I never should have grown out my hair.

That’s where this whole thing started.

I was too rigid. Too organized.

And nobody failed to point that out to me.

So, I grew my hair out to prove them wrong.

Now I had a fake career as a model,

all in the name of keeping a woman named Juliette safe.

I knew I would end up regretting this job.

And it wasn’t just because I didn’t know the first thing about modeling.

That seemed to handle itself every time I looked at her in front of the camera.

We were too dissimilar.

I liked healthy food, and she ate cereal right out of the box.

I liked a schedule, and she woke up late every damn day.

I was tall, and she could fit in my pocket.

Well, they weren’t great excuses, but they were all mine.

But she didn’t know the real me.

Hell, I lied to her every second of the day just to keep her by my side.

The threat against her was real.

But so was the fact that I was falling hard for her.

This story was downright hilarious we could not stop laughing out loud through the entire story. Royal aka Lock aka Jerrod was a hot mess and went kicking and screaming all the way with the assignment he was given. Julietee's character was the bomb she was a strong and independent woman full of sass had a sense of humor and down downright fierce no one with be walking all over this woman. Loved her relationship with her brother it was clear how fierce and protective they were of one another. Juliette was the perfect woman to shake up Lock's structured world which was full of seating arrangements and so much more. Loved her and Lock as a couple their chemistry was off the charts their witty banter Lock's possessive behavior along with his fierce protectiveness had nothing to do with the job alone. They were so hot together they burned up the sheets. From the moment Lock and Juliette met they fought the attraction to one another but, fate had something in store for this couple and it took them on a wild ride filled with mystery suspense, and a ton of humor. Loved seeing this couple all off-kilter because of one another they needed that in life to shake things up. Even with all the ups and downs, this couple had and how quickly they fell for one another and fell in love they teasingly planned a life together it was one of the best parts of the story. We loved those parts the most along with their imaginary future. We have to give a shout-out to Fox he makes these stories so much fun with his show tunes and his brand of craziness and let us not forget the Funyun saga as it's starting to rub off on other members as well. LOL The ending of this story was absolute perfection for this couple and so them. In the last few chapters, we could not stop laughing we laughed so hard it brought tears to our eyes. Loved Juliette's brand of craziness also especially when it came to starting her day with her breakfast routine she was such a delightful character and has been added to one of our favorite characters for 2023 she was priceless!

I wheezed in a breath. “She kicked me in the balls.”

His feet came into view as he bent down in front of me. The sympathy on his face was clear as day. So, I wasn’t alone. Maybe some woman kicked him in the balls before too. “Damn, are you gonna be okay?”

“You’re asking him if he’s going to be okay?” Juliette shrieked. “He was standing over me in my bedroom!”

He nodded in understanding. “Yeah, it happened to me once. Not the same situation, but she was wearing heels. Trust me, you got off easy.”

I believed him.

“I said she was beautiful, and she took offense to that. Apparently, she was one of those enlightened women that doesn’t like compliments on her looks. I’ve never said it to another woman.”

“Understandable,” I wheezed out.

“You want a hand up?”

I shook my head. “I’m good down here.”

“I can’t believe this!” Juliette snapped. “He attacked me and you’re taking his side?”

“Did he really attack you?” Andrew asked as he stood.

“Well…no, but you don’t know what he would have done if I hadn’t woken up!”

“Juliette, it’s time to leave. Is it possible that he was coming to wake you up and you were lying there naked?”

I peeked up to see her jaw hang open as she struggled to come up with a response. Okay, it wasn’t exactly how it happened, but close enough. I didn’t take off her towel. Okay, last night I snuck a peek, but that was last night. This morning, she rolled over all on her own. Her breasts were out and I struggled to look away. Any guy would. It was a fact of life that if breasts were out, a guy was going to look. It was like a train wreck. You knew you should look away, but you wanted to see the damage. Or, in the case of breasts, the beauty of them peeking up at you.

“Just go get dressed so we can leave,” Andrew sighed.

As she stormed out of the room, Andrew bent over and his face turned serious. “Still thinking about her breasts?”

I shook my head.

“Good. I would hate to have to kick another man in the balls.”

I'm a stay-at-home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because I could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on the blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.
