Excerpt-
As Raven faded away, I turn to look at Chax. Although Chax was our leader, his short temper always seemed to doom a situation. His green eyes pierced mine as he regained his footing and pulled out his sword.
“There are more ways to deal with something than just force, Chax.” I smirked at him.
“Agreed, but not in Raven’s case.” Chax brought his sword in front of him, determined to get the weapon he needed to bring down Lucifer.
“She is still a fallen, and in my care. I will not let her be harmed in any way.” I stepped a little to the left, bringing my body to a perfect counter position.
“So, you choose her side rather than our cause?” Chax accused me.
“Please, I am not one of your little fallen apprentices. I chose the right path, the one without hurting an innocent girl.” I steadied the weight of my body on the balls of my feet, and secured my position.
“I migh-“ Chax was cut off by something crashing through my office wall.
“Where is she? Where is that hellhound?” an even more intoxicated Camael yelled while trying to stay upright.
“You have got to be kidding me!” At the sound of Chax’s pained words, my eyes flew in his direction, and I lifted my eyebrows at his statement.
He blushed a little. “Too much time with my mate,” he replied.
“I see,” I replied and caught Camael before his face ended up in my chair.
“What the hell are you doing, Camael?!” Chax replaced his sword and grabbed Camael on the other side.
“That hellhound needs a lesson in respect.” Camael’s words slurred with his heavy tongue.
“He needs to be healed, Chax. Is there no one who can help?” I was worried for my old friend; he was not doing well at all.
“No, not even the visits in heaven seem to be helping, although I might have an idea we can test.” Chax grabbed Camael on the shoulder and forced him to sit down. His head hung backwards as his dark eyes looked up and tried to focus on us.
“If it might work, we need to try it. He is unable to fulfill his duties in this state.” A bitter taste was left in my mouth. I didn’t like what I was seeing at all.
“What about Raven?” Chax asked.
“I will find her, and I will let her take me to him. The moment I have him in sight, I will notify all of you.” My eyes drifted to Chax.
“And you think that you will be able to persuade her to help us trap him?” Chax frowned.
“Yes, but she will not know that she is doing it. I will steer her the way we need her to go.” Chax nodded and grabbed hold of Camael.
“Do that then, but if you fail, it will be my way, Zadkiel.” He shifted out, taking Camael with him.

excerpt
I put my phone back in my back pocket. Crossing my arms, I looked up at the stars again. The night was devoid of clouds, unusual for spring. Golden stars glittered across the heavens, winking at me from the endless arch of the void and transporting me to a place of tranquillity. The peace of space poured into my soul. “What’s a Liam moment?” Kian’s gruff voice whispered. I felt his hot breath caress my ear. His closeness both startled me and sent a shiver down my spine. I straightened my back.
“I thought I told you I wasn’t interested.” I attempted to make my voice sound forceful, but it came out soft. I felt the heat from his body as he stepped closer to me.“What’s your name?” Kian asked. The gruffness of his voice from earlier had left. This new voice was smooth and flowed like poetry. My heart sped up and I heard the blood pulsing in my ears. I was sure he could hear it. What kind of Talent was he using to cause me to react this way?“Quit using your Talent on me,” I hissed. “I’m not. If I was, you’d know it,” he replied with a chuckle.
“Oh.” I didn’t understand what was happening. He placed a hand on my waist and the warmth was searing. I was sure it would leave a mark. My eyes closed and my breath deepened. Tingles flowed from his hand, spreading throughout my body and stirring something in my soul. I released a breath I didn’t realize I had been holding. “Take your hand off me and back away before I break your fingers.”Kian snickered. “Spunky.”“Creepy,” I replied.Kian chuckled again, his hot breath shooting sparks right to my stomach. “Don’t make me ask again.” I felt his hand tense. His fingers increased their pressure against my waist right before the coldness swept in as he removed his hand. I released the breath I was holding.

Angels with Attitude - Author Interview

What would you have done differently if you were the main character of your book?

I probably would have punched Kian the first time I met him and never look back.

What was your inspiration behind this book?

My son. I was driving the kids somewhere and my son started talking about super powers and how he would go back in time to save the dinosaurs. It got me thinking about meteorites. I asked myself a question: What if there was a meteorite out there with some kind of alien DNA that crashed to earth, changing those around them into a new class of human? BAM! Lost was born

Why did you become a writer?

It has always been something I wanted to do and growing up I thought it was the only think I was good at. Then I went to college and learned I wasn’t as good as I thought, but the desire never went away.

Do you have a favorite author or authors?

It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I have read and loved everything by Claire Farrell

Do you like to write your books in a continuing series?

I’ve written standalone books before, but I prefer a series.

If you could date any character from any book, who would it be and why?

Chase from The Shapeshifter Chronicles by Natasha Brown. He reminds me of my husband and all the reasons why I love him. Impatient, Kind, and loving.

What kinds of books do you like to read in your spare time?

I read mainly YA paranormal or science fiction.

As a reader and writer I think it is important to get to know your fans and make a connection with them as an author who takes the extra step to hear what their fans think and want in their continued writing is continued success and key to selling more books .Do you agree with that?

I do. I am not a social person by nature, but I do try to make a connection with readers. I love to hear what they liked and didn’t like about my books in order to be better for them.

Do you cry when writing sad scenes?

Not usually, but I did when writing Lost. I wasn’t expecting the scene to happen, but as I was writing it I begrudgingly knew it had to happen.

Did you have a Cover Designer?

Yes. Kari from Cover to Cover designs.

Who is your fictional boyfriend or girlfriend crush?

Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon. There is just something about a nerdy guy who is okay with his girl being strong and has her by his side during battles instead of asking her to stay behind him.

If you were able to dine and have a one on one with your favorite writer/author who would it be?

Claire Farrell

Do just re-read your favorite books?

The only books I have ever re-read where The Chronicles of Narnia.

Do you ever get in a reading slump like your readers do?

Yes, and it’s in those moments I get the most writing done.

What is the funniest book you ever read?

Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson

excerpt
I rush back up the dark stairwell, shoving the key into the doorknob. It takes a minute for the lock to click and I push myself inside the apartment, securing every lock and deadbolt. I can’t stay here in Hutchinson, Kansas any longer. Pulling my phone from my purse, I text Weston.
Tatiana is here. It’s not safe for me.
I grab the few belongings that have any value to me, sentimental or otherwise, and shove it into my shoulder bag, including the stolen silver necklace. It has value and if I’m forced on the run, I’ll need money to survive.
I know.
What did Weston mean he knew Tatiana is at the bar? Had he seen her? Is he there?
What do you mean, you know? I type into the phone. If he saw her, why didn’t he warn me? I can’t go down out the front door and it’s only a matter of time until she finds me just a few feet away. I grow restless waiting for an answer.
The phone buzzes and displays an incoming call from Weston. "Wes, tell me you’re here." The only thing to do is hop in his car and drive into the night, far from Kansas.
A female’s voice bubbles with laughter. "Oh he’s coming darling, but you should know he won’t get here in time. Amazing how easy it is to clone a phone number and steal his service. The advancements Stem Tech has made is encouraging."

Angels with Attitude - Author Interview

What would you have done differently if you were the main character of your book ?

I wouldn't be caught stealing because I wouldn't steal. I'm way too honest (and in that case it's a good thing), but I'm also afraid of getting caught and the consequences, so I wouldn't have been in her position.

What was your inspiration behind this book?

I loved the show Dark Angel on FOX that was forever ago. It really held a lot of science fiction with conspiracies which is what gave me the basis for Stolen Art. From there, I also love The X-Files and Orphan Black, so there was a little more fun involved in steering the direction of the story.

Why did you become a writer?

I've been a writer since I was a teenager. The reason I become an author was because I love writing and wanted to share my stories with the world.

Do you have a favorite author or authors?

John Green. I love his novel, The Fault in Our Stars.

Do you like to write your books in a continuing series?

It depends on the book. Some stories need multiple books to tell the full novel without it being overwhelming. Stolen Art is a stand-alone story.

What kinds of books do you like to read in your spare time?

Young Adult - Science Fiction, Dystopian, Fantasy
Adult - Romance

As a reader and writer I think it is important to get to know your fans and make a connection with them as an author who takes the extra step to hear what their fans think and want in their continued writing is continued success and key to selling more books .Do you agree with that?

Definitely! It's why I always answer back my readers that send me questions or comments.

Did you have a Cover Designer?

Yes, my publisher designed the cover.

If you were able to dine and have a one on one with your favorite writer/author who would it be?

John Green

Do just re-read your favorite books?

Sometimes but not very often. There are so many books to read, if I always reread all my favorites then I'd never have any new favorites.

Do you ever get in a reading slump like your readers do?

Yes and it sucks.
