Blog Tour for Hunter's Hope by Alyssa Day

HUNTER’S HOPE by Alyssa Day is out now from Entangled Publishing! Check it out and be sure to get your copy today!

Title: Hunter’s Hope

Author: Alyssa Day

Genre: Paranormal Romance

About Hunter’s Hope:

Hunter Evans risked his life again and again as a firefighter until the night he died saving a child…only to be reborn as a vampire. Now the man who lived his life as the quintessential “nice guy” must find a way to conquer the deadly urges that threaten to turn him feral. When his own actions put a beautiful woman in danger, he vows to protect her…even from himself. Alice Darlington has a secret of her own: she sees ghosts. She thought she’d done a good job of keeping it under wraps—until now. A terrible threat from her past is hunting her down in order to use her power for dark purposes. Now she’s on the run and doesn’t know who to trust or where to go. When Hunter and Alice team up to battle the dangers coming at them from all sides, they’re forced to rely on each other. But Hunter doesn’t know how long he can keep the beast inside him away from the woman it craves…
We really loved Hunter and Alice's story. What an unusual pairing yet perfect for one another. We loved the fact that Hunter had better luck with women this time around as a vampire than he did when he was a human and a firefighter. Loved Hunter's possessiveness and protectiveness, he came off all alpha baby! Hunter was great, we loved seeing him grow and yet be vulnerable, at least when it came to spilling his guts to Alice. We also loved the fact that these pairings lead you in the direction of finding other paranormal, adding to the mix of this crazy big paranormal family. Alice was such a sweetheart and had a kind of loving heart, loved how she tried playing at the sexy siren scenario only to blush when making her moves. Alice has not had an easy life and her past is encroaching once again coupled with her special abilities and along with learning that there are vampires, shifters, demons, warlocks, and it's a lot to take in but, she is a fierce little thing taking it all in stride making her even more attractive to Hunter than she already is and nothing but, a little warrior in our eyes. We absolutely love Meara she is a bada** and scary as all get out but, we also love how she befriends and shows generosity to the ones she cares about taking them into the fold and under her wing making them one big happy family. Such a generous heart for such a deadly vampire and we love her wicked sense of humor, she reminds me a lot of Nina Stapleton from Dakota Cassidy's ACCIDENTAL SERIES. Another enjoyable romp in the paranormal world where nothing is as it seems and a lot of drama constantly going on. Loved the cast of characters and how all the paranormal are playing nice with one another, well most of them. We thought Hunter and Alice made a cute couple and loved the fact that Alice has this large and wonderful family to watch over her and protect her at all cost, and that includes the wolf shifters also. The story brought a ton of smiles and more than a few chuckles, we have no doubt that Alice with fit right in with this crazy bunch of vampires that we have come to love so much.

Exclusive Excerpt:

When Alice rounded the back of the van, it was to discover that Marigold was no longer in her crate. Or even in the van. Instead, she was being held in the muscular arms of the man—ghost—from the hotel. And the normally good-natured raccoon was hissing. Alice froze and then forced herself forward. “What are you doing? Give her to me.” He flashed a wickedly sensual smile that caused a ripple of sensation to wash through her, carrying an unexpected heat to every nerve ending in her body. She suddenly felt too hot, too breathless, too…alive. “She clearly would prefer to be held by you,” he said easily. “I can’t say that I blame her.” His blue eyes gleamed, glowing in the reflected brightness of the lantern lights affixed on either side of her front door. When he stepped toward her, she automatically took a step back. This man—this ghost—most definitely didn’t belong in her yard, holding her raccoon. He was… too much. Too tall, too big, too intense, too gorgeous. Her breath gave a funny little hitch in her throat. He was beautiful. Maybe her age? Late twenties? Or early thirties? Tall; he was easily six feet, maybe a couple of inches more. Broad shoulders angled down to a slim waist with no softness showing anywhere. And he had amazing bone structure. She suddenly wanted to dig out the paints she’d tried out a few times when she was enjoying her new freedom and try to capture the strength in his jaw, the sharpness of his high cheekbones, and the glow in his eyes. His face held a slight beard, as though he hadn’t shaved in the days before he’d died, and those long, dark lashes shaded not just his incredible eyes but the shadows beneath them. His dark hair was swept back from his forehead, as if he’d impatiently shoved it out of his way with one of the large, capable hands that currently held an armful of unhappy raccoon. Marigold hissed again, snapping Alice out of her trance, and she edged forward, took the angry creature, and stumbled back and away from her unexpected visitor. She swallowed, hard, and tried to regain control of the situation. The only way to deal with ghosts was to take the reins at the very beginning of each encounter. She thought she’d done this at the hotel, but she’d been caught off guard by the man’s—the ghost’s—aliveness. She’d encountered ghosts who could manipulate objects before, of course, but nothing like this. “Listen. I—” The amusement in his gaze threw her off, and she forgot what she’d been about to say. So, she asked a basic question to give herself time to regroup. “What is your name? I can’t keep thinking of you as ‘that man’ or ‘that ghost.’” His devilish smile flashed again. “I like that you keep thinking of me.”

Exclusive Excerpt:

As Hunter started to step out of the elevator, an odd-looking dog raced in front of him and darted inside. “Marigold!” a woman’s voice called. “Marigold! Stop!” Hunter looked up to see a flurry of color as a woman rushed down the hallway toward him. Or, presumably, toward the dog. “She’s inside. She’s not going anywhere,” he said, moving to block the entry to keep the animal in, surprised to find himself amused for the second time in ten minutes. For only the third or fourth time in the weeks since he’d died. “She might push the button for a floor, and then where would I be? Chasing her all over the hotel all night?” The woman, a colorful whirlwind of purple silk, wild red curls, and flashing green eyes, ducked past him and bent down. “You naughty thing! Hotels are dangerous! What if somebody tried to eat you?” “This may not be a five-star hotel, but I doubt they’ve resorted to eating dogs,” Hunter drawled. She lifted the animal into her arms and stood, turning to face him but still looking at the animal in her arms. “Marigold is a raccoon, as you can see. And this is the South. They eat raccoons in the South, or haven’t you read Nathaniel Porter’s Field Guide to Local Fauna?” “I…can’t say that I have,” he said slowly, because his brain cells seemed to be melting. It was a raccoon. In a hotel. And the raccoon rescuer was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. She was nearly as tall as he was, so maybe five-ten. She had cheekbones that could cut glass, and her smile, directed at the raccoon, was wide and lit up her face. Her eyes were the brilliant green of a spring apple, and her mass of red curls reached nearly to her waist. The purple dress she wore was a complicated thing made of scarves or loose flutters of fabric, and the entire picture gave him the impression of a forest nymph or fortune-teller. “A raccoon,” he finally said, simply because the situation seemed to call for him to speak, but he had no idea what the hell to say. “Yes. As I said. If you’d move out of the way?” She finally glanced up at him. Her eyes narrowed, and her glossy red lips tightened. “Oh. I should have known it would be that kind of night.” He knew she was talking, but he couldn’t quite make out the words or the meaning, because every single molecule of his body was suddenly, painfully focused on one thing and one thing only. The pulse beating in her throat.

April in Atlantis by Alyssa Day Blitz & Giveaway

April in Atlantis
Alyssa Day
(Poseidon’s Warriors #4)
Publication date: November 5th 2018
Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense

She’s Poseidon’s first and only female warrior…
When April, Poseidon’s first-ever female warrior, meets Pine–“don’t call me a werewolf” — prince of the European wolf shifters, she saves his life and then gives him the finger, because the sound of his sexy Scottish accent when he said “I think I’m in love, lass” gave her shivers in places shivers had no right to be. She’s a warrior, not a werewolf groupie. But now she’s trapped between the werewolf who wants her and the werewolf who wants her dead.
He’s Europe’s werewolf prince…
Pine wanted April the moment he saw her, just before she saved his life. Then he knew he must make her his. But the appearance of his long-lost and presumed-dead twin complicates Pine’s plans, and this time it’s April’s life at stake. Together, April and Pine are so much stronger than they are apart, but the heat between them may be enough to burn down the world.
Can two such unlikely allies find their way past danger to love? Or will mutual seduction be the beginning of the end?

EXCERPT:
Atlantis, the war room adjacent to the throne room, April 1st…
April stalked back and forth past the scarred wooden table that dominated the room, fists clenched at her sides, muttering creative suggestions under her breath in ancient Atlantean as to what the king and Denal could do with their idea. She’d expected to be kicked off the team after she’d been so rude to the man she’d only later found out had been an actual freaking prince. Instead, they’d hit her with this.
King Conlan, tall, dark, and gorgeous in that uniquely Atlantean royalty lineage way, leaned back in his chair and raised an eyebrow. “I’m not sure the throne would fit up my ass, and if Cerberus ripped my arms and legs off, my wife and son might be rather annoyed with you.”
She froze. “You heard that?”
Denal, one of the king’s elite fighters and now the leader of her team of Poseidon’s Warriors—or Denal’s Desperate Dozen, if you hung out in taverns for any time at all—blew out a sigh and shoved his hands into the pocket of his faded jeans. “You see, Conlan? Hopeless. This is a terrible idea. Also, April, I know you haven’t spent much time around royalty–”
“Try none.”
He continued as if she hadn’t spoken. “But a little respect might be nice. Or I’ll take you to the training grounds and kick your ass.”
She scowled. Unfortunately, this was a threat that carried some weight. Denal had been a warrior for longer than she’d been alive, because Atlanteans lived very long lifespans. He was unbelievably hot, in that “look at me and I’ll kill you” feral kind of hot way, but she hadn’t the slightest interest in bedding him. She just wanted to impress him.
To impress the king.
Great start, fool.
She abruptly knelt and inclined her head. “My apologies, your highness, if I have offended you. Well, of course I offended you. Gah. I mean, the throne up your ass thing might have come across worse in translation…”
She smacked her forehead. After muttering dire insults to the king, she was now questioning whether he could understand ancient Atlantean, the language of his royal ancestors.
Maybe she could stab herself in the kidney next and get the pain over with faster.
Conlan laughed.
He laughed?
“April. For Poseidon’s sake, get up. And if you call me ‘your highness’ again, I’ll be the one kicking your ass on the training grounds. My sword play is a little rusty these days, but I can take on a youngling like you.”
She leapt to her feet, a hot rush of denial searing up her throat, ready to boil forth in a mass of words, when her brain kicked in: He’d said a youngling.
Not a female.
She was a youngling, compared to his five hundred or so years, so it would be ridiculous to be offended, and she was getting tired of looking for offense from every corner. She’d made it—she’d been accepted into Poseidon’s Warriors, even if on a misfit kind of team.
“Look.” Denal strode over to her and poked her in the shoulder. Hard. “Try not to be a jerk. I’m telling you, as the head of this insane team of misfits, that you’re going to be an ambassador to the wolves.”
She refrained from poking him back and gave herself a hundred points for her massive amount of restraint. “For how long?”
“A year.” Denal studied her face and then glanced at the king, whose face was impassive. This was Denal’s decision, then.
“Six weeks,” she countered, without much hope, but it was fun to watch that nerve in Denal’s jaw jump.
“Six months, and if you argue with me again, it’s going to go back to a year,” he said, his eyes narrowing.
“I’ll take it.”
“Good call.”
The king stood up and stretched. “I have politics to play, crushing boredom to endure. Or maybe I’ll go chase my son around the garden for a while. April, do a good job. If you put me in the middle of the wolves’ civil war, we’re going to have a problem.”
His eyes darkened, and the genial king façade disappeared, so that April saw the dangerous predator lurking beneath. Conlan had been a fierce warrior for hundreds of years before he took the throne, and she could tell that nothing had changed.
“Yes, your highness,” she stammered, taking a step back.
Conlan’s face lit up with a huge grin. “You did it! I warned you. Now you can meet me on the training grounds in an hour for a bout. You’d better warm up your sword arm, warrior, because I’m not holding back.”
Denal groaned. “Don’t hurt my newest team member, Conlan. Do you know how hard it is to find good fighters?”
April blinked. He thought she was a good fighter?
“It’s not hard at all,” the king said, his calm voice completely at odds with his narrowed eyes. “Or else somebody at the younglings’ training academy needs to lose his or her job.”
Denal raised his hands. “Fine. It’s not hard to find good fighters, but it’s hard to find people with the skills and temperament to be one of Poseidon’s finest, as you well know.”
He thought she had the skills and temperament to be one of Poseidon’s finest?
April swallowed. This meeting hadn’t gone at all like she’d imagined. She’d thought she was going to be booted off the team. Instead, she found out she was one of Poseidon’s finest, who was going to be an ambassador to the European wolves, after she sparred with the king.
She needed a drink.
Conlan pointed at her. “One hour. Be there or I’ll track you down.”
She nodded to them both and then walked out of the room. Maybe she’d have that drink after her sword fight…
With the king.
Of Atlantis.
In one hour.
She started running.
