Determined MBI (Magickal Bureau of investigations) agent Alex Denopoulos will stop at nothing to catch a killer, including recruit notorious felon, Willow McCray to work for the agency. The lines between duty and passion become blurred the more time he spends with the sultry witch. In the midst of the investigation, they succumb to the dark edges of desire, placing both their lives in danger. Alex will risk more than his badge to keep her alive. Kick-ass witch Willow must use her powers for good if she wants to stay out of Hellios, a mage prison for those who have broken the Wiccan Rede of ‘Harm ye None.’ Willow never expects to fall so hard for Alex, a mortal with a penchant for justice and a deep seated hatred of witches. Though a future together seems impossible, she doesn’t want to let him go. Can she vanquish the evil surrounding them and give Alex her mind and body before she loses her heart and maybe her soul?

excerpt

Willow took a sip of her margarita and glanced down at Alex’s big hands, tanned and sprinkled with a smattering of dark hair. Funny, she never found a man’s hands sexy. Suddenly her mind filled with images of Alex trailing those big, masculine hands over her body. She wondered if he fit the stereotype. Big hands, big… “You never did answer my question. Are you considering taking me up on my offer?” The sound of his voice pulled her from a host of fantasies. Willow dug her nails into her palm to get her head back in the game. She shouldn’t be thinking about this man in such a raw, sexual way. “Why not? My car’s parked in the back.” She probed through the nearby crowd to check if Alex came here with bodyguards. A virtual cacophony of conversations invaded her thoughts, but nothing about protection for Alex. Once she got him alone, she’d take her chances and pray she wouldn’t be outnumbered. “Then let’s get out of here. Unless of course I’ve got some competition.” He motioned over her shoulder to the incubus whose head now lolled forward over the bar. “I think you’re flying solo here.” She’d set her trap and let the consequences be damned. She rubbed her finger along the rim of the glass and licked off the salt. She lifted the glass to her lips, savoring the tangy flavor of margarita mix along with the zing of tequila as it slid down her throat. Headrush. No surprise there, she couldn’t remember the last time she’d slept or eaten in the past forty-eight hours, existing on a combination of raw nerves and pure adrenaline. “You missed a spot.” He ran his thumb along the seam of her lip. He put it to his mouth and licked. “Mmm, sweet.” Her plan didn’t involve foreplay…but damn he was hot. In another time and another place she would be seriously into this guy. Too bad I might have to kill him.

Angels with Attitude - Author Interview

What would you have done differently if you were the main character of your book?

My character was kicked out of the coven that she grew up in. She was wrongly accused of something she didn't do, and as a result, she was forced out onto the street at a young age. She was recruited by the kingpin of crime syndicate and was forced to so some very nasty things. I think I would've chosen her path. I would’ve waitressed, cleaned toilets. I don’t think I’d survive as a criminal. I just don't have it in me. lol

What was your inspiration behind this book?

Well many years ago I read an article in the newspaper about a serial killer from England who was young and handsome, a PhD student with his whole life ahead of him, but he was a sociopath. It was sort of a Jack the Ripper with a twist kind of story. I knew I had to write a book about it and use the heinousness of his crimes as the back drop, but in a fictionalized world. I was also inspired by the Harry Potter series and read all the fanfiction.

Why did you become a writer?

I had all these stories floating around in my head. It's a yearning really in the soul that’s always there.

Do you have a favorite author or authors?

So many, Kresley Cole, Emma Chase, Christina Lauren, Alice Clayton to name a few. She just accepted my friend request and I about fell over!

Do you like to write your books in a continuing series?

Yes. This is my first book and my first series. I'm working on book two about a medium who's forced to vanquish a vengeful spirit from a haunted inn, and in the process, she falls for the sexy inn keeper!

If you could date any character from any book, who would it be and why?

Hmm, that's a tough one. I would date Gideon Cross, that man is sex on a stick. I mean, he's too sexy to be real. God bless Sylvia Day! He’s gorgeous super-hot and scary smart. I would also love to date Christian Grey, and Bennett Ryan from Beautiful Bastard. I found him totally captivating in his arrogance, and very sexy. I also loved Finn from Dirty Rowdy Thing. He’s tall, masculine and knows how to please a woman, not to mention funny! And last but not least, I would fall madly in love with Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. He does it for me.

What kinds of books do you like to read in your spare time?

I love everything romance, paranormal, contemporary, and erotic of course. I love to read all genres though!

As a reader and writer I think it is important to get to know your fans and make a connection with them as an author who takes the extra step to hear what their fans think and want in their continued writing is continued success and key to selling more books. Do you agree with that?

Omg yes! I totally agree. I hope I have fans. Lol. The book just came out in November, so I think I have a few at this point. I’m totally humbled and grateful for the fantastic feedback and some great reviews on Amazon that I’ve gotten so far. But I need more! . I’ve also been asked to speak at two book groups so that’s exciting! I always say to readers, please give me your honest feedback. I want to be a great writer and keep improving my craft and give the fans what they want!

Do you cry when writing sad scenes?

I do. I’m a complete mush. I cry at commercials. You’re asking the wrong one. I’m a total sap.

Did you have a Cover Designer?

Yes her name is Alysse. She’s the cover designer from Ellora’s Cave and she’s fantastic. I love her!

Who is your fictional boyfriend or girlfriend crush?

In addition to the ones I’ve mentioned? lol. I have a crush on every one of the male heroes in Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series. These men are all pure Alpha with a capitol A. They’re hot, sexy, heroes that are extremely complex. I love every one of them, even Lothaire. He’s beyond sexy, arrogant and crazy, but so compelling you can’t help but fall for him.

If you were able to dine and have a one on one with your favorite writer/author who would it be?

Ernest Hemingway, Edgar Allen Poe, Jane Austin, Shakespeare. Then I would pick some contemporaries, like Alice Clayton, Emma Chase, and Sylvia Day. Those ladies look like they'd be fun to hang with too! I recently got to hang out with the lovely and talented Jennifer Probst at this past October’s NJRW conference. We’d met a few times before and have some mutual friends. We had cocktails together and my critique partner and I went to her workshop. I was blown away by her wit, and her humor. She’s also exceptionally kind, not to mention super real and grounded. Does that sound like a girl crush? lol She’s’ just such a doll! I was in awe and so grateful to have shared an evening with her.

Do just re-read your favorite books?

Yes all the time. I hope people will reread my books I can only hope and pray they do.
Do you ever get in a reading slump like your readers do? I do. I like to see what’s fresh out there. I’m doing a lot of swapping with other authors right now so my reading list is overflowing at the moment. I also have about 5 books loaded on my Nook that I haven’t gotten to. So I’m not in a slump at the moment! It’s great!

What is the funniest book you ever read?

Without a doubt Tangled by Emma Chase. That book was so funny I was reading it and laughing hysterically out loud. She has a gift for humor.
