Onyx; balanced, strong, a guardian

She’s the voice of reason, advocates, and strategizes.

Supporting the team from the background, Onyx rarely goes out in the field. However, when a widespread child exploitation ring is discovered, her particular skill set is needed to get close.

Unfortunately, her boss—a man she’s never laid eyes on before—is dead set against her taking the lead. Outvoted, he finds a way to keep her in his sights, risking his own exposure.

We enjoyed Raj and Hamish/Jacobs's story.
The story drew you in from the moment we started turning the pages it was filled with suspense, emotion, romance, attraction, lies and deceit, character chemistry, and a team of members willing to make sacrifices to save others. We love how invested the team members are in each and every case that comes to their door. You have to appreciate agencies such as Gem and what they stand for.

Raj for someone who mostly stays in the background did a fantastic job going undercover. Loved that it's a team effort when taking down the bad guys. Loved that this story had some twists to it and the fact things like secrets were coming to light faster than planned. We also love the fact that although there is always a new mission a continuing one is always working in the background. We loved the chemistry between this couple it was quite endearing. We also loved that Raj is finding her own slice of happiness as well as putting some of her demons to rest.

Overall this was a fast-paced read and we loved it. Loved the cast of characters and loved that on some level certain characters were getting their own brand of revenge along with some sort of closure. We enjoyed the fact that more than a few surprises popped up making things even more interesting. Glad that Raj and Jacob we reunited once again. We really enjoyed this series.

Pearl Book Two Our Thoughts

We think that Janey and Lee quickly became one of our favorite couples the quick witty banter that went on between them was priceless. Lee sees the prickly woman as a challenge and he is up for it and boy his antics made us smile. Loved them as a couple and their sexual chemistry.

We enjoyed the plot as it was fast-paced and suspenseful and we liked the fact that whatever current case going on factors or somehow into all their current cases or it's just pure coincidence.

We really loved Lee and how well he worked with the others and always seemed to pop up in the most unusual places. The is also more than meets the eye with this guy he notices things others don't and is very perceptive and notices something strange that the others haven't and we think he is on to something.

Overall we can say we loved this one. We love that love is found under the most unusual circumstances and that these woman who have been through so much in their lives find a slice of happiness. Their author infused just enough humor into the story to offset the seriousness of it all.

Just wanted to add a personal note about my thoughts regarding the Gem series. Although this series is fictional and the characters the plot is based on dealing with human and child trafficking and is a very real problem across the globe in our world today. We are experiencing a worldwide epidemic regarding it. Over 800,000 go missing are trafficked here in the USA alone and that number is from years ago and has grown substantially. The US ranked the number one hotspot destination for children being trafficked in the world.  See something suspect something say something you can perhaps save a life. These criminals hide in plain sight they infiltrate and start charities and the name of helping victims yet they are the very criminals who carry out those crimes behind the scenes they set up charities for that is fact, not fiction. Do your research and protect your child at all costs they are God's light workers and we need to protect them the best we can. All parents should be watching the movie The Sound of Freedom as it is based on a true story filled with facts of just how many children are trafficked for sex as well as organ harvesting each and every year. It's a great movie to start researching the subject of human trafficking that makes people uncomfortable but, you need to go down that rabbit hole to protect the ones you love.
