Sometimes bad isn’t good enough…
On the outside, Lyle Tarpin is a clean-cut Hollywood actor whose star is on the rise. Inside, he’s battling his own demons, shunning relationships and finding solace in the arms of a string of anonymous women paid very well for their discretion.
But when he’s photographed in a compromising position by an over-eager reporter, the only way to save his career is to say that the woman he was with is his fiancée. And now Lyle has to play a very public game with the only woman who’s ever managed to get under his skin.
Struggling waitress Sugar Laine agrees to spend one night with Lyle—but only because she’s desperate to save her family home. She never expects that a night of passion will turn into a pretend engagement … or that the heat between them will blossom into love.
But sometimes love has a price.
And now the only question is—can Lyle and Sugar afford to pay it?

Lets start off by saying that I love this author and she is on my auto buy list but, most of all I just love all her books in the Stark Trilogy series.I have to say I just loved this one too !
What a great cast of characters and I loved Lyle and Sugar from the onset of the story.I love that you can connect with the character;s you read about and I was able to do that from the onset with Lyle and Sugar and right then and there I new I was going to love the story and I did.
I normally pick a favorite character to rave about but this time around it was way to hard as I loved Lyle and Sugar equally.
I loved that Sugar she was smart ,sexy, kind, loving, had a heart of gold.I loved that she had a sense of humor was funny, determined and I loved how she saw into your soul and I loved that she saw what others missed.I loved that she was just what she seemed no pretense or fabrication and how she spoke her mind. I have to say that I loved the interactions she had with Lyle being the Fake Fiance and Fake girlfriend she made me laugh more then once with her smart mouth and whit.
Kyle was just as easy to love .I found him to be lonely, a little broken, smart, witty, kind generous but, once he let the walls come down around him I found him to be sweet, caring and loving.I really liked his circle of friends and that some of our other favorite characters graced this current story.
I loved the plot the characters the humor and the laughs it brought me and there were many.I really liked the love story between these two characters even though it started out as a fake arrangement I always felt this couple had a connection from their first meeting and that was more then either realized or recognized.I totally understood why Lyle couldn't keep Sugar from crawling right into his heart she was just an amazing genuine sweet girl and you knew she would be the one to trust with your secrets and your heart.
I loved it from cover to cover .I have to say this book was a bit tamer than any of the other of the previous books in this series but that was okay because this was just a sweet love story where the couple really got to know one another in a really short time like Sugar suggesting they speed date within one of their conversations to get to know one another. What passed between them was way to funny.....
Another keeper for us and a recommended read to all. This is the perfect story to read when you need a pick me up and a few laughs that is light and funny with a great cast of characters.
