I should run while I have the chance.I know it with a certainty that shakes me to the core of my very being. Just like I know how impossible running away would be, how unforgivable. But as I sit here, alone, I take a moment to study the man whose voice for the past month has starred in my fantasies. Author Interview

What would you have done differently if you were the main character of your book?

~ I would have fought against the antagonist more and done so sooner.

What was your inspiration behind this book? 

~ Some of the material in this book had been previously published years ago. That was done when I was in a sci-fi phase and a publisher had an open submissions call. When I reworked the material and added new material, it turned into an urban fantasy about a computer game since I’ve been known to play WOW and other role playing games.

Why did you become a writer?

~ It was a calling I had when I was young.

Do you have a favorite author or authors?

~ KC Klein; Anne Rice; Stephen King; Clive Barker

Do you like to write your books in a continuing series? 

~ For this particular storyline, yes. 

If you could date any character from any book, who would it be and why?

~ JT. He only has a brief appearance in Open World but he’s a main character in the next story. He’s cute, young, and a romantic.

I have had a deep and abiding crush on Mr. Darcy since I was fifteen. 

What kinds of books do you like to read in your spare time?

~ I have an eclectic taste when it comes to my reading material. Right now I’m reading a spiritual book, a contemporary western romance by KC Klein, and a story by King.

As a reader and writer I think it is important to get to know your fans and make a connection with them as an author who takes the extra step to hear what their fans think and want in their continued writing is continued success and key to selling more books .Do you agree with that?

~ Yes. I love to hear from readers/fans & to find out what’s working and what isn’t.

Do you cry when writing sad scenes?

~ I’ve been known to. 

I try not to. Someone has to keep a clear head, if it’s not the characters than I suppose it has to be me. 

Did you have a Cover Designer?

~ The cover was done by Sour Cherry Designs & it’s one of my favorite by them.

Who is your fictional boyfriend or girlfriend crush? 

~ It’s a toss-up between Lestat and Marius.

If you were able to dine and have a one on one with your favorite writer/author who would it be?

~ Tough choice. But it’d be one of the authors I listed earlier. Though, I have met and talked to KC. I’ve also met Rice’s son, Christopher, who is an author as well…so I’m one step closer there. ;)

Do just re-read your favorite books? 

~ Yes, I’ve re-read a handful of the books in my library.

Do you ever get in a reading slump like your readers do? 

~ I feel like I’m in one now. I used to devour books. Now it seems to take me forever to get through one.

What is the funniest book you ever read?

~ Helen Fielding's novels: Bridget Jones's Diary, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason & Olivia Joules and The Overactive Imagination

Our Author Interview

What would you have done differently if you were the main character of your book? 

 I probably would have ended the marriage sooner so that both of them could have moved on.  This would have also resulted in the two main characters getting together that much sooner.

What was your inspiration behind this book? 

 I really like the theme of forbidden/unattainable love as it makes for some real angsty moments.  So I had the idea of this hero who could have almost any woman in the world that he wanted, save for the only one he really did because she happened to be married to someone else.  

Why did you become a writer?  

Writing is something that I’ve done since I was about twelve years old, and since then I’ve always written in one form or another, be it fiction, essays, articles, how-to guides, etc.  With the advent of self-publishing in recent years I was finally able to realize my dream of having a book published.

Do you have a favorite author or authors?

  I admire and emulate some of the better known names in women’s fiction, the ones I consider pioneers in the romance genre, including Sandra Brown, Linda Howard, Judith McNaught, and Barbara Delinsky.  In more recent times I love the works of Sylvia Day, Christina Lauren, Nina Lane, and the very elegant Sylvain Reynard.

Do you like to write your books in a continuing series? 

I don’t like or believe in trilogies and especially not cliffhangers.  The books planned in the Inevitable series are related but each considered a standalone with their own separate lead characters. That being said, you will see characters from previous books make appearances in others, and new lead characters introduced as well, but not to the point where you have what I call the “high school reunion” scenario where every main character from every book is included each time.

If you could date any character from any book, who would it be and why? 

 Oh, definitely Ian Gregson, the male lead from Splendor.  He has it all – good looks, hunky body, money, power, prestige plus he’s kind, considerate and so romantic he makes your head spin.  

What kinds of books do you like to read in your spare time?  

Contemporary romance, of course, and also some paranormal.  I also read a physical newspaper every single day, even if I’m traveling.  And my guilty pleasure is a subscription to Us Weekly magazine.

As a reader and writer I think it is important to get to know your fans and make a connection with them as an author who takes the extra step to hear what their fans think and want in their continued writing is continued success and key to selling more books .Do you agree with that? 

 I absolutely agree, and would love to hear from fans.  Since the release of my first book one fan in particular really reached out to me and has since become a good friend, even though she lives in Europe.  She has helped me with teaser photos, and has offered to be a beta reader for future releases.  I strongly encourage fans to contact me at Facebook, Goodreads, etc. and I promise to answer you!

Do you cry when writing sad scenes?  

I didn’t cry when writing some of the sad scenes in Splendor but confess to getting a little teary eyed when I read them back during the editing process.  

Did you have a Cover Designer? 

 Yes, I had my book covers designed by Damonza.  It was really important to me to have a professional and original design, and he and I just really clicked on our ideas for the cover.  He’ll be doing all the designs for this series since I want them to have continuity.

Who is your fictional boyfriend or girlfriend crush?

 Not to keep plugging my own book, but I’m really sort of half in love with Ian from Splendor.  He’s going to be an awfully hard act to follow but I guess that’s my fault for making him so swoon-worthy.

If you were able to dine and have a one on one with your favorite writer/author who would it be?  Probably Barbara Delinsky, because I love the way she makes her characters and scenes feel so real.  
Do just re-read your favorite books?

 I do get in that habit sometimes, to the point where I ignore new books waiting to be read.  This is especially true when I’m disappointed in a new release so I just go back to what I know is great.

Do you ever get in a reading slump like your readers do?

 Sometimes, yes, and that’s when I typically start re-reading older books.


What is the funniest book you ever read?

 In regards to romance, probably Tangled by Emma Chase.  Great, witty dialog and loved the male POV.  For non-romance, anything that George Carlin wrote/compiled in his brilliant but too-short life will always make me howl with laughter.

JB looked toward the door as everyone else did. Taio stood at the entrance, with Eva on one arm and a taller female who looked just like him on the other. He waited as everyone rose to their feet.
“That’s his mother, Queen Fainia Xochis of Drazlan,” Lo’Ren said from the seat next to him. “It’s customary for you to stand when she enters the room.”
“I’ve already pissed him off today, no need to do it again if it’s not totally necessary.” JB stood.
Taio proceeded through the door, followed by three other females. JB immediately found himself staring at one in particular.
Her head was cast down slightly, her face obscured by waves and waves of jet-black hair that brushed the swell of her round butt. She wore a pale-purple form-fitting dress. The floor-length gown had designs made of colored crystals. Her skin was the same color as Taio’s, but different. It seemed to glow. Her build was tall and slender with a hint of curves where they were needed most.
She turned her head.
He caught his breath.
Beautiful.
As her lavender eyes locked on Lo’Ren, he willed her to look his way. Her features were sharp and foreign, but beautiful in every way. Her cheekbones were high and defined. Her lips were full and pink. She had a look of longing in her eyes and he wanted to know why.
No, he needed to know why.
Was she upset?
Who had taken the joy away from such a perfect female?
Look at me. I want to know you.
“Uh, unless you’re inviting Taio to kill you, I would sit down,” Lo’Ren said, tugging on his sleeve.
He glanced around to find he was the only one still standing. JB sat but kept his eyes on the female across the room. “Why would he kill me? She’s not human.”
“She’s his younger sister, Princess Saia.” Lo’Ren popped a piece of meat in her mouth and chewed. “Look the other way, human.”
That information alone should have been enough to make him turn his head and focus his attention on something else, but he couldn’t.
Princess Saia.
Rasha grabbed Saia in a bear hug and lifted her from her feet. JB watched, waiting for her to turn his way. His heart thumped. He wanted to go to her, meet her.
She was his.
He shook his head, trying to dislodge the misplaced thought.
Where the hell did that come from?
Then she turned toward him. Their eyes met.
And there it was.
His heart felt as though it was seized in a tight fist then dropped to the pit of his stomach.
“This is where you take my advice before you get into trouble.”
“She’s looking at me,” he whispered.
Every nerve in his body sprang to life. Her eyes were framed in the heaviest lashes he’d ever seen. And when she blinked, they looked like wings of butterflies.
He sighed and felt as if his body had melted into the chair.
Lo’Ren groaned. “Taio will kill you.”
“I don’t care.” He couldn’t drag his gaze away. A small smile graced beautiful full lips. Lips he wanted to claim for his own. From the side, her face had appeared long, but no, it was round and soft. Her nose was perky and petite. “Princess Saia,” JB said breathlessly.
Lo’Ren shook her head. “I shouldn’t have told you her name. I don’t want any part of this.”
“I would have found out anyway.” Nothing could have stopped him from knowing her name.
Lo’Ren blew out a heavy breath. “Did I mention that she’s Taio’s only sister?”
