5 stars from us
Death. Destruction. Pain. A soulless void. It’s his life. It’s his reality.
Emo doesn’t feel. Anything. His soul is dark and filled with hatred. People in the small town of Malus watch him with fear, with reverence. Exactly the way he prefers it.
Guilt surrounds him, caging him in an ominous past he refuses to let go. Can’t let go. His past is responsible for the shell of the man who now exists. He doesn’t know any other way to survive.
The woman who haunts his dreams is his only salvation. He’s hurt her over and over again. He didn’t have a choice.
The key he holds on to, the one he uses to carve into his flesh, is the key to his hell. It’s his reminder of the pain he’s suffered and inflicted.
Will there be retribution? Can Emo be saved? Or is he destined to live in this dark hell he’s surrounded himself in for the rest of his life?

What an incredible ending to and an amazing series. This story was heartfelt and heart-wrenching, and it was also emotional and dark and intense and quite the page turner. My eyes were glue to the pages to the very end.

We have heard so much about Rella from previous books that before even meeting her we knew we were going to love her, and we did just that.

Emo was dark and highly intense also volatile and only pain soothes the demons within him. My heart broke time and time again for the pain this boy suffered as a child and for the guilt that weighted him down constantly.I truly believed this man would have been consumed by his demons if for not for the love he had for his brothers and his thirst for vengeance to make those who caused his and Rella's pain to get their just deserts and so much more.

This was an incredible love story that was laced with pain and regrets and guilt but, it was also about healing and forgiveness and trust and finally letting go of the past for good and laying both your demons to rest. The past cannot be forgotten but, this couple chooses not to have it rob them of a life of love and longing and a home and possible family because after every thing they endured they both deserved happiness and hopefully a happily ever after.

This current read and the ones before it took us on one heck of a roller coaster ride and effected all our emotions, and we cried more than a few tears throughout this entire series. The author created the perfect ending to this amazing series. This entire series was totally dark and intense and raw and heartfelt, and Emo's and Rella's story was all those things as well, and we absolutely loved it.

This series is not for the faint of heart, and it is disturbing and highly intense and very dark and gripping and highly emotionally but, it was very good and a series not to be missed.

For us, we love every thing this author writes as she creates these amazing characters for us to fall in love with time and time again and she as become one of my top favorite authors to date.

Recommended read to all!
