Posey Jensen is a friend collector, boyfriend avoider, and thrill seeker. When someone posts in a group chat looking for a wedding date to Bermuda, Posey jumps on the chance to prove to a new friend that she’s the reigning queen of adventure. But even she’s not prepared for Brent Faulkner: Olympic swimmer, Northern University star, and the only guy she’s ever thirsted after.

Brent Faulkner has a +1 for his friend’s wedding he can’t fill—and zero desire for another relationship. He's married to his sport, and girlfriends are never happy mistresses. When he posts in Northern University's group chat seeking a seat filler, someone named Jensen replies, and Brent figures a bros weekend will be just what he needs.

Little does he know, Jensen is Posey Jensen, and she's diving into his life to change his priorities forever.

My phone chimes in my hand with a text from Monica.

Check the group chat I sent you. A sweet weekend away.

Opening the chat, I scroll to the post from a BF with a Captain America avatar. Inside I release an ugh before I read the post.

Weekend wedding in Bermuda. Flight leaves at 10 pm. Back Monday at noon. Looking for my +1. Those with drama need not apply. Pay own flight. Hotel is all inclusive.

Instead of texting Monica back, I hit call and press the phone to my ear. She’ll be in the car with her boyfriend, but I’m not replying to this post. The guy sounds like an idiot.

“Do it,” Monica says when she answers.

“Two initials and a Captain America avatar? He’s going to be the worst. A sleazy, misogynistic jerk.”

Monica cackles over the phone. “You’re judging that hard over initials and an avatar?”

“‘Those with drama need not apply,’” I say. “He might as well scrawl ‘I’ve got issues’ at the end of his post.”

“Oh, I see what it’s like,” Monica says. “You’re all talk.”

“What?” I sit up straighter on the couch.

“In class you were all ‘I seek adventure’ and ‘my extravert-loving heart,’ but when an opportunity drops in your lap, you’re not taking it?” She tsks. “Something better than a trip to Bermuda come up?”

“I have to pay for my flight.”

“That’s a bonus—you can leave early if he really is a sleazy jerk.” She hums over the phone. “Never mind. Someone else replied. I gotta go. Devon doesn’t like it when I talk on the phone when he’s driving. He wants his tunes cranked.”

“Have a good weekend,” I say again before hanging up.

I click into the chat and stare at the exchange of messages. Shared hotel room, but separate beds.

They’re still hashing out details.

I’ll come.

I send the response before I can second-guess myself.

The bubbles pop up under my response.

DM’d you.

In my private messages, I find a picture of flight details and a link to purchase. Other girl was wasting my time. If you’re serious, book this and screenshot as a reply.

Once I’m on the airline page, I grab the credit card that my parents still pay out of my wallet. There have to be some perks to being abandoned on a long weekend. I don’t allow my brain to engage as I type in all my details and press on the pay now button. While the payment processes, a brief shot of panic spikes in me. This guy could be anyone, and not in a good way.

A boarding pass appears on my screen and a thank you for my payment.

God, that was expensive. It’s a good thing he’s paying for everything else. At least I can justify it to my parents that way.

I screenshot the transaction and send it to BF in our private chat. He sends me another picture of the hotel name and location. Immediately, I save it to my phone, and then I text it to Monica.

In case he’s a murderer. This is where I’m supposed to be for the weekend.

Monica responds immediately with an LOL and heart eyes. One of us is a bad influence, and I’m starting to think it’s not me.

When I click back over to the chat with BF, he’s left another message.

I’ll text you at the airport. Glad you’re a dude. So tired of the drama!

I frown at the message. He thinks I’m a dude? Why would he think I’m a guy? On my chat profile, the other shoe drops. My avatar is a J in Bellerive blue, and the only name visible is my last one: Jensen.

My fingers hover over my keyboard. I’ve already paid for my flight. Do I tell him I’m a drama-rama girl or leave him to be surprised at the airport?

My lips twist into a smile.

See you tonight!

Blurb

Three days a week I work your everyday nine-to-five. The paperwork is never-ending. The pay is mediocre, and the office drama is simply intolerable. But the other four days a week, I am my own boss.

My name is Jennifer Sunshine and I am a Vegas Call Girl.
My clients range from frat boys on spring break to multimillionaire business men with stuffy wives and less than ideal equipment.

I don’t have a daddy-complex or some kind of sob story.
I don’t need the money, but it is nice.
The only thing I crave is the exhilarating feeling I get from being in control of something. Anything.

My life is uncomplicated, simple even.
That was until he bulldozed his way into my life, and everything changed.
Overnight he makes me realize how much I truly need him.

Our Review

This is the story of Jenny Sunshine, a Bad-ass business woman, a Vegas Call Girl. A life she chose for herself. That is until she meets her match in Mathis. And I certainly can’t imagine waking up in Jennifer’s situation after a drunken night at Mathis’ club, but she sure does stand her ground with him lol.

“No Mathis listen to me,” I paused and lifted my head to make eye contact with him across the table. I felt weak and my demeanor changed. For some reason I felt as though I was about to hurt him, even though it was an absolutely foolish thought “I’m a call girl. I have sex with men like you, for large sums of money four days a week.” When I exhaled, I say and waited, watching a number of emotions run across his face. Mathis wore his heart on his sleeve. He may play the part of a badass but when we are alone, here in home, I could see it was all a facade.

“You what?” his voice was quiet. He set the cup of coffee onto the table, increased his legs and stood.

I should gear the altercation that was coming, because honestly I hate fighting. But for some ducked up reason I loves fighting with him.

His strides were quick and before I knew it, he was pulling me up from my chair into his arms. He held me right against his body without saying a word and we just stood there for what felt like an eternity in this simple embrace. I didn’t know how much time passed until he finally spoke.

“Jennifer?”

I nod and let out a little grunt to acknowledge him.

“That is over now. Money is not an issue. I will do anything and everything to take care of you. You don’t need to have sex for money anymore.”

His words are like a slap to the face, but then again why should I expect him to understand my life. No one would.

“It isn’t about the money Mathis, it never was.” I pulled away and started walking toward the bedroom. If I get there quickly insight can lock myself in the bathroom and plan my getaway.

“Then tell me Jennifer. Please.” He stopped as I continues to walk away.

Do I answer him? Do I give him the satisfaction of knowing how much of an absolute whore I am? Do I really want him know how much I love sex, even though I don’t plan on having it with him? Ever.

“Mathis. It’s about the sex. But, you wouldn’t understand.”

I have to tell you I really love this “fight” that Jennifer and Mathis have. Internal battles and all. This story was just what I needed while sitting at a softball field for my daughters practice for 4 hours. LOL I was laughing one minute and down right mad the next. Not mad at these two but mad at the butt faces in the story but boy do I love that Jennifer, that girl sure can hold her own.

When Jennifer comes clean with who and what she is Mathis takes it in stride and says “NO MORE” instead of “GET OUT”. And when Mathis comes clean with his legal and “illegal” activities, well Jennifer takes that in stride and instead of running turns it into a business opportunity for herself. I so loved that. Talk about a business woman.

Now it would be very remiss of me to not mention the sex in here. Lets just say, a cooler full of ice cold bottles of water, the air conditioning in your vehicle, a cold shower will not cool off this book. WOW the sex scenes in this story are beyond sizzling. There is no lack of it between these two. Each one wanting to have the power over the other but then succumbing to the other. That push and pull thing they had going on made for some very steamy sex scenes.

Absolutely loved this story, and if you want to find out if past history comes back to destroy these two or if they come together and rise above and get their HEA, run on over and get your copy now because when I say it is worth it – IT IS WORTH IT!!!

But Skye’s about to discover that no matter how far you run, love can find you anywhere.

Our Review

This is one of the sweetest, tenderest, most heartfelt, touching, moving books I have ever read. Skye was finally going to follow a dream she has had for years to backpack across Europe, the timing wasn't good for some. Mainly her mother and the fiance she left behind. At the last minute her friend has to go home. Skye decides to stay and fulfill her dream. Standing in the station trying to decide where to begin her journey, a journey to find herself again, she meets Asher and the story begins.

This book is a journey of honoring lost loved ones, finding your courage, enjoying life, and falling in love. Skye and Asher end up taking this journey together. Asher is backpacking across Europe in honor of his brother and as they travel he opens up more to Skye as she does with him. He is tender and gentle and kind with Skye something she is not used to. And she finds herself falling for him even as she fights it.

The banter and playfulness between them is so fun to read and Asher is just down right charming, whitty, caring, calming, friendly, sweet and tender and all of that wrapped up into one hot bundle of a man. He takes Skye on the backpack journey of a lifetime and before they know it, earlier than expected their time comes to an end. She stands there at the train station watching him leave her heart broken. She was in love and didn't tell him.

But OMG that video - you have to read the book I wont spoil it, OMG the video I had huge alligator tears, you need tissue for this moment. Oh and for her arrival back to the states you will need them then to. She is heading home to the lionesses den (mother dearest) but what is waiting for her.....
I gave this book 5 Hearts it is by far one of the best contemporary romance novels I have ever read. J Meyers has outdone herself. I am a huge fan of her writing and have read every single one of her books. Her Young Adult Paranormal are truly amazing pieces of work. Her step into this genre is sealed with this book. Well done.
