Our Author Interview

What would you have done differently if you were the main character of your book?

If I were Jeni, I wouldn't put up with Alistair's crap! He's overbearing and obnoxious, and I would say what was on my mind, rather than trying to keep the peace, for Aiden's sake.

What was your inspiration behind this book?

Believe it or not, I actually dreamt about the car accident, and it evolved from there.

Why did you become a writer ?

In High School, I briefly wanted to become a writer. I had to write a short story for my finals in English, and I absolutely loved the feeling when I was writing. Unfortunately, I went down a different path and I ended up studying graphic design instead. It wasn't until last October 2012, when I had a dream about the car accident, that I decided I had to put my dream down on paper. It evolved from a paragraph into a trilogy, and I haven't stopped writing since. I absolutely love being in my own imaginary world.

As a reader and writer, I think it is important to get to know your fans,  and make a connection with them as an author, who takes the extra step to hear what their fans think, and want, in there continued writing, is continued success and key to selling more books .Do you agree with that ?

Absolutely!!! Without the fan's I wouldn't be able to continue with my writing. I owe them everything!

Do you have a favorite author or authors?

Yes, I have a few. I love the FSOG series by E L James, Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer, The Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day, but I also really like the less famous authors such as K M Golland who wrote the Temptation Series, S C Stephens who wrote the Thoughtless Series  and Tina Reber who wrote the Love Unscripted/Unrehearsed books.
Do you like to write your books in a continuing series ?

Yes and no, my debut novel is the first in a trilogy, but I have also written singular books, yet to be published.

If you could date any character from any book, who would it be, and why?

Kellen Kyle!!! Oh and of course Aiden O'Connell ;0)

What kinds of books do you like to read in your spare time ?

Adult Contemporary Romance mostly.

Do you cry  when writing sad scenes?

Yes, but don't tell anyone ;0)

Did you have a Cover Designer ?

Yes, me. Because of my Graphic Design background, I am lucky enough to be able to produce my own covers.

Who is your fictional boyfriend or girlfriend crush ?

Kellen Kyle!!! Oh, and of course, Aiden O'Connell, lol.

If you were able to dine, and have a one on one with your favorite writer/author, who would it be ?

Oh, this is a tough one. E L James, because I would love to get into her mind regarding how she deals with her success, but also K M Golland, as she is a fellow Australian Indie Author, and I loved her whit and charm throughout her Temptation Series.

Do you re-read your favorite books ?

Yes and no. I find that all the drama and suspense when reading for the first time is exhilarating, and the second time around, I don't feel that connection with the characters as much. Still it is fun re-reading some books.

Do you ever get in a reading slump, like your readers do ?

Yes and no, mostly because I don't like to read a book whilst I'm in the process of writing one.

What is the funniest book you ever read ?

Tangled by Emma Chase.

About Book

The summer after graduation is supposed to be that first real taste of freedom - but not for eighteen-year-old Chloe Branson. Just as that breeze of freedom is making its way into her galaxy, her secret-service-agent dad drops a meteor-sized bomb of bad news on her and her sisters. An attempt has been made on the lives of Canadian boyband, Spaceships Around Saturn, during their USA tour, and the guys have to go into hiding ASAP. The only problem? In the midst of the crisis and media frenzy, their dad volunteered to hide the their house.

Six-year-old Emery is as ecstatic as any self-proclaimed Saturnite would be, but Chloe and her seventeen-year-old sister Aralie watch their summer plans crash and burn like a falling star. The SAS guys aren't happy with the situation, either. Bad boy Jules picks fights with Aralie about everything from his Twitter followers to his laundry, and heart-throb Benji can't escape Emery's fangirlisms for more than three minutes.

But after the super-cute Milo kisses Chloe during a game of hide-and-seek, she finally understands what Emery means when she talks about SAS being "out of this world." If this is what Saturn feels like, Chloe doesn't want to come back to Earth.

My Thoughts

Two teenage sisters being put on lockdown in their home with a boy band that their 5 year old sister is just head over heals with – now that is summer torture if I ever heard of it. Okay well maybe not completely. I mean when they finally meet the band and oh that hottie Milo (okay, okay I know he is only 20 but come on I was young once lol). I found myself laughing throughout almost this entire book. Especially all the antics and stuff that 5 year old Emery puts the adorable Benji “Bikini” Baccarini through. That poor guy can’t get a break from her infatuation but does an awesome job handling her.

And I found a new description for the smell of cigarette smoke “crushed ladybugs” LOL leave it to a 5 year old. Or what about describing guys as colored scarves so your little sister doesn't catch on. Joke was on Aralie and Chloe on that one, never assume because they are 5 they don’t know what is going on – boy does she out everyone and the fall out is absolutely comical I laughed so hard thank goodness I was on my lunch break.

I give the author props on this one for taking a boy band, girlfanatic child, teenage girls and all the works and including someone out to maybe hurt one of the band members and a summer of being locked up under one roof to bring out the drama on both a girls side and guys side. Oh boy it was fun reading these guys. Milo ever so mature and serious (but a real hottie), Jules another cutie but the bad boy of the bunch (or so you think). Noah always a wise comeback and great best friend for a girl, or Tate now that one is just funny loves to always say it was “someone else” ROFL. Tate and Noah though great cover guys those two.

This is an absolutely phenomenal Young Adult book with a look into the lives of a family full of girls being forced into lockdown with an internationally famous pop band and all the sacrifices and changes they have to go through, and the realizations that they come to. Blossoming romances, torturous little sisters and just down right humor. A+++ for this book. I even sort of hope there is another one I would love to see what becomes of Aralie and Jules and of course Chloe and Milo.

Kathleen used to love life. She had plans, dreams, and faith in life; but that was before the accident that took it all away from her in an instant. Now that her beloved brother is dead and she's confined to a wheelchair, her future is but a dark cloud hovering above her head. How can she ever find the will to move on and keep living without him? Even the cares of the happy-go-lucky American physiotherapist who's helping her with her rehab therapies are all in vain. Life seems to have lost its meaning, until one night she receives an unexpected celestial visit…

Colin has been working as a physiotherapist in Dublin for almost five years, but he’s never bonded so much with a patient like he is bonding with Kathleen; there's something about those sad blue eyes that makes him want to help her, to take away the pain that reminds him so much of his own. Having lost both his parents in a plane crash when he was only sixteen, Colin knows how it feels to have someone you love taken so abruptly away from you, and he makes it his mission to help Kathleen find her faith in life again. But something changes along the way…

Sometimes love can work miracles. If you believe

Our Review

OMG what can you say heartbreaking, funny, tender, touching, happiness, tears, laughter, joy, peace, those are just a few words to describe the emotions you will feel when you fall into the pages of this book. And fall is exactly what you will do. Hugged by an Angel its a very touching story of tragedy, struggle, finding ones self again, growth, love and happiness.

Roberta does an amazing job bringing you into Kathleen's life from the moment she wakes up in the hospital. You can feel her pain, her raw emotions. In walks Colin who makes it his mission to help Kathleen get past this tragic accident, help her find herself again and find a way to cope and move on and enjoy life again. Along the way you are brought into Colin's world and are given a glimpse at the pain he still harbors from his own past tragedy. Somewhere along the way things change.

I couldn't wait to get to the next page to see if Kathleen finally, if she got to, if they well. Okay I can't spoil it you have to read it. But this is truly an extraordinary read, excellently written. The tender moments, the raw emotion its so real. I won't lie there are some very heart wrenching moments within the pages of Hugged by an Angel. But for every one of those there are equally funny and tender moments as well. I do not give out to many 5 stars. But this one it deserves nothing less than 5 stars.
