His military career was his greatest accomplishment.  And now, he's flailing and fumbling as he searches for purpose in a world that doesn't seem to value him at all. So when his sister lands him a job in North Carolina, Ollie is reluctant to accept.

Veterinarian Paisley Smythe is in over her head. She needs help with her choices in life, and she's striking out left and right. But when a friend reaches out for help she meets the one man that could be the saving grace that she's needed all along. However, the rugged, handsome, and broken man may need her more than she needs him.

As Paisley and Ollie work together caring for the animals and saving the clinic and shelter, something sparks between them. Ollie's injuries force him to believe he's not enough for Paisley. And Paisley's past demons destroy her confidence in relationships. Can they both find a way to heal in one another's arms?

**Readers, please note: This book was previously published in 2022 as Survivor: A Salvation Society Novel. Content has been modified.**

Ollie's recovery was a heartfelt read. As in Ollie's case everyone deals with their demons from war physical and mental differently but, in Ollie's case her had a great support system his sister helped him in his journey to recovery and gave him a push or shove when he needed it. In Ollie's case, his sister's wisdom set him off in the right direction and it was up to him to put in the work and heal both mentally and physically. Never doubt the power of what animals can do when it comes to helping a man heal his soul. Love that past characters intertwined with this current story and the characters themselves. We loved Paisley and what she stood for the love and compassion for animals and that big large heart of hers. Enjoyed the fact that Ollie and Paisley had a lot in common and that was helping and protecting others. It was wonderful to see Ollie and Paisley conquer their demons and find one another. Such a touching story that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Grey and Abigale's story was very touching and was very heartwarming and emotional. We loved the characters in this one and loved that past characters graced this story as well love that our favorite characters live on in other series. This story starts with a bang it is emotional, heartbreaking suspenseful. This story breaks your heart and wants to bring you to tears. The injustices in the world are horrific for both humans and animals but, Grey found that something good came out of such tragedies. We loved how protective and supportive Abigale's family was and I am a big fan of her mom she rocks and kicks butt. We fell in love with Abigale her personality and what she stands for and that big old heart of hers. A compelling read packed with healing. love, growth, friendship, healing. It is amazing the healing powers animals have when it comes to humans and vice versa. We enjoyed the fact that Grey found someone and something to help him mend that tortured soul of his and Abigale was a big part of that with her love devotion and compassion she had. This story touches one's heart and we enjoyed it immensely. PS. Loved the cover it's beautiful and just perfect for this story stunning!
