Zsadist has always been my favorite brother; it is Zsadist's story that truly touched me in ways I can't fully express. Seeing him struggle with his daughter was heartbreaking. Nalla, feeling like a mere footnote in her parents' epic love story, faces a difficult journey as she falls in love with Nate and distances herself from her father. Nate's reckless behavior poses a threat in the ongoing war against the Lessers, and even his parents struggle to control him.
Nalla, embodying her father's strength and courage, proves herself to be a formidable force, standing up to the Glymera vampires and protecting her friend Bitty. As Nalla learns more about Nate's past and the demons that haunt him, she gains a new perspective on her mother's sacrifices and struggles.
Meanwhile, Wrath's return after thirty years of separation brings new challenges as the war with the Lessers escalates. His inner battle between duty and revenge weighs heavily on him, but with the support of his brothers and Lassiter, he finds the strength to lead from the throne. The emotional reunion of the brothers, especially Rhage's and Vishous's reactions, adds depth to the story. While some books may stand out more than others, each one reinforces the importance of cherishing loved ones in our lives. The Beloved was an intriguing read; we loved it.
