This was a highly emotional story full of secrets and lies tragedy and misplaced revenge. The characters were great some easy to love but, the children in this story were little heart melters, to say the least.
A story like this leaves you with mixed emotions of feelings two of them feeling bad and heartbroken. Brahm's survivor guilt is a horrible thing it either breaks you or makes you stronger and it seems that keeping secrets Brahm chooses to keep just sets a whole other event into motion where he continues on yet another downward spiral. Our hearts went out to this man who felt like he lost everything he cared about in one fell swoop but, was he willing to pay the price to protect those secrets? Was his life being one of them?
Seraphina chose a path and put her faith in the wrong people and that changed her life forever. After reading her and Brahm's story about their connection and their love for one another that sounded like something out of a fairytale just checked out without even a backward glance. Did she even know the man she claimed to love? Did she ever seek answers or question anything? Did everyone around her protect her so much that she became blind to the truths in front of her?
Brahm and Seraphina's story is tragic in more ways than one. The lies or secrets tore apart families. Betrayals run amok in this story, on the one hand, you understand and have sympathy for the parties involved. You are fighting mad the next because you understand it was done for the right reasons mostly but, it's just one more secret in the pack of lies kept and it seems only one person keeps paying the price.
