Our Review

Wow ! What an enjoyable read something new and fresh.Who would have thought of a unicorn wanting to turn human in order to be with her chosen soul mate? What an enticing story from beginning to end.The book had somewhat of a fairy tale feel to it.What a remarkable love story. This story was just so sweet and endearing. The character's were lovable and like-able and easy to relate to and  even some with a sense of humor.

It's nice to see the choices and sacrifices one will make for true love and ones destined soul mate .Iria was destined to love Dezso but, being a unicorn that was not possible until fate intervened and gave her a chance and a choice to shape her own future. The Goddess showed her what her future could be like if she made the right choices and what sacrifices and choices she might have to make in order to have the kind of future so so desperately craved. What a hard choice that must have been for her not knowing what that sacrifice will be ?What could be asked of you ?Your life as you know it perhaps?

I normally choose one favorite character to rave about but, it was impossible to make a choice among these endearing characters so I will tell you what I loved about the two main characters.

I just love Iria what a kind a loving soul she was.Beautiful inside and out whether a unicorn or in human form.I loved how she was strong and courageous going after those things she wanted out of life.Love being along the ride of her smoldering love affair with Dezso .They came to each other in there dreams and were falling in love even before they met.Loved how she took her destiny by the horns and the tough choices she made without knowing the consequences.Just a kind and loving soul to all those deserving her kindness.Loved the way she loved Dezso will all her being.Loved the way she took charge to learn in all things to defeat her foe.She was really one of a kind...

Dezso was a loving a kind man also but he also held a bit of darkness that he held within himself making him afraid for himself and for Iria. Love the way he Loved Iria it was all consumming. All her needs and wants always came first. How he always worried about her safety and the way he missed her when she was away from her.Love that he was a product of magic. But, most of all it did not matter to him the women he fell in love with before he even met her was a unicorn before becoming human.Love that he was a man full of patience and kindness. And overall just loved the way he loved Iria with his whole heart.

What a unique story about love and sacrifices and defeating evil in order to get your happy ever after.Loved all the magic that  surrounded the book there were mermaids, magic makers,shape-shifters and a Goddess with wonderful powers and of course the dark and evil ones.A surprising tale of all love laughter and happy ever afters....

We are giving it 4 stars.....

Book Blurb/Synopsis-

Growing up on the tough Philly streets, Gwen O'Neill has learned how to fend for herself. But what is she supposed to do with a nice, suburban Jersey boy in the form of a massive Grizzly shifter? Especially one with a rather unhealthy fetish for honey, moose, and…uh…well, her. Yet despite his menacing ursine growl and four-inch claws, Gwen finds Lachlan "Lock" MacRyrie cute and really sweet. He actually watches out for her, protects her, and unlike the rest of her out-of-control family manages not to morbidly embarrass her. Too bad cats don't believe in forever.

At nearly seven feet tall, Lock is used to people responding to him in two ways: screaming and running away. Gwen-half lioness, half tigress, all kick-ass-does neither. She's sexy beyond belief and smart as hell, but she's a born protector. Watching out for the family and friends closest to her but missing the fact that she's being stalked by a murderous enemy who doesn't like hybrids…and absolutely hates Gwen. Lock probably shouldn't get involved, but he will. Why? Because this is Gwen-and no matter what the hissing, roaring, drape destroying feline says about not being ready to settle down, Lock knows he can't simply walk away. Not when she's come to mean absolutely everything to him.

Our Review

I have been reading this series and absolutely love it.I love all the characters and that they all carry on from one book to the next. I find that I really love and like the way that this writer writes. This author has me laughing from the beginning to the end of each and every book.Love the lines that she uses also thinking hum well said.Shelly's sexual encounter scenes a very erotic and very hot along with all the HOT men she has you drooling over wishing that was you  !LOL. The aspect that I like about the book and the series so far is that fact that she mixes all character's together like grizzly bears. she-wolfs, hyenas, wild dogs, tigons (mixed breeds) etc and having those characters search and find their mates among other breeds. The characters are strong , like-able and very protective of others and their mates.Well written and a very enjoyable story. A recommended read to all.

She makes him feel more alive than he has since he died...

Chivalry is far from undead...

Matthew Halkett, Earl of Blodswell, is one of the few men in the ton who can claim to be a knight in shining armor—because that's precisely what he was before being turned into a vampyre. When he spies a damsel in distress in the midst of a storm in Hyde Park, his natural instinct is to rush to her aid...

But not every woman needs to be rescued...

Weather-controlling witch Rhiannon Sinclair isn't caught in a storm— she's the cause of it. She's mortified to have been caught making trouble by the imposing earl, but she doesn't need any man—never has, and is sure she never will...

But when Rhiannon encounters Matthew again, her powers go awry and his supernatural abilities run amok. Between the two of them, the ton is thrown into an uproar. There's never been a more tempestuous scandal...

My Thoughts and Review

What a heart warming romance between Matthew And Rhiannon. The book was definitely a page turner from the beginning to the end.Such and engrossing plot twist from the beginning you cold not put the book down. Two souls meet when they need it the most. Matthew feeling lost and Rhiannon feeling said. The two mixed well together even they Rhiannon took and instant hate to the Earl things turned around quickly. These two needed each other but, didn't really know it.The stars had this odd couple fated together. Who would have thought ?

Ciara , Rhiannon sister which the seer. The story starts out easily and becomes more complex as something starts to happen to the earl he is unable to feed and the only one who can help him is Rhiannon.A vampire unable to eat and it seems like he is dying will the little witch be able to help the handsome vampire with her magic or her blood?

One of the things I enjoy about this series is the interactions of all the different past cast members the Lycan's and the vampires the characters are so enjoyable fun and give you ton of laughs. I laughed through this book to the beginning to the end. This series keeps getting better and better.I was rooting for Rhiannon's happiness from the beginning What a heart felt romance. A Recommended read for all.

Blurb

Tully Sullivan is just like any other suburban mom—unless you count the days every year that she zones out and turns base metals in to gold. Those are weird.

And now she’s woken up in a strange place surrounded by strange people who keep insisting they’re dragons—and that she’s one too. But not just any dragon. She’s Ysolde de Bouchier, a famed figure from dragon history.

Tully can’t shape-shift or breathe fire, and she’s definitely not happy being sentenced to death for the misdeeds of a dragon mate she can’t remember. All Tully knows is that she wants her son back. So she’ll have to find a way to solve the crimes of a past she has no memory of living…

Our Review

I have to say this is one of the funniest books I ever read.Tully Sullivan is living with a family and is going to apprentice school to learning how to become a powerful mage. One day out of no-where a handsome devil shows up at her parents house and the next thing she knows she waking up a week later in a strange place people telling her she is Ysolde and that she is a silver Dragon and her warrior husband is Baltic one of the most powerful Dragons of all time. She thinks she landed in a funny farm . She is not a Dragon she keeps telling them she is married to a man named Garth and has a son Brom and she is an apprentice to a mage. But, Tully learns later on that the family who she thought was hers was indeed protecting her for her real mother who gave birth to her.

Baltic and her hook up but, she has no recollection of him.The sparks fly though from there very first kiss . Slowly things start coming back little by little she is having recollections in her dreams she is dreaming about her one true love Baltic. But she is married and has a family. Now she has two husbands and one very pissed off warrior/dragon once he learns of this. But, to Baltic he is nothing but, and usurper!

These two had a love that crossed time and found one another again. Something to be grateful for. Baltic is being accused of wiping out eighty something blue dragons and Yosolde is being held responsible for her mates transgressions.Things are not what the seem and the need to unravel this mystery together. Tully /Yosolde needs to learn who she is where she came from before all is lost again which has just been found.

This was a light heart-felt romance. I found the character's to be engaging and tons of fun. Ysolde sense of humor was contagious.I practically laughed throughout this whole book.Baltic was engaging med evil warrior with archaic beliefs with a wife who is living in the modern times. As you can imagine they butt heads quite a lot and the scenes on the pages doing so are just hilarious! This is part of a series and I am looking forward to the next book in the series coming out in May.It was a fun journey that Tully took us on learning how to be a dragon as she knows nothing of being one all the while never giving up her current thought that she is just good old Tully the mage's apprentice and not a very good one.....

Book Review for Shadow Life Hybrid by Claudy Conn

Chase MacAdams is a hybrid with extraordinary abilities…
Roxie is an Indian beauty, a shapeshifter on her mother’s side and
hales from a little known tribe in the Adirondack Mountains of New York.
Her father is an immortal—Scottish by choice and time.
Thus, a
friend, Nikki Walker thinks and rightly so, that Roxie will help in the
fight against WB and his vampire clan. They need help because the
vicious vampire now has Count Dracula on their side and all of Europe is
 in danger.
However, they have given Roxie a difficult task. The
team wants her to visit with Chase in the highlands of Scotland and
convince him to join in the fight. He has already refused, but Nikki
doesn’t think he will refuse Roxie MacBran. And for all the wrong
reasons he doesn’t

My Thoughts and Review

Great
conclusion to and ending series! I loved this entire series and all
books were all worth the time to read. The two main characters of this
story were perfect for one another. Chase and Roxie made a lovely
pair.Just loved the book. The book became a page turner right from the
beginning with lots of laughs, humor ,mystery and tons of danger to keep
 your interest in the story.

I found along with the other books
to this series that each book including this one had hero and a heroine
who both played there part for a favorable outcome in eliminating the
evil that was about to take over mankind. The two were very different
but, each needed each to find each other in order to play there part in
there own destinies. One of the main things I loved about Roxie was about
where she was from and the tribe that she came from was a nice twist.
Growing up in Adirondacks myself it was nice that the story included
where Roxie was from making her character even more lovable in my
book.LOL

Roxie had her work cut out for trying to get
Chase in on this mission as he and his father were loaners but, there
was not stopping Roxie from her mission she just needed to be her fun
sexy self and he was a goner. But, Chase fought a long and hard battle
not to succumb like all the men characters that made up this group of
stories. But, one look at there women and the were goners from day one
they just didn't know it.

I believe the Queen had her hand in
making all the matches throughout these stories even this one but she
just doesn't come out and say it or let be known as common
knowledge. There was so much action that came to life on the pages and
also new secrets that were revealed .Also it shed some more light on
things all bringing us up to speed and solving some mysteries we might
have had..But, Roxie was the one thing needed to stop Dracula in his
tracks along with a little help to keep one deeply guarded secret in
tact and if not for her who knows what would happen to the outcome of
this story.

The story was a wonderful read and recommended to
all.The book had everything a reader could want strong characters,
humor, sexy men, beautiful sexy heroines, tons of mystery, magic, vampires
and the Fae all while taking place in the glorious highlands even
making the story even more magical.Even though this story had and ending
I believe if the author at some point wanted to write another to this
series or a continuation mayhap going in another direction she could
easily do that.Loved the entire series and if a reader choose to read
the books out of sequence they wold not have a problem catching on.

My only thing and this is only me personally that I felt missing in the
ending was this.Throughout the entire series several persons would play
a part in the books ending series. Why weren't they all there at the
finale. They were all spoken about throughout this story but, Why
weren't the couple that started it all there to see the ending or the
couples that came after before they all played a part.Would it have
caused a more dramatic ending or not ? This observation is only a
personal one and in know way diminishes the authors the ending of the
story saying it wasn't a good one but for me if I started a chain
reaction that lead to the chain of events to come to pass I would have
liked to have been there personally at the ending even if I was not
needed to see how the whole thing played out

Be sure to put
Claudy's books in your to read pile if they are not there as you don't
want to be missing out.Currently reading her Fae series and loving
it.She is a wonderful author and is worthy of being in your current
library there in mine !
