I would kill for a normal life, but my father took a reckless gamble, and I must pay the price. His betrayal forces me to live in Faerie with king Damian and grow my magic, even though it’s forbidden.

Now, I must learn to protect myself from the nightmares, dreams, and fantasies that govern this mysterious realm.

If I don’t, my kingdom will fall.

Nothing will get in the way of my duty, not even a witty beauty like Penelope Darcy.

I’m in ruins, and the Shadow Court, too. The rules of the curse are simple. They draw our enemies away and keep us safe.

For her, I'd break all the rules, but I’ve got to tear her kingdom apart to survive.

This novel is a full-length fantasy romance with a happy ending, and though it's part of an interconnected series, it also stands alone.

Beauty and the Beast and Hades and Persephone collide in this enemies-to-lovers, forced-proximity fantasy romance. The mysterious Shadow King is hot as sin, and the secrets of his world will bring any mortals to their knees. Slow-burn. 18+. Full list of triggers inside.

This was one of the best reads I have read all year from the beginning we started turning the pages we were engrossed in this story and could not put it down.

This story was complex and heart-pounding and I spent the entire time on the seat of my pants. I loved the characters especially One from the moment he started calling Penelope/Penny aka Nell kitten this was going to be one of those forbidden romances full of intrigue.

Nell was one of my favorite characters she was brave and strong and had a sense of humor like a pit bull when she wanted and was very clever she made the most of her predicament and would not give up or give in. We loved that she was not alone and that Lori became a friend and ally.

There was something about One that drew us to him from the moment we met him and with all the intrigue that surrounded him and the mystery and suspense we knew there was something different about him and that there was more to the man that meets the eye. All in all the brothers were interesting too.

I loved all the twists and turns the story took in the slow-burn romance between One and Nell that seemed impossible until things took a turn once again. This story was full of secrets and lies betrayals, and had more than a few OMG! moments some you did not see coming. The characters were fantastic and we loved them all.

Overall this was a compelling read for us that we could not put down to the bitter end. The ending was fantastic the power of love proves anything is possible. We can't wait to see what happens next.
