Faith opened the front door without knocking, wearing a short, black dress and sky-high heels.  “When I said ‘go out’,” she smiled, “I meant to a bar not a picnic.”

Lindy sighed.  “I’m trying something different.”

Faith leaned against the wall and eyed her speculatively.  “Different?”

“I’m tired of the trampy clothes.  I hardly have anything decent to wear outside of my work shirts and jeans.  If I ever did find a guy willing to mate with me, what the hell would I wear to meet his parents?”

Faith looked at her for a long moment and said, “When we talked about finding our mates the other day…are you trying to change yourself into a different person?  Because it shouldn’t matter what your clothes look like.  A guy worth a damn is going to understand that."

“I know, but I’m miserable.  I never thought that my life would turn out this way.  When I planned my life at Sunny’s age, I thought I’d be mated with a few pups by now.  I have a lot of regrets.”

“I do, too, but I’m not going to change who I am.”

“I’m still the same person on the inside, but I kinda feel like this outside matches my insides better.  Does that make sense?”

Faith snorted.  “Are you saying my insides are slutty?”

“I’m talking about me.  You said I looked like I was going to a picnic.”


Faith rolled her eyes.  “I was just teasing.  You look pretty, and what’s better is that you look happier, and that’s important."

Our Interview

What would you have done differently if you were the main character of your book?

I would not allowed myself to get so removed from the Pack that I was a virtual stranger, and I definitely wouldn’t have let myself get used by so many people.

What was your inspiration behind this book? 

I mentioned the character of the wulfen in the previous book in the series, and my editor said she thought it would make a good storyline.  I knew then that Lindy, who had mostly been an antagonist up until that point, was going to get her redemption in the 7th book with a wulfen as her hero.

Why did you become a writer?

I love to write stories and share them.

Do you have a favorite author or authors?

JR Ward, Laurann Dohner, Jayne Rylon

Do you like to write your books in a continuing series? 

I love to write series.  Writing a book is an investment in time and creativity, and I often don’t want to just leave a book behind and move on, but go back and see the characters again and again.

If you could date any character from any book, who would it be and why?

Valiant from Laurann Dohner’s New Species series

I have had a deep and abiding crush on Mr. Darcy since I was fifteen. 

What kinds of books do you like to read in your spare time?

I mostly read paranormal romance, but I there are some contemporary authors that I enjoy as well.

As a reader and writer I think it is important to get to know your fans and make a connection with them as an author who takes the extra step to hear what their fans think and want in their continued writing is continued success and key to selling more books .Do you agree with that?

Absolutely!  I’m always curious to hear what people think of my stories and characters.  I’m often surprised by a minor character that becomes important to readers.   

Do you cry when writing sad scenes?

Sometimes.  I don’t write tear-jerker books because I don’t really like reading books that make me cry.  But there have been times when I’ve written a scene that just got to me.

I try not to. Someone has to keep a clear head, if it’s not the characters than I suppose it has to be me. 

Did you have a Cover Designer?

Absolutely!  I’ve been using the supremely talented Ramona of Romance Book Cover Designs by Ramona. 

Who is your fictional boyfriend or girlfriend crush?

If you were able to dine and have a one on one with your favorite writer/author who would it be?

Laurann Dohner

Do just re-read your favorite books? 

I do!  Especially if an author is releasing another book in a series I love, I will re-read the others before it comes out.

Do you ever get in a reading slump like your readers do? 

Definitely.  My Kindle is full of books I haven’t read yet and there are times when nothing appeals to me.

What is the funniest book you ever read?


Any of Celia Kyle’s books crack me up.

I always wanted to be a homebody and live in one place for my entire life, but fate had other plans. In the past twelve years of my married life, we’ve moved seven times, including from one coast to the other. Southern New Jersey is home now and I love it.  I have two young children, a husband who begrudgingly pays for my ebook addiction, and two dogs that think they’re people. After college, I spent eight years as an executive assistant before “retiring” at twenty-seven to become a stay-at-home mom. Standing slowly, she walked to the door.  “Who is it?” she called loudly.  Her mind raced.  Her dad and Mia both had keys to her place and wouldn’t be banging on the door in the middle of the night.

There was no possible way on earth that Acksel Moore was banging on her door at this hour.  Or any hour, for that matter.

She flipped on the switch to turn on the porch light and drew in a deep breath.  The lock clicked as she turned it and pulled the door open.  Standing in the harsh light was the most gorgeous man she’d ever known.  The star of every dirty fantasy she’d ever had.

She turned suddenly and placed her hands on his face.  There was only the briefest of pauses before she went on her toes and pressed her lips against his.  The roar of blood in his ears was second only to his wolf howling in happiness that she was kissing him willingly and not because it was bedtime.  Her hands slid around to his shoulders and she pulled him close, swiping her tongue against his lips until he opened his mouth for her.

Most of the kisses they’d shared had been of the chaste sort, closed mouths or just the lightest touch of tongues.  But when he’d kissed her earlier in the day and the decadent flavor of her had hit him full force, he’d been unable to think of anything but kissing her again and again.

He released his grip on the railing and wrapped his arms around her, kissing her deeply, chasing her tongue and devouring her with every ounce of passion he possessed.  The air was cool around them, but the heat between them scorched him from the inside out.

He wanted to be burned by her.  It was the sweetest agony.

They eased away from each other slowly and his wolf snarled at the loss of her warmth.

She turned in his arms and looked out into the darkness.  She snuggled into him and he kept his arms around her.  He could see better than she could in the darkness, making out the glint of the churning water below, but she seemed to enjoy herself, and he didn’t want to break whatever peaceful spell had surrounded them.
