Audiobook Review for Last Day of My Life by Lani Lynn Vale

Last Day of My Life: Freebirds Series, Book 4 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

She's the definition of lost. Doesn't know her name? Check. Cruelly beaten within an inch of her life? Check. No memory of anything that's happened since she woke up from that beating? Check. Losing a child she doesn't remember conceiving? Check. She hasn't felt anything but lost in a very long time. Then an old biker tells her danger is on the horizon. He sends her to a man that she instantly feels a connection with. A bone deep connection.

Him

He's the definition of despair. After the death of his young wife while on a tour of duty in Afghanistan, he hasn't seen the appeal of participating in the world around him. He's lost the only thing he ever loved. He's been a shell of the man he once was. His only escape from reality is feeling the wind in his hair, going as fast as he can get his old Harley to take him. That's the only time he can push his demons back far enough to feel peace. That is until she screams his name.

Contains mature themes.

Loved this one! Packed with so much emotion and pain and time wasted but, also a miracle. This is a highly emotional story filled with so much sadness, heartache, characters left brokenhearted, and a story that will rip your heart out. Have some tissues nearby.

Winter & Jack met years ago when young and married young but, even then Jack knew Winter was his forever girl. While away and enlisted Jack learns of his wife's violent death you can only imagine the guilt regret and heartbreak the man has been carrying around. Jack is pretty much a walking corpse at this point until a beautiful woman walks into his life once again.

Winter's life story is heartbreaking and painful and she suffers from Amenisa but, meeting Jack she feels a connection to the man she is not sure why but, her heart knows him even if she doesn't.

There is so much that went on in this story secrets coming to life, and their reuniting should have been a happy one but, there are nothing but, roadblocks in their way. The story was full of suspense so much so you could not put it down. The story will make you cry, having you root for Winter & Jack to find their way back to one another and demand justice and truth for this couple. The betrayals have you shaking your head. There were even some OMG! moments. Awesome story with wonderful characters. This story is the type of story that has you thinking about it and mulling things over in your head even hours later and one not easily forgotten.

Seventy shades of messed up.

That was what she’d been told about herself for nearly her entire life.

From a young age, she knew what it was like to be hated. To be loathed so much by a person that they literally resented the air you breathed.

For her entire childhood, she fought to live, despite her father’s constant effort to make her life a living hell.

Her sisters and brother have no clue what kind of closet psychopath their father really was, and she’ll die before she ruins their picture-perfect view of him.

Why? Because she’s already broken. There’s no fixing this kind of damage. But there’s no reason everyone else needs to suffer, too.

From the moment Hannibal Peters laid eyes on Hades Singh, he knew she was the one.

That was why he ran.

That was why, when he saw her suffering, he couldn’t stay away.

This current tale with Hannibal & Hades has become my favorite couple in this series. Having gotten to know Hades in previous books there is more to the woman than meets the eye and also more complicated than we have seen in previous books. Our hearts broke for Hades her story was devasting to hear and it amazes me that with all those siblings no one saw what was beyond the surface, especially her twin.

Hannibal & Hade were a match made in heaven for each other. They had amazing chemistry and were explosive together in and out of bed. Loved how kind and gentle Hannible was a man who always had Hades's back from the moment they met.

Love the connection between this couple and the easiness of it. Hannible family welcomed Hades with open arms and well as Hannibal's friends and colleagues were her fierce protectors & defenders.

The story was filled with mystery suspense love and laughter and amazing friendships. The story unpacked a lot of sadness and pain when it came to Hade's life but through it all, she found healing and love and found her happy ever after.
