormal rom-com by Molly Harper. The story is set on an island in Lake Huron and follows Cora, one of the sea witch sisters, who resides in a magical cottage on a secluded part of the island. The island is teeming with friendly ghosts and two covens of good witches. Cora and her sisters are entrusted with a mysterious egg hidden in the bay, waiting to hatch.

The plot unfolds as Cora crosses paths with Iggy, the town baker, and his lovable but mischievous dog. Their chemistry was beautiful and sweet. Their encounter leads to a charming and humorous romance amidst the backdrop of a brewing conflict with a group of adversaries seeking the egg for their own nefarious purposes.

The story had an interesting plot, and we loved the romance between Iggy and Cora. It was super sweet. The paranormal theme and the island's magic added to the mystery of the story's plot and its characters, and we found the characters to be lovable. The nickname that Cora gave the hatching made us smile every time she used it.

Overall, the book offers a delightful blend of whimsical elements, romance, and suspense, making it a charming and enjoyable read.

Release Blast & Review for A FATE OF ICE AND LIES Y. Maria

A FATE OF ICE AND LIES

Y. Maria

Release Date: May 21

Will be available in Kindle Unlimited

The stories are true, and they’re nothing like the fairy tales I grew up reading.

An endless winter came for all of us, leaving us at the mercy of dragons and fae who took charge of our world. They say they aren’t our enemies, but their actions prove otherwise.

Except one . . . Elias. He’s a kernel of humanity in someone who isn’t. A flicker of light in our now dying world. His heart calls to mine.

That is, until I learn of his deceptions, and it changes everything.
Where he once risked it all to save me, all I hear are the truths he kept from me. All I feel is the severance of our fated bond.

Elias may be the fae prince of some faraway kingdom, but I’m no damsel in distress who falls in love with the man who lied his way into my heart.

Where do we begin with our thoughts on this plot, its story, and its characters? To be honest, we initially struggled with the story. We found ourselves picking up and putting down the book several times as it failed to fully engage us, despite some intriguing elements. However, we did appreciate the cast of characters, particularly the Dragon and Fae bonding dynamic. Elias' loyal friends, whom he considered family, stood by him through thick and thin, showcasing unwavering loyalty and making us love them even more. While the first half of the story may have been challenging to get into, the second half proved to be exciting and captivating, with secrets unraveling, enemies lurking at every corner, and soulmates overcoming obstacles to fall in love.

The characters truly shone in this story, especially
Elia's' dragon, whose protective love was palpable. The chemistry between Teddy and Elias was powerful and endearing, making them a beautiful couple. Teddy's protectiveness, quick wit,  banter, and altruistic nature added depth to her character, while Elias' deadly skills and unwavering devotion to his loved ones made him a compelling protagonist. If you're anything like us, you may find you adding Elias to your list of book boyfriends.

The latter part
of the story had us completely engrossed, unable to put the book down. The revelations, truths, and emotional turmoil that the characters faced as the story unfolded were gripping and life-changing. The inclusion of characters from different species added an extra layer of excitement to the narrative.

We eagerly anticipate what come
s next, as the ending left us wanting more. While some answers and a semblance of justice were provided, there are still lingering enemies pulling the strings and causing chaos. The unresolved questions of who and why keep us eagerly awaiting the next installment. Until next time ... #StayTuned

Meet Y. Maria:

While I wasn’t born with a pen or book in my hand, it feels as if I’ve loved to write and read since forever. Now that I live in Texas, my favorite place to do either is in front of my fireplace. When I’m not reading or writing, you can find me hiking or exploring small towns with my husband and kids.

I love anything romance. Seriously, give me all the kissing books. But there’s something magical about diving deep into my imagination where dragons and fae exist. So, I guess you can say I’m in my romantasy era

Release Blast & Review for Whispers of the Dragon by Sarah Brianne

WHISPERS OF THE DRAGON

Sarah Brianne

Release Date: January 27

There's only one dragon born every generation to protect their people. In reward for their protection, they are given a fated mate. But she must be found and mated before the last cherry blossom falls, or Ryu may just be the last of his kind.

This story was cute the characters were engaging and likable. Ryu is destined to find his mate and there is a time limit before all is lost for himself and his people. The mate he seeks is broken and damaged. We enjoyed this story it had a bit of suspense & mystery to it along with those paranormal vibes.

We loved how Ryu was with Eira patient and kind and sometimes firm but in a positive way. Eira for the first time has felt safe in the presence of another man other than her grandfather. We wished there was a bit more to their story before chaos ensued but, regardless of that it was still a light fun read and had a twist to the Ryu's family history as a dragon that was different than anything we had seen before which turned into a bit of a surprise not expected. We loved seeing Eira blossom throughout the story she is smarter than people give her credit.

Meet Sarah Brianne:

Hey! My name is Sarah Brianne and after living for
twenty-two years the characters in my head told me enough was enough and I have finally put pen to paper (or is it finger to keyboard?) to tell their stories. Since I was a little girl I have watched every chick flick I could get my hands on, then when I became older I discovered a whole new world of romance novels.

To me there is nothing better then a tale of true love and those are the stories that have inspired me to write.

Like everything else in my life I have put my own spin on two lovers destined to be together.
