Her Dream Cowboy

Talked into experiencing ranch life for herself by her best friend, Sophie comes all the way from England to Nevada, alone. But while her friend may have abandoned her, her guide for the week promises to stick close to her side.

A guide who just happens to be an honest to goodness, sexy cowboy.

Luke Harper is a busy man. He’s dedicated years to turning his ranch into a successful holiday business. He’s yet to find a woman who can deal with the realities of dating a cowboy. In his experience, they’re all after a dream. But Sophie proves too tempting for her own good and Luke can’t help wondering if the gorgeous woman would be willing to give him a chance.

Or is she just looking for a dream cowboy too?

The Layover

Security officer and avowed city boy Reno Locke drops into The Meeting Place for a little loving to fill his off hours. Country boy Wilder Henderson swings through to blow off a little steam after winning a rodeo competition. Locke finally works up the nerve to hit on Wilder and Locke takes Wilder back to his room. He finds out this urban cowboy is just what he was looking for during The Layover.

Faith, Hope and Charity

True grit and humor accompany sex and cowboy clichés in this adventurous western set in the New Mexico Territory. A young girl wants to run off with a sexy cowboy, but her daddy doesn’t approve. Not only that, but Daddy’s a Territorial Marshall who wants to kill poor Johnny for taking advantage of his daughter. With the chance of a fresh start and an interesting future, will love conquer all?

In the old west, a young couple have plotted a future rendezvous for any chance of a life together, if only poor Johnny isn’t gunned down first by Faith’s father who is out for the cowboy’s blood.

Johnny, a wrangler, and Faith, the apple of her mother and father’s eye, meet at a fiesta in a small New Mexico town. She’s different from any girl Johnny’s ever met, the kind of girl that tickles the thought of settling down. At a late night rendezvous, they reveal everything there is to know about each other, except for one ominous circumstance. Faith’s father is the Territorial Marshall and he doesn’t take kindly to what happened between the young couple along a riverbank. The Marshall sets out on a quest to make the young cowboy answer for his misdeeds and bring an end to this sudden, lovesick couple’s plans to reunite. While Johnny dodges the man in search of blood, a train awaits the couple if they are allowed to carry out their plan. But philosophies are bound to clash during the final showdown between generational attitudes.

HER DREAM COWBOY - SAMANTHA HOLT - 4.5 Stars

Raising my hand over here, can I please go on a week long trail ride with a hot stud of a cowboy like Luke. Oh man Sophie, I am so jealous, you are soooooo lucky. I think her friend bailing at the last minute was luck for sure!!!

Cassie has come from England to Nevada to a ranch for a week long trail ride. Her friend bailed at the last minute so she was in this on her own. Trying to get over a bad divorce and in need of a job. She wanted to find the carefree person she was before her marriage and life became a wreck. Out walks Luke - OMG he is the epitome of a cowboy - this man is fine (great job Samantha). Wow I think I was drooling at my desk reading Cassie describe the man before her.

The trail ride, yes oh, um, gee, well lets just say, besides snakes when you pee, beautiful scenery and sharing a tent with a gorgeous, hot, stud of a man, its your average, every day trail ride. Okay NOT - hello phew, can we say, never want the trail ride to end.

Of course what is a story without a bump in the road, or trail. Just when Luke and Cassie think they are going to both get what they want in the end (each other of course) in walks mister fancy pants in all his glory wanting Cassie back. That has Luke and well Cassie fuming.

This is a short story, it is a fast read, but the story line, the scenes, the sex, wowsers this was such a good book. Anyone who follows my blog knows I have read just about every single book by Samantha Holt. She is an amazing Historical Romance author. I love her style of writing and her stories. I mean who doesn’t love a sexy, hot, stud of a highlander. But this story, this is not a Historical Romance. Nope Samantha has stepped outside of those boundaries and wrote about an All American, hot and down right sexy Cowboy and OMG let me tell you I love me a good cowboy story.

Samantha sucked me right into the story, pulled me to the very edge and shoved me right off. And the ride was truly amazing. Fan-Frigging-Tastic Samantha!!. Right away I fell in love with Luke and Sophie and was cheering them on. I loved their story, I loved how he wanted her but also didn’t want to go against the rules he set for himself. But oh man am I ever glad that he did. That shower scene - holy wow - had me wanting to run and take a cold shower with him of course LOL. I don’t think the steam from that part of the story was from the hot water, I do believe it was from well, okay never mind, you all need to just get the book “Buckle Down” and read this story yourself.

THE LAYOVER - C.V. MADISON - 3.5 Stars

The Layover us the second short story in this book. Written by CV Madison and is about a guy Locke who works for a security firm at a bar looking for a little company to keep him warm in the cold Chicago winter night. In comes a cowboy names Wilder.
I love a good erotica read but I am not into make on make action. But being that this is one of there stories in the Buckle Down book I forged ahead.

I will say the bar scene was actually rather funny. And the pick up line had me busting out loud. I did find this part of the story really good and being this is the first time I've read this author that was a plus for me.

I did however have a hard time with the hotel scene. I think the author did a really good job in the lead up, her description and details if the foreplay. But as I said this is not an area of the erotica genre I am into.

That being said I busted out at the "Ride a cowboy" statement. Oh and the bag of toys lol and Wilders comments as he's pulling things out.

Overall this was a really good book and I look forward to reading more from this author.

3.5 stars the only thing keeping me from a 4 is my discomfort level in this type of storyline

FAITH, HOPE & CHARITY by J.T. Seate - 4 Stars

This is the last short in the buckle down book. And again this is the first time I've read this author and I really enjoyed it. Absolutely fun read for me.

Young love is exactly what this is and the author did a great job. From the details of Johnny, who he is and what brought him to the town he was in and the moment he meets Faith. To the details of their "FIRST" encounter. Loved it..

Of course every young man should know never sleep worn the daughter of the law and thing everything will be ok. Johnny finds out quick Faith's father isn't one to mess with.

Hope ah yes that is what Johnny has. Hope he can out run one ticked off daddy even makes on horseback lol. Hope that the girl he loves will be there. Hope that it all works out.

Charity that is exactly what Faith's mother has for Johnny and her daughter. Without her I think things would've been different.
I loved the scene with Johnny on the run hiding out in a cabin on the run with the remains of a guy and him thinking the dead man might be coming back to life only instead it is a mouse lol

This was a really great first read for me and I am going to be looking for more books from this author for sure.

Eh, I'm not the biggest cowboy trope fan, although I love watching them on screen, just cant get into it with books. I'm glad you enjoyed the stories enough to try their other works, I'm sure they'll love that.
