This was a great read in this ongoing series it was emotionally full of reckonings and had a bit of unfinished business swirling around.
Silas is an older character who falls for a younger woman named Sawyer both have pasts that follow them, and they have regrets they carry their demons and are perfect for one another. Loved that we learned more about Silas's secret life and the secrets he keeps. The man is a total alpha in and out of the bedroom. Sawyer and his chemistry was off the charts. Fan-worthy character.
Sawyer is a character who is sexy and bold and even though she is strong for enduring what she went through she is just as vulnerable However, we feel that Silas pushed her in the direction she needed to be instead of drowning in her emotions.
Sometimes when you have such a large age gap between characters you get that ick factor but, we never felt that with these characters they were perfect for one another and met one another at the perfect time when they needed each other the most. We saw growth for both characters as both were good at hiding their feelings but, they know each other so well both see what they each try to hide and with that comes healing as both know what each other needs.
This series is great the characters are awesome and this author makes you fall in love with her characters time and time again and it was easy to fall for Sawyer and Silas. One thing we love with each series this author writes is the fact that characters from other series intermingle all the time. You will laugh and feel like you want to cry but, most of the time you will have a smile on your face throughout the book as Sawyer's personality is infectious she makes you laugh because you never know what will come out of her mouth next.
PS Listened to this one in audiobook and loved the narrators we have to thank our local library for making it available to us to read they are awesome.
