Blurb:

Hockey’s most hated player just asked me to marry him.

Connor Grace is the league’s bad boy–and my best friend’s worst enemy.

He’s the fallen prince of a famous hotel chain dynasty.

Me? I’m the foster kid who grew up to be a librarian.

I never thought I’d end up in a marriage of convenience to make someone’s grandma happy, but here we are.

I have no plans to kiss my husband for any reason other than show.

I have no plans to fall in love with the arrogant man dressed in a custom suit hiding intricate tattoos.

But when we’re alone, he drops the mask he wears for the rest of the world.

He holds me like he means it when he says I’m his. And I want to believe him.

Too bad I learned early on that fairytales aren’t real, and nothing good lasts forever.

We have been fans of Dred from the beginning, and her story has only deepened my admiration for her. The characters were engaging, especially Dred, who found family and friends. It was heartwarming to see Connor's sisters step out of their comfort zone and embrace the beauty of life, with Dred playing a significant role in that transformation. Dred is a beloved member of the Babe Brigade, embraced by the group as part of their family. Connor, on the other hand, is the outsider, misunderstood by the team. Despite their different backgrounds, Dred and Connor have a special connection that is truly magical. Their chemistry is undeniable, and Dred sees Connor for who he truly is, beyond his wealth and hockey career. She sees his kindness and compassion, especially towards his grandmother and others. Watching their relationship evolve and grow was a rewarding journey with its ups and downs. On a side note, the friendship between Dred and Flip is heartwarming and fun, showcasing a strong bond between best friends. This is one of my top favorite reads for 2025, and one of our favorite couples as well. We loved everything about the story. The couple may have seemed like complete opposites, but they had more in common than meets the eye and were perfect for one another. The romance was beautiful, and the heartwarming moments between them really touched our hearts. The interactions with Meem's scenes melted our hearts, and we felt the love springing from the pages themselves. The family that this couple created together was truly heartwarming. This emotional tale with its family drama was balanced by Dred's affectionate personality, beautiful smiles, and huge, welcoming heart.
