We loved this friends-to-lovers story; it ticked all the boxes for us. This was a well-written, emotionally raw heart-melting story that was also heartbreaking as our hearts bled for the pain Cory and Ben seemed to be suffering even if the pain was for different reasons.
Ben was overall a really good guy great father compassionate about his profession and a caring loveable nature. His tender moments with his child just melted our hearts. The man carried a lot of emotional baggage and because of that, he kept messing up with the woman he loved and cared about.
Cory when not in an angry emotional state was a sweetheart of her girl. We loved her sense of humor she loved Ben's daughter like a mother would and welcomed Ben into the welcoming arms of the Spearman family. Her taste in men though was questionable they all seemed to be emotionally unavailable.
We loved the fact that Ben took some sage advice to find out the root of his anger and finally win back the one woman he always loved. Loved the slow-burn romance that transpired between this couple it was super sweet and they made you smile.
We were really rooting for this couple especially when you realized they were made for one another. Cory's anger was warranted and understandable but, the chemistry between the two was too hot to be denied. And as always the cast was wonderful and made the story a lot of fun as well. One minute you are laughing and the next you feel like crying.
