If You Give A Girl A Viscount (Impossible Bachelors, #4)If You Give A Girl A Viscount by Kieran Kramer

If You Give A Girl A Viscount (Impossible Bachelors, #4)If You Give A Girl A Viscount by Kieran Kramer

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If life were a fairy tale, Daisy Montgomery’s stepmother and two stepsisters would surely be cast in the wicked roles. For years, they’ve made life miserable for Daisy. But when she discovers she has a godmother, she’s determined to ask her for help. Little did Daisy expect her godmother to play matchmaker with her very own grandson—who happens to be a viscount!

A freewheeling playboy, Charles Thorpe, Viscount Lumley, is bored with his wealth-seeking female admirers. Not only that, he’s been cut off from the family coffers. One day, on a bet, he rids himself of what little money he has left in his pockets and vows to solve problems using his wits alone. But when the Impossible Bachelor is confronted with Daisy’s plan to save her castle, the payoff is more than he could have bargained for. Sometimes, if you give a girl a viscount, you just might find love….

My Thoughts and Review

This is a delightful fun read. I just love Kieran Kramer books. Charles Thorpe, Viscount Lumley grandmother sends him on an errand to her god daughter Daisy. Daisy families estate is in disarray and needs the monies for repairs and for the land tax or they are out of a home.Daisy cares for her home and her servants and wants nothing but put this to rights to save her home an have a place to share with the ones she loves. Daisy lives with her stepsister and stepmother who treat her so disrespectful and with cruelty. The Cinderella thing going on here.

Charles is funny her he is a Lord here doing a girls bidding and its funny to see. Charles not of the like in thinking that he better then her he is willing to do her bidding at his grandmothers request. The problem is to come up with that kind of cash in a sort amount of time is really impossible.Daisy and Charles hatches a plan to have a Highland's experience at is best.A reenactment of sorts of the time gone by.The just need the rich to come and join in the festivities. While doing all of this the two ,Daisy and Charles are growing closer together and feelings are starting to stir with one another.Charles sees how hard Daisy works and caring for her servants that he does an extra step to help out. He tells everyone the Daisy is his bride to be and that she is to be shown respect deserving as his Countess to be. While setting up all the festivities she not only has to put that all together she has to deal with the jealousies of the three women. The stepmother basically blackmails her saying she is to stay away from the viscount that she is not going to marry him that her daughter is and if she does not she will expose her secret. The newly forming relationship has now turned into a sneaking around don't get caught thing.

The thing is that the Landlord (land-holder I should say )that they pay the taxes to has been an absentee one. He does not know what is going on around him and the person in charge is acting on behalf of the owner is about evict this family without his knowledge. The thing is Daisy is working so hard o say something that she technically does n"'t even own. Her step family is already spending the money not even made yet for the own selfish reasons.

The Highlanders experience is starting out pretty good so far. Charles jealousy is inflame when one of the guests pursues Daisy. He feels protective of her and has feeling for her even if he does not know where there relationship is going but, they make such a cute couple and as he cares for her.Things are never simple plots thicken.Someone plots murder and its a tangled web in need of untangling.

Secrets are revealed and I am not sure love is enough ...to undo the damage that comes to light we will just have to see how the story pans out....

While reading this story the whole time I kept thinking of the movie with Drew Barrymore (A Cinderella Story)where she meets her prince. Daisy's life is some much like this fairy tale. Loved the two main characters Charles and Daisy the others I would have found a way to rid them of my life as soon as possible. The love and romance and intrigue made in a fun quick read for me.You feel Daisies pain and you do nothing but root for her Happily Ever after....A Recommended read to all...
