Wyatt “Ransom” Logan had worn a Westside Skulls kutte for five years.
On the exterior, he was all man, but inside he was broken.
Stolen from his family and his life at the tender age of six had set the tone for the rest of his life, and twenty years later he still felt like he was running from monsters...except that now they lived inside of him, and he couldn't escape.
Two years out of an emotionally abusive relationship, Luna Evans had just started to regain her independence and her confidence.
Then one night while recharging alone in the wilderness, she's savagely attacked.
She's left bloody and beaten on a private road leading to a cabin that belonged to a man who was just as lost as she was.
Alone, Luna, and Ransom's demons threaten to drown them in darkness.
But together can these two young lovers find their way back out into the light?
Ransom's story is one that was heartfelt and emotional. Because of Wyatt aka Ranson being kidnapped as a child, he carries around with him so many demons, and he has never been able to let them go but, after meeting Luna, he craves a life of being normal once again and perhaps together they can finally put those demons to rest.
Luna was a character who had previously been in an abusive relationship and she herself had been working on herself but, she too carries around a lot of insecurities so in a lot of ways she connected with Wyatt on some level and understood the war that waged inside him. Talk about Luna being in the wrong place and the right time, but, her misfortunes lead her to Wyatt's doorstep.
From the moment you turned the pages, the story was filled with a ton of suspense, which kept you glued to the pages. There was a lot going on in this story as there was Luna mystery to solve but, you had Ransom working on himself which lead to him finally seeking answers that lead to his kidnapping which he may or may not have been ready to hear.
My broke time and time again hearing Wyatt's story and the tortures he endured. The plot, of course, is full of secrets past ones and present ones as Dax played a part in Ransom's story which can never be spoken about which makes seeking answers and putting the past to rest a bit tricky.
Overall we love the story and the hi's and lows it brought. We loved how Wyatt was with his dog and how he cared and loved the little guy. Those moments were heart-melting. We loved the club and its members and how supportive they all were and everything that he was going through. My heart also hurt for Wyatt in the fact that he didn't have the kind of family to have your back as Luna did but, he had a better and loving family with the Skulls. The story was full of surprises all around, and we love it when the happens makes the story all the more intriguing.
Luna and Ransom had chemistry galore and were just perfect for one another and just what the other needed to continue their healing path. Fate had a crazy way of bringing this couple together but, we loved being on their emotional journey with them where they found love and happiness, something both had been seeking for a very long time.
