Lets start off by saying this is a first time author for us and we really enjoyed our first read by them.
MC romance's are definitely some of my favorite pass time reads and I am always looking forward to finding new authors .I am glad we came across this author to add to our collection of authors that write them.The author did a great job at starting off this new series with a bang and we loved the story from beginning to end.
I loved the characters Nickel and Karmen from the onset of the story but, my heart was swooning for Nickel what and amazing man he was who was loving ,caring, funny, but and all around sweet protective man who loved his women well.I loved the chemistry that Karmen and Nickel had it was super hot and sweet.They definitely burned up the sheets.Two opposites that attract.One as pure and sunshine and the other rough and tumbled.They made and amazing couple and I loved them together.
I loved how Karmen was willing to take risks and try things out of her comfort zone.Based on her childhood and the neglect she was given as a child one that never experience happiness or one that felt loved, this was a really big risk for her to take.You could not help but feel proud of her for taking those risks.
I loved their first date and what transpired before when she was getting ready for her date with Nickel it had me laughing out loud.This was one of those stories that had you laughing out loud throughout the entire story. It was so entertaining for me and I loved it.
There were so many great parts in this story.For me I loved how she got her name Captain and how she told her bedtime story to Nickel and that he needed to hear and didn't want to miss.One was funny and the other endearing.Two of my favorite parts in this story.
This MC romance concentrated mostly on Nickel and Karmen and finding their path to one another but, the club itself had major drama going on and none of it good.The club is divided and tempers are high and these are dangerous times for those involved.Then Karmen comes along with her own drama and things heat up yet again as someone wants her to pay for her fathers sins and wants her dead.
This story was so engrossing and once I started reading it I couldn't put it down.Loved it from cover to cover and we loved all the other characters as well.I love when you can connect with the characters that you read about and I was able to do that with these main characters.I loved both of them from the onset and I loved when that happens because I know that I am going to love the story and it has me rooting for them from the onset hoping they will be able to get that slice of happiness they both deserved.
I am so looking forward to the next in this series and the authors other works.A recommended read to all.

“You got plans tonight?” I was done chasing this chick. It was time to get straight to the point.“Um…”“You say that a lot, babe.”“What?” she asked, confused.“You say um a lot.”“Oh, I guess I never noticed.” She stood there staring at me.“Plans? You got any tonight?”“Um.” She realized she said um again and blushed red, as her eyes darted down. “No plans.”“You ever been to Shake the Lake?”“Once, when I was seventeen. I didn’t get to see the fireworks, though.”I reached out to grab my keys but grabbed her hand instead. “Come with me tonight,” I pleaded, our eyes locking.She tried to jerk her hand out of my grasp, but I tightened my grip. “I can’t,” she insisted.“Sure you can. You just told me you don’t have plans.”“Um, I forgot that I have to go to…um…badminton practice,” she stuttered.“Badminton practice?”I didn’t think she could blush anymore, but her cheeks turned a dark shade of red, and she nodded yes. “I felt that I needed to broaden my horizons and figured that would be a good place to start.”“Well, how about you broaden your horizon with me tonight, and you can pick back up with your badminton practice next week?”
Winter Travers is a devoted wife, mother, and aunt turned author who was born and raised in Wisconsin. After a brief stint in South Carolina following her heart to chase the man who is now her hubby, they retreated back up North to the changing seasons, and the place they now call home.
Winter spends her days writing happily ever afters, and her nights zipping around on her forklift at work. She also has an addiction to anything MC related, her dog Thunder, and Mexican food! (Tamales!)
