The Black Dagger Brotherhood series Book 21

Destiny, duty, and desire clash in this epic new novel in J.R. Ward’s #1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

Lassiter, the fallen angel, is too good at the savior business. In his new role overseeing the fates of all vampires, he’s influenced outcomes he shouldn’t have—so the Creator is calling him home. But the angel has a reason to stay in Caldwell. He’s bonded with a mysterious female who seemed to appear from out of nowhere...and has powers that defy all reason.

Rahvyn is well aware that she doesn’t belong in the present. And she never intended to stay, for her true place is in the past. Lassiter proves to be undeniable, however, and she lets herself fall for the angel—until a secret he’s been keeping comes out and she fears that for him, it’s not about love, but duty.

As the Omega’s son reestablishes the Lessening Society, and the Brotherhood must resume the deadly war, an unfathomable tragedy occurs. In the aftermath, Rahvyn has to decide whether to stay and help—or save herself from an immortal heartbreak she knows will crush her very soul...

Lassiter is a highly anticipated book among fans of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. He is a character who leaves a lasting impression. While he may not have been my favorite BDB character, we were intrigued to see what kind of happy ending he would get, especially after seeing the stunning cover! Lassiter provided a satisfying conclusion to this part of the series and set the stage for a new direction with the next generation. As a devoted fan of the original books that established the rich society created by Ms Ward. We understand the sentiment of some reviewers who long for the magic of those early books. While it may be challenging to replicate that perfection, Lassiter had its own special moments. Rahvyn and Lassiter made a compelling couple, with Rahvyn's fierce and steel-like demeanor complementing Lassiter's character. Their dynamic was captivating, with moments of surprise, heartbreak, and eventual reconciliation that resonated with me. Lassiter's vulnerability and inner turmoil added depth to his character, making him more relatable and endearing. In my opinion, Lash and Devina served as formidable adversaries for our heroes in this story. Their over-the-top personalities added a layer of intrigue and unpredictability to the plot, making their interactions with the main characters engaging and entertaining.
Lassiter ties up loose ends in the BDB world while paving the way for a new generation of vampires. The story is filled with weddings, funerals, surprises, and the eternal struggle between good and evil. It encapsulates the essence of what drew me to these characters and the captivating world of the BDB. I found Lassiter to be a gripping read that kept me engaged from start to finish. The action-packed scenes and reunions with beloved characters added to the overall enjoyment of the book. Despite missing some of the previous books in the series, I had no trouble following the storyline in Lassiter, making it accessible to both new and returning readers. The poignant conclusion of this chapter in the series resonated with me on many levels. The return to familiar themes and characters brought a sense of closure and continuity long-time fans will appreciate. I appreciated how Lassiter brought a sense of finality to this generation of the BDB world while hinting at new beginnings. The book instilled confidence in the series' ability to evolve and remain captivating, setting the stage for an exciting journey with the next generation. I am eager to see what challenges lie ahead, particularly with L.W.'s mysterious storyline. We wholeheartedly recommend Lassiter to fans of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. The blend of action, romance, and character development made for a compelling read, and the groundwork laid for the future of the series promises more thrilling adventures to come. Don't miss out on this captivating installment!
