Sophie Perez has never believed the stuff she

reads online about possible life in space. Aliens

are for the movies, for the weirdoes, and they

most definitely are not real
.
One night on the way home from a late shift at

work, her car breaks down. Stranded on the

side of a country road, with a dead cell phone,

doesn’t seem like that big of a deal
.
Until strange neon lights appear in the sky. She

 thinks it is her imagination.

When an inexplicable circular ship appears

overhead, she can’t deny what’s clearly right

in front of her. Especially when moments later,

she’s taken onto the ship, a human hostage

among those who are most definitely not

human
.
About to become a human guinea pig, possibly

worse, the last thing she ever expects is to like

the things these otherworldly beings subject

her to. In fact, it is unlike anything she’s ever

 experienced.

Will Sophie find her way back to her planet, or

will she beg to stay where her pleasure is

 literally out of this world?

Tonya's Review

Distant Desires – Part 1 by Cambria Hebert –

Shining Stars

I am sure those of you that follow my blog

know that I have read just about every single

book of Cambria’s. Yup I love her writing

 that

much. But those are romantic, ooohy, gooey

, suspense filled, action packed books. So when

she put out this new book Distant Desires and

 I

read the blurb I thought “what she is writing

about aliens – really”

Well let me tell you something – READ THIS

BOOK!!!!! It is stellar, it is exciting, it is make

you wonder just what it might be like – yes I

went there. OMG I mean hello if all beings

from another world could do what this one can

I am game for sure. LOL :P

That said Sophie girl wow, I am glad you chose

the “remember” instead of the “forget” option

. Sophie seems like your ordinary girl, working

her dead end job, with friends and a guy she

has crushed on forever, living her life day by

day…. Then suddenly everything she always

thought was not possible was right in front of

her eyes and before she knew it she was on one

 heck of a ride.

I could not put this book down. Okay well I did

I had no choice or I would have had no sleep

but you could read this in one sitting so be

prepared when you pick this up – you will be

pulled in and wanting to find out just what

this mysterious (and I am going to go out on a

ledge here and say Stunning) other worldy

being is going to do to Sophie and what

happens.

Oh yes this is a cliff hanger book lol so if you

don’t like those just be prepared – it is very

well worth it. Cambria spins an amazing story

here and draws you to the edge and is going to

leave you dangling, waiting for the line to pull

you up and into the next part.

***This is a new adult contemporary novel and contains sexual content and graphic language. It is not intended for young adult readers.***

One text can change everything.
Honor Calhoun never thought her life would ever be like the books she writes for a living. One morning while out for a run, she learns not all bad things are plots in novels. Some horrors can actually come true.
She faces off with a persistent attacker, holds her own, but in the end is taken hostage and thrown into a hole. In the middle of the woods.
But Honor didn’t go down there alone.
She took her kidnapper’s phone with her. With a spotty signal and a dying battery, her hope is slim.
Nathan Reed is an active duty Marine stationed at a small reserve base in Pennsylvania. All he wants is a calm and uneventful duty station where he can forget the memories of his time in a war-torn country.
But a single text changes everything.
Nathan becomes Honor’s only hope for survival, and he has to go against the clock, push aside his past, and take on a mission for a girl he’s never met.
Both of them want freedom… but they have to survive long enough to obtain it.

Our Review

“Wait for the person who pursues you, the one who will make an ordinary moment seem magical, the kind of person who brings out the best in you and makes you want to be a better person. Wait for the person who will be your best friend, the only person who will drop everything to be with you at any time no matter what the circumstances” - Author Unknown

Oh I loved reading that - Cambria always has a way with finding the perfect phrase or quote to start her books and this one - this one gives me hope again - that maybe just maybe….

Honor Calhoun is an author - well isn't that just a quink-a-dink - LOL out for a typical run when she is snatched and beaten, kicked and punched and tossed in a hole. But this girl has brains she gets a hold of the kidnappers phone and takes it down into the hole with her.

Nathan is a Marine and after a long week, and in attempts to hide painful memories is out for a game of cards with the guys waiting for one of them to arrive with the cold beer. The golden elixir that washes away those memories at least for a time.

An unexpected text sends Nathan on a frantic search for Honor, before the kidnapper returns. with only her text’s to guide him. Worse yet, the phone she is texting from, well, lets just say someone you least expect or not…

I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I read this book. OMG new adult contemporary romance - hello add in mystery, thriller, edge of your seat suspense. Nail bitter all the way to the end. I absolutely LOVED this book and I think by far it is my favorite out of the 4 in this series so far. CAMBRIA I bow to your awesomeness!!!! LOL :)

Yes, yes you know that he does find her of course, but not before the kidnapper gets back to her and does quiet a bit of damage to her. I love how he cradles her like a small kitten in his sexy rock hard abs (OMG this man is delish!!!) Yes I was drooling over my kindle, I think I heard it short circuit a few times - Cambria I love how your mind works - this is my new book boyfriend. Beyond swoon worthy.

I love the playful banter that Nathan and Honor have between each other even in the midst of everything. Knowing the kidnapper is still on the loose and they are his prey they manage to have this amazing draw to each other.

“You like hot wings, Honor?” he asked like it was the most important thing he needed to know.
“Who doesn't?”
“Nice,” he drawled. He had quite the southern accent going. Every time he talked, I felt a little giddy and I hung on every word he said. I was waiting for him to drop his first “y’all.”
“All right,” he said, gesturing to my shirt. “Lift it up. Let’s see it.”
“You suck at foreplay.”
He caught my wrist in his oversized palm and towed me a little closer. His face came close to mine, so close that I was able to see that he had blue eyes and a scar across one of his cheeks.
“That, sweetheart, was not foreplay. When we get to that, you’ll damn well know it.”
Well, alrighty then.
Shamelessly, I wondered when we might get to the foreplay.

You go girl - forget that you got a kidnapper out there wanting to kill not just you now but that hot stud muffin of a Marine that rescued you. LOL That is what I am talking about. LOL - I really do love the chemistry between Honor and Nathan - its is tender, hot, sweet, sexy, pulling, explosive.

“So what’s the plan?”“The plan is to get moving, work our way to the road.”“It’s dark. How will we know which direction to go?”I was insulted. “Sweetheart,” I drawled. “I was trained for this. I could find my way out of a pig’s ass.” “How the hell would you get into a pig’s ass?” “Exactly.” She snorted. It wasn't very ladylike. It was cute as hell. “You make no sense.” “You’re going to make me into one of the characters in your next book, aren't you?” I couldn't help but tease her. “Yes. He’s going to have no teeth and one eye.”I chuckled. “Wow, you got good eyesight. I was hoping the dark would disguise my ugly ass ‘til morning.” “Whatever,” she tossed out.

Okay I just had to share more because I just loved that part I was reading this at my desk at work on break and busted out laughing - okay no I snorted so loud then laughed. I mean this is just classic and so made the book.

Slowly Honor learns about Nathan’s past, his pain, what haunts him. What keeps him awake at night, and terrorizes his dreams. And Nathan having been there, done that, knows what Honor is going to be going through. They both seem to “complete” each other, and together they kick some serious butt, teach that kidnapper a lesson for sure. And help each other begin to heal from their painful memories.

I will be completely honest I so DID NOT WANT THIS BOOK TO END… I so wanted to keep reading about Honor and Nathan I fell in love with these characters. Excellent book.

**This is a new adult contemporary novel and contains sexual content and graphic language. It is not intended for young adult readers.***

Stranded and alone with not one, but two wickedly enticing men.

Ava arrives at the airport, expecting to board a commercial flight to Puerto Rico. But a plane ticket isn’t waiting for her. Instead, she finds a guy with dark curly hair wearing seriously ratty jeans and holding a sign with her name on it.

He may not look like a pilot, but he is. And he’s her ride.

So now it’s just Nash and her on a tiny tin can of a plane flying over the Atlantic. When a thunderstorm comes out of nowhere, it proves to be too much for the little aircraft.

Ava and Nash plunge from the sky and end up on an uncharted deserted island.

Stranded.

As if that isn’t bad enough, Ava starts to desire more than just rescue—hunger for more than food. Nash is only too happy to oblige… but it seems they might not be as alone as they thought.

And Nash might have some competition in claiming Ava’s body… and her heart.

Our Book Review

Oh Cambria girl you have done it yet again I am so in love with all the books from the “Take It Off Series” and Tempt is just another great one in this series. I mean come on a beautiful woman stranded on an island with two hot men. Phew that is a girls fantasy right there.

Nash the hottie who flew in from Puerto Rico to pick up Ava to take her to where her grandmother wanted her ashes spread. And Duke who was already stranded on the island before the plane Nash and Ava were flying in crashed. WOW. The sparks flew almost from the start on this one.

‘Stranded and alone with not one but two wickedly enticing men.’

Now that is what I am talking about, what a way to start a book off. And leave it to Cambria to grab you and pull you in right from the very start.

Stranded.

As if that isn’t bad enough, Ava starts to desire more than just rescue-hunger for more than food. Nash is only too happy to oblige… but it seems they might not be as alone as they thought.

And Nash might have some competition in claiming Ava’s body… and her heart.

Now if that isn’t a TEASE of what is to come – bring it Cambria – I am ready. Oh am I ready. I mean Nash, oh lord he could do all of the things he does to Ava to me any day of the week. And Duke too!! LOL

This book has everything, sex, tears, sex, laughter, sex, tense moments, sex, sex oh did I say sex. But it has more than that, the story line is superb as always, the characters are amazing. I just loved Ava. I will say Nash was my favorite character. I just fell in love with him the moment Ava meets him in the airport. His quick wit, charm, charisma, and just down right sexy self won me over and stole my heart. He is beyond swoon worthy for me. I mean Spanish accent, golden tan, tall, dark hair, sexy eyes, hot to the touch… yeah girls come on you know you are rushing to get the book now to see just what I am talking about.

The scenes in this book can get downright hot I tell you – you need a lot of fans, ice cubes, wet rags, etc for some of these ladies. You think I am kidding here a small peak just because I figure the book is called TEASE for a reason so why not do a little teasing of my own.

He was like a drug. An addiction. His fingers were my dealer and his lips were my poison. I lived for my next fix, the next time his knuckles would graze the softness of my inner thigh, the next time he would gently scrape his fingernails across my lower abdomen and then delve into my soft curls at the apex of my hips.

Like I said – TEASE and there is a lot more where that came from. Cambria has such a great way with writing that you are drawn into the story. Close your eyes, you are there, you feel the emotion, the heat, the moment. I can’t get enough of these books.

I couldn’t put this book down. I mean Ava and Nash were connected almost from the start, drawn to each other and of course a bad situation brings them closer together, then toss in another guy Duke, and things just get all churned up. Being stranded on an island with no way to get off and no hope of anyone finding them. And then you find out there is danger out there on top of that. I was rushing to get to the next page, to find out if Ava and Nash seal the deal, or does Ava give in to Duke. OR BOTH!!. Does the danger on the other side get them, what happens.

Go get your own copy I am so not telling you how this one ends. I am off to read TEXT now. LOL

If you can’t take the heat… stay away from the flame.

Katie Parks has been on her own since the age of fifteen. All she’s ever wanted is a place to call her own—a life that is wholly hers that no one can take away. She thought she finally had it, but with the strike of a single match, everything she worked so hard for is reduced to a pile of smoking ash. And she almost is too.

Now she’s being stalked by someone who’s decided it’s her time to die. The only thing standing in the path of her blazing death is sexy firefighter Holt Arkain.

Katie’s body might be safe with Holt… but her heart is another story.

As the danger heats up, sparks fly and the only thing Katie knows for sure is that her whole life is about to go up in flames.

Our Review

What can I say but yet another reason why I love author Cambria Hebert so much. I fell in love with this book as soon as the hero fire fighter walked through the fire to save the girl. Of course I did not see the tossing her in the pool coming but hey as he said "you were on fire"... yes "there was that!" Oh the banter in this book between Katie (aka katie cat and mostly freckles) is absolutely hilarious.

Who couldn't love Katie, sweet, innocent, but very let it all fly out of the mouth Katie. Poor dear someone is trying to kill her, she has no idea why, no where to turn, no one for support, except you guessed it the hero fire fighter Holt. Yeah he can be my hero any time... Just sayin'!

And Holt, gorgeous, hunky, chiseled, hot, sexy, delicious, large feet, steamy, are you getting my thinking here girls.... This man is swoon worthy with a capitol SW....

Just when you think things are finally going to settle down, boom everything explodes and Holt is saving the day again. Heck I think I would create stuff just so he could save me over and over. But I promise that isn't what is happening in here. Katie really does have a stalker bent on her death and the reason why was a really nice twist to a story.

If you want to find out who wants Katie dead and why, and if it is Katie or Holt who saves the other in the end hurry and get your copy of Torch you will love the read.
