Only twenty-five-years-old, but Leighton Eloise Richardson feels ancient. Battered and bruised by a life that she wouldn't wish on her worst enemies, a masked man rescues her.
She considers the man her savior. Though, isn’t he just a devil that she doesn’t know? Anything has to be better than the life that her father has warned her she will be forced to live.
The vice president of the Savage Beasts has a craving. One that includes high-class call girls and any girl looking to slum it with a bad boy like him.
As his brothers start settling down, Mountain wonders if he should too. After all, he’s forty-five-years-old.
When he comes across a poor little rich girl, he decides to take her. It’ll be easy to keep someone all for himself if he’s just kidnapped her… right?
She’s guarded. He’s in pain. Both looking for healing, unsure if they can find it within one another, but willing to try.
When they finally allow themselves to heal from their pasts, they’re able to see the person in front of them and realize that they are meant for one another, not just in body but in soul as well.
*INCLUDES THE SHORT STORY UNTWIST ME
OMG! Loved this story from beginning to end. From the very first pages, the story drew you right in and kept you there the entire time all the way to the bitter end.
I loved the characters and I loved how involved Mountain's brothers were involved in helping him get his love life straight. I smirked every time a brother tried to give him some sage advice remembering just how it was for them when they were once in this same situation.
We loved Leighton from the moment we met her we loved her feistiness and loved her mouth as she wasn't afraid to express herself and although we felt her pain and our heart went out to her time and time again what we loved most of all about her was that she was a survivor and even though she may have misgivings about her self-worth and so forth of the life, she lead before it didn't completely break her, and she was still a woman capable of feeling and loving.
Mountain was a mix of a douche and being a nice guy. I love his alpha-ness and possessiveness but, I was hoping after learning Leighton's story that he would have been more kind and even compassionate but, most of the time he was nothing but, an utter a**. I love in Mountain's case that the catchphrase you can't always just a book by its cover holds true especially when it comes to Leighton because the more he learns about her the more he realizes just how wrong his first impressions were and the more that he is going have to grovel in order to get back in her good graces.
We loved that Leighton had allies even though we might not beware of who they were, and we loved that Bones, Ava and Dutch were there for her when she needs protection understanding, and hope.
I loved the chemistry that Leigh and Mountain had as it was off the charts even when he was being a douche but, for some ungodly reason, he made her feel safe even if those moments were few and far between.
Overall I loved the story that was full of pain and regrets and misgivings and guilt and one of sorrow. The story was also full of drama and darkness and one of abuse and sickness and cruelty. The constant drama and intrigue were enough to keep us glued to the pages the entire time and one that definitely tugged at the reader's heart-strings for the pain and suffering that these characters had been enduring past and present made it a story that was heartfelt and one filled with a ton of emotion.
