BLURB
Murderer. Knockout. Buried. Tormented. The image the world sees is not the man that I have become. Images of me, of what I have done to another man, fill my mind. Nightmares fill my life, day or night, it doesn’t matter. All I see is death.   Enabler. Trash. Hidden. Scandalous. The image the town sees of me is not who I have become. What I do late at night, to make ends meet, consumes me. I have no future. No prospects. No money. I’ve always tried to hide the fact that I’m nothing.  Images we try to uphold are lies that we present to the outside world. Masks are all that we show, even to our closest friends. Nobody knows what lies beneath the surface. Nobody will ever know.

I  am really on the fence about this one on what my feelings are about this current story.I liked it but didn't love it and I think the reason why that is because of Tulip .I loved Tulip in the fact that she is truly a down to earth and loving and caring individual she is so sweet kind and understanding but, the fact that she constantly kept putting herself down and kept self sabotaging herself really just got on my nerves .

Louis was a hot mess in this story but, once he straightened himself out he pursued the one thing that was going to complete his own happiness.I loved Louis in the fact he was always open and honest about his feelings some of them were ugly but, his feelings about Tulip were always honest and genuine and we loved how her saw her in a light that Tulip never saw herself but, also that the people within her circle that called themselves her family saw what Louis saw in Tulip and we just loved that.

On a whole we loved Tulip and Louis as a couple they had tons of chemistry between them and were definitely compatible in the bedroom that lead to a lot of sexy times that were hotter then hell.

Overall I have to say that there were a lot of parts of the story that I really loved a lot and other not so much and that always stemmed from Tulips actions and deeds and her blatant disregard for her safety that bordered on stupidity and I kept having to remind myself time and  time again this is only a book of fiction because this character was nothing but , frustrating for me .So part of me understands Tulip and why in part why she see's herself the way that she did but, we saw only the goodness and kindness and potential she had in herself and how determined she was to carved out a better life for herself and we loved the fact that one man fought for both of their happiness and saw what we all saw in Tulip .

There is no doubt Ms Faiman  knows how to write one heck of a hot and sexy read because this couple burned up the sheets. We have to say the suspenseful side of the story was a bit surprising and we loved the fact we didn't see the story playing out as we had envisioned it and we love when that happens. We enjoyed the women and men that have of been a big part of this series be a big part of this current tale as we have come to love them all as they really have created a amazing  family out a bunch of misfits .

  EXCERPT

My thoughts drift back to Louis, to the way that his arms felt around me. I didn’t deserve him then and I don’t deserve him now. I was selfish and let myself indulge in all that was him. But I knew that I couldn’t let it go on. It wouldn’t be right, because he deserves someone in his class. I’m nothing but trash, always have been. I’ve allowed myself to throw my self-worth to the side for a man who does nothing but take from me. He gives me nothing, not a single thing, not even orgasms. Louis Kingston deserves someone who knows her self-worth, who is strong and not weak like me. He should be with literally anybody but me. I’m weak, pathetic, and kind of sad, which is why I stay with Joey when I know that he’s worthless.

Cassandra:

He's a killer. And he’s taking me for a ride.

Jack Hardy. Navy SEAL. Convicted murderer. I thought I’d seen the last of those piercing blue eyes, and that sculpted, dangerous body. Until I found out he’d escaped from prison.

He’s in my apartment, waiting for me in the dark. He jumps me, and tells me we're going for a drive. But what does he want with me, the woman who exposed his crime and put him behind bars?

Jack:

I've got my eye on her. Cassandra Holloway: straight-cut, law-abiding journalist. The woman who made it her mission to put me away.

And now, she’s the only one who can help me. Sure, I need her to keep me clear my name—but it doesn’t hurt that she’s hotter than a five-alarm fire.

She’s never been bad like I’ve been bad, but this time, she's gonna get dirty.

I’m going to prove to her I didn’t do it, and we’re going to find the one who did…

KILLER is a steamy romantic thriller; the story of a tenacious journalist, and a hard-bodied criminal, wrongfully accused of murder, and their journey to expose the truth, confronting their own blistering hot passions along the way! It’s a stand alone, with a guaranteed HEA!

This was a light fun read .The characters had chemistry and sparks between them.I found that they both had a sense of humor.I found the story to flow quickly as Jack and Cass team up to prove him innocent of  a murder he has already been convicted of. I enjoyed the plot that had a reporter and and ex navy seal /bounty hunter teaming up as they made a cute couple and worked well together. They both had different strengths in their abilities which were needed to solve this murder together I found Jack and Cass as characters to be quite like able.

I enjoyed the story but , for me it lacked  that heightened suspense that a story like this needs especially when you have a character like Jack with that bad boy rep .There weren't really enough twists or mishaps thrown in the mix as they say for me and I felt that the story just got solved way to quickly .

But, that being said  I would  give this author works another try after reading this tale.

"The fact I feel anything should let me know I’m headed in the wrong direction, headed down a path of darkness, destruction, and failure. A path that will dig out memories so painful I’ve created an entire persona to avoid dealing with them. Yet I know—I’m going down that path headfirst no questions asked, no matter the outcome.
I might be a monster, but I’m a selfish one."—Keller Keating

"When his strength envelops me, every wrong becomes right, every anxiety melts away, every doubt disappears. I feel calm, safe, whole. The spark of life that’s been missing inside burns bright, lighting me up like a solar flare, sizzling white-hot through my veins. Keller brings me out of the darkness and into the light."—Britton Reeves

Our Review

Above says everything that needs to be said about what this book is about. I first saw this book at the recent Authors in the City 2016 signing. It was my first time meeting author Heather C. Leigh and she has this book on her table display and the cover grabbed my attention. I picked up the book, read the synopsis and said I will be downloading this book and reading it and when I got home I did exactly that. I had to finish the book I was reading so I could hurry and get to this one. Let me say buying this book was well worth every penny spent. This book is so good I spent 2 nights up until 2:30 in the morning reading it. Yeah I was a zombie at work but it was well worth it.

Britton and Keller go to the same high school. She knows who he is, he doesn't know who she is. Keller is the guy all guys envy, the party boy jock who gets all the girls. Britton is the girl who wants to be one of those girls, he has no clue, and she just wishes.

Then the fateful day and both of their lives are completely turned upside down and inside out. Nothing is ever the same for either one of them after that day. Keller heads down a path of destruction and becomes what he thinks he is, he builds up this impenetrable wall, doesn't let anyone near or in, hates himself and everyone around him, it's easier that way.

Britt, fights every day to move on, to survive, to not live in the past, not be a victim. She has suffered a lot from that fateful day so many years ago but she has overcome a lot and has moved on, has a great life working at an MMA gym, all the guys there respect her, and they make her feel "somewhat safe" in her tormented life. Then in walks "Killer" and right away she knows there is something about him.

The two of them together are like fireworks, his magnetic silver eyes, his strength, the smile he has only let her see, for the first time in 10 years she feels something she has never felt "SAFE". For the first time in 10 years he feels something he has never felt "ALIVE".

This may be a happily ever after book, but let me tell you, what Britt and Killer (aka Keller) go through to get there its almost like going through hell and back. The secrets each one is holding onto, the desire each one has, the destruction both can bring, the fight to get there. Makes this book absolutely amazing. They may have a past brought on by a horrible tragedy, but what comes of it, a blessing. Truly the best book I have read so far this year.

About the Author
I write about the 'dark' side of fame. The part that the public doesn't get to see, how difficult it is to live in a fishbowl and how that affects relationships.

Heather was born and raised in New England and currently lives outside Atlanta, GA with her husband, 2 kids, and French Bulldog, Shelby.

She loves the Red Sox, the Patriots, and anything chocolate (but not white chocolate, everyone knows it's not real chocolate so it doesn't count) and has left explicit instructions in her will to have her ashes snuck into Fenway Park and sneakily sprinkled all over while her family enjoys beer, hot dogs, and a wicked good time.

My favorite authors are Dan Wells, Ken Follett, and Stephen King.

Happy reading!
