Blurb

She's headed for the big time...unless her heart gets stopped at the pass. "

"Country Fever, Book 4"

Forty-two-year-old single father Griffin Turner couldn't have made it through colic and calving season without his mother's babysitting services. But just when he thinks he's got the hardest part of the infant learning curve licked, he gets devastating news. Mom is sick. And Griffin is forced to hire a nanny.

With nothing but twenty dollars in her pocket and her voice, Nola Brady wants to leave small-town Wyoming to pursue her dreams in Nashville. She answers Griffin's ad to keep body and soul together until her big chance arrives. Love isn't even on her radar...until she unexpectedly falls for the rough-and-playful cowboy.

Between the sheets, they're poetry. Outside the bedroom, he inspires her to be more woman than she ever dreamed possible, which scares her enough to put on the brakes...and hit the road.

But if she thought he'd just let her leave quietly, she was wrong. Because hell hath no fury like a cowboy in love...especially one with a baby on his hip. And a ring with her name on it.

Warning: This cowboy daddy is determined to make a May/September romance work-even if he has to lay down his palm or his mouth on a round ass cheek to do it.

Our Review

This is a new author for me.I enjoy reading erotica romance from time to time and this turned out to be an enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed the main characters of the story they were easy to relate to and very like able.I would have to say that Griffin had to be my favorite character.

Griffin was one sexy hot cowboy.I was falling for him myself from the beginning after reading the first few pages of this story.Who wouldn't? A single guy raising his daughter on his own.Griffin loved his daughter Lyric with his whole heart. He had overwhelming responsibilities and pressures at home his mother with cancer ,trying to tend to his ranch alone his stock dying off, worrying about Lyric's welfare and paying off the student loans for Lyric's mother. With all that Griffin seemed to hold it together most of the time. You really felt the sadness that surrounded him. Meeting Nola was the best thing to happen to him a bright light at the end of a dark tunnel.

Loved Nola's personality what a feisty cowgirl she was. With the big dreams of making it big and becoming a country singer. You had to love her determination and her drive to pursue her dream .Nola knows what she wants and just goes for it.She has a very passionate and loving heart. One of the things I noticed about her is that she always seemed so full of life.

With working toward her dream Nola takes a nanny position taking care of Lyric Griffin Turner's daughter. The sparks fly between this couple from the very beginning well maybe I should say flames instead.Nola knowing the job is temporary for her tries to ignore what seems to between the two of them. Not only does she plan to leave but, Griffin is  almost 20 years her senior. How does she protect herself from falling in loving with this fabulous family ?

Wow ! One hot read. The romantic sex scene's  between this couple  were hot and sizzling for sure. Not only that they had genuine affection and friendship for one another. They really lit up the sheets together. The couple made each encounter fun and sexy.

A relationship doomed from the very beginning.I was rooting for a happy ever after for this couple .They were perfect for one another and would make a beautiful family.Griffin is ready to settle down and Nola wants her dream. But, heartbreak is looming in the future for both.

Loved begin part of Nola's and Griffin's adventure. The couple had so many obstacles to overcome.Neither looking for love but found it.Do you embrace a love like this that only comes once in ones lifetime or walk away? I really enjoyed this story with all its joys and sorrows.A fun fast pace read .The story was engaging from beginning to end with just enough spice.

A recommend erotic tale not overly done but , with just enjoy fire.Looking forward to reading  other stories from this author.Great job ! Well done !Love those sexy cowboys !

A FIGHTING CHANCE
By A.J. Sand
New Adult/Adult Romantic Suspense
Released February 4, 2014
Jesse Chance is a bastard.
And that’s all he heard his entire life growing up once news got out that he was the illegitimate child of womanizing ex-con, Henry Chance.
Stuck in Glory, Texas, a town too small to escape the sins of his parents, Jesse turned into exactly what everyone expected him to be: a lover of liquor and women, and so good with his fists, he became a teenage champion of the secret underground fighting rings that float around the South, while doubting the only people who ever believed he could be more, his ailing mother, and his girlfriend, Drew Hallisay.
But determined to make his mother’s dying wish come true, he enrolled in a college on the East Coast, far away from his past. Jesse Chance is reborn into a new life, and set on keeping Glory, Texas--and Henry Chance--in his rear view.
Until a visit from his father in the middle of the night changes everything.
Forced to return to Glory to prevent a tragedy, Jesse is soon back on the fighting circuit with Drew's help and facing the history he was so desperate to escape, the part of him he would prefer to hide.
As he slips back into his old ways--Henry Chance's ways--he finds himself torn between the guy he was and the one he’s been struggling to become. And in a world dead set on betting against you, can you ever really overcome your past… or your destiny?

Favorite Quotes from A Fighting Chance
By A.J. Sand

“I just see a man. A man making innumerable sacrifices, so that he can stop the real monsters.”

A.J.: Drew says this to Jesse. Jesse really hates that fighting affects him the way it does. He sees himself as a monster because of it, and she doesn’t. And there’s nothing I love more than when someone else sees something beautiful in you that you don’t see yet. It was one of the first lines I ever wrote in the entire story. It sums up how she feels about him, and it felt like such a touching moment in what’s otherwise a really crazy story.
___
“F*****g with me or my money is a death wish. You either fight for me or you get the f**k out of fighting. That’s it. Those are your only choices. Be grateful you even have any…because I can make it for you, if you prefer. I will put one of these clubs in your hand and a gun to your head and make you put Ulysses out of his misery. Then you’d be so far f*****g down this rabbit hole with me.”

A.J.: Ramón Vega, probably the scariest person in the entire book, says this. He’s really brutal. Sometimes it catches you off guard just how unnecessarily brutal he is, and how unapologetic he is about it. With this quote, he’s just beaten the living crap out of one of his henchmen (with a golf club) to prove a point to Jesse about what happens when people don’t obey him. It was a great scene for me writing it, but when I reread it, I actually got a chill. It’s so frightening just how little regard he has for human life.
