His Captive (MacGruders #1) by Diana Cosby

His Captive (MacGruders, #1)His Captive by Diana Cosby

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

With a wastrel brother and a treacherous former fiancé, Lady Nichola Westcott hardly expects the dangerously seductive Scot who kidnaps her to be a man of his word. Though Sir Alexander MacGruder promises not to hurt her, Nichola's only value is as a pawn to be ransomed.

Alexander's goal is to avenge his father's murder, not to become entangled with the enemy. But his desire to keep Nichola with him, in his home—in his bed—unwittingly make her a target for those who have no qualms about shedding English blood.

Now Nichola is trapped—by her powerful attraction to a man whose touch shakes her to the core. Unwilling and unable to resist each other, can Nichola and Alexander save a love that has enslaved them both?

My thoughts & Review

This was a cute fast read but not much substance would have like to see more of a plot. Its about a kidnapping of a Lords sister who they plan to ransom. The characters of this story are drawn to each other right from the beginning.Although both parties try to fight this attraction to each other as they are suppose to be enemies.I found myself laughing a lot throughout the book Nichola antics while being held prisoner we hilarious.I found the tender hear Ted Alexander to be endearing his love and attraction for Nicola was a surprise to see for a harden Highland warrior.Found Alexander to be a noble warrior in his decision on choosing between his family and Nicola turned out to be the right one even if it was a hard choice and tore his heart out in doing so.Look forward to catching up on the other books in the series.I new author added to a list of growing new comers for me.

My Thoughts...

Wow what a hot book from beginning to end. Enjoyed the story it was fast paced and interesting and boy there was sexual through the whole book between Sabine and Rydstrom. Sabine sets out to trap and seduce Rydstorm the Demon King. She needs to become his wife and bear his heir in order to fulfill and prophecy . She imprisons Rydstrom in his own dungeon and sets out to seduce him. But, he is fighting her tooth and nail. But, his willpower is being tested and he finds himself losing the willpower to fight her at all.Being attractive to Sabine is definitely a problem they are fighting on different side her side killing his people over power of the throne and the most powerful ruler of them all. Sabine is in league with her brother doing his bidding to Sabine becoming Queen and begetting a heir. But she is being torn as she finds she is falling in love with her demon after all and is torn about what to do fulfill the prophecy or become Queen of the Demon King and forgo her plans. But the Demon Kings has plans of his own as he escapes captivity and makes Sabine his prisoner. He wants revenge for keeping him locked in a dungeon for three days. He sets out to keep her sexually frustrated and on edge for the next three days and boy what fun that is going to be. His heart loses it taste for revenge an slowly falls head of heals for is captive and wowing to protect her at all cost and making her his Queen and fighting there common enemies along they way ! My thoughts...
Well not one to go on a rip and author apart but I have to say that this book was not my cup of tea and leave it at . I found myself losing interest in this book. I love Heather she is one of the reasons that I have a fondness for reading. But, I have to say that in my opinion Heather is a  better writer when writing romance books then paranormal books as those are all in my library and I miss that side of her. But, I know that as and author they are told what to write these days so I am not giving up will just try another and she what happens....

This was quite an interesting story.I give a lot of credit to this young girl for sharing her story and speaking out. I have to say that after reading this story I feel as though that these leaders think they are above the law and that they can do whatever they want and get away with it. They are nothing but a bunch of pedophiles thinking its there right to get away with there sick ways. There needs to be government regulations put in place for these organizations , they are just brainwashing both men and women and abusing women and children.I don't fault anyone for choosing a religion they believe in and its there right on how they choose to live your life but at some point being intelligent people that we are we know what is right and wrong and once you cross that line you become a criminal just as much as those in charge and are responsible for your actions and no god or religion are not asking these horrible things of you. No religion is worth hurting another and causing them pain and watching innocent women  and children being raped and thinking its okay!!!! and that if you interfere you will be punished and won't go to heaven and that not the risk your willing to take. Well after being a participant you don't deserve to go to heaven you will be going to hell instead.Any religion that can take a husbands wives away from them and give them to another in a blink because you weren't up to snuff or ticked someone off in a heartbeat and have no say over your women and children  you have to take a very hard look at yourself and say is this a religion i want to be part of because god does not put these restrictions on another human being and have this kind of control of another's life it is the person in charge making this shit up just to be more important and gaining wealth and having total control and being in power to abuse there followers and you are letting them !!!
More men and women in these kinds of sects need to breakaway and come forward to tell there stories so the unjust and be dealt with and I am glad this young girl had they guts to do it (leave the sect)not that it was easy in anyway as she had been brainwashed from the time she was a child if she didn't follow the rules she was not going to heaven and all her siblings that we still in there worrying that the members would be abusing her younger sisters because of her actions and also worrying that the rape that was done to her would be done to her sisters to carry this on ones shoulders at 14 years of age is such a great burdened just a child still having to deal with all of this and by the time she was sixteen had 3 miscarriages because she was repeatedly raped and it was her husband right.I hope this story inspires others like her to breakaway....
