To save his reputation, he’ll help with the unlikeliest case...

His family name is being dragged through the mud, but Caleb Colton is about righting wrongs. So when activist Nadine Sutherland’s father is wronged by a shady oil company, Caleb vows to help. Someone doesn’t want Nadine poking into the deal, and threats begin escalating. But as Caleb works overtime with passionate Nadine, guarding his heart gets harder...and so does staying alive!

This Romantic Suspense novel is the first book in the Colton's of Colorado series, and it sets a promising tone for the rest of the series. The story is filled with twists and turns, featuring a compelling cast of characters. Both Caleb and Morgan are dedicated workaholics, with Caleb's commitment costing him his marriage. The characters are well-developed and engaging. Caleb and Nadine make a dynamic pair, sharing a deep connection and understanding of each other's passions and struggles. Their chemistry is intense and captivating, enhanced by their witty banter and Nadine's strong, independent nature. Nadine's fierce determination and belief in justice mirror Caleb and his sister's commitment to righting wrongs from the past. The suspenseful elements and action sequences in the story are well-executed, keeping the plot moving at a brisk pace. As first-time readers of this author, we are intrigued to see where this series will go next. If you're looking for a light, enjoyable read with engaging characters and an intriguing plot, this book is a perfect choice.
