About Book

In Gavin Moxley’s world, there is no thin line between right and wrong. In a personal crusade to help sever a line of disease carried by a clan of vampires; Gavin has no choice to be ruthless. The Vampires are purposely infecting the human population…waiting for humans to actively pass it on to each other. Gavin takes no chances and executes them one by one. Not strong or powerful, finding humans before they turn into full vampires is ideal and Gavin’s best bet.
Yes, this is Gavin’s life…
…And nothing ever changes it until a young half breed vampire with special abilities, Solstice, attaches and makes herself a fixture in his life when she asks for his help and protection and when a reluctant Gavin agrees he joins a dangerous game of cat and mouse. There is no safe place and the pair are constantly watching their backs. Torn between his hate and his love for Solstice Gavin is thrown into a moral dilemma that only he can figure out but two things are clear…
His faith and Humanity are being tested and the past is not always forgotten.

My Thoughts

The introduction – OMG, talk about throw you head long into the mix. You read that and there is no way you are putting the book down because you have to find out what happens next. Right away author Bryan W. Dull grabs you with intensity and throws you headlong into a journey that keeps you reeling from page to page. Anxiously waiting to see what is going to happen next, gripping the edge of your seat and screaming – holy crap RUN!!!!!!

I have read a lot of vampire books but this one is by far very different and by far one of my new vampire favorites. This one is about a vampire hunter, but he is not just any vampire hunter, he hunts particular vampires. And how he goes about finding them and killing them really was very different then what I was used to. It made for a very amazing read.
During one of his nightly hunts he winds up in the company of Solstice. She is a half breed. She knows what he does, but isn’t afraid of Gavin and Gavin isn’t afraid of her and oddly takes her in. She is no ordinary vampire either and she is a child.
Solstice may look 12 but she is so much wiser and she keeps Gavin constantly rethinking and re-evaluating himself and humanity. I like how the longer he is with Solstice the more he starts to question his reasons for doing what he has been doing. She tells him that she understands why he does what he does, the killing of these vampires. And the longer they are together the more he wants to protect her, like his own daughter.
Solstice is special, the only one of her kind, and she is being hunted. She knows who is looking for her and she knows why. She knows who created her and why she was created. This makes her not only valuable for the ones hunting her but also a target, making Gavin a target as well.
I loved the ending, Gavin explaining how he hoped to carry on and how he hopes more learn, learn about the evil out there. I love the hospital scene – holy wow that was explosive!!!!! Very well written.
What a fast and great read, great twist to the age old vampire story. And I really can not wait to read the next book in this series. I have to find out what happens to Gavin and Solstice.
