About Book

In the wilderness of 14th century Northumbria, Lady Isabel discovers just how dangerous the Borderlands can be. With the loss of her voice and her hearing, there is little hope left for her. But when a brooding knight rescues her, she vows never to become a victim again and buries the secrets of her past in the hope that those hunting her will never find her in the Borderlands.

Jake is astonished to come across the beautiful Isabel, near to death, on his brother’s lands. Bringing her back to his brother’s home, he finds himself longing for something more from the courageous woman, something that he thought he would never want again. Isabel works her way into his scarred heart and opens Jake up to loving once more. But will Isabel’s secrets destroy their bond? And with his charismatic brother, Dominic, charming her, does he even stand a chance?

My Thoughts

Beaten to within an inch of her life by a group of no good thugs, rescued by the handsome man - oh yeah who doesn't love that kind of a book. I mean come on - dark hair, dark eyes, built like a god UM HELLO - "Me, Me - Rescue Me Sweetie -- > Right Here < -- LOL" Okay, Okay this book is all that and a box of your favorite Godiva chocolates!!! What can I say, Samantha Holt really knows how to write amazing romance novels. This is the first in her "Borderland Legacy Series" and all I can say is, if this is the beginning then it is only going to get better from here and that is going to be tough because if I could I would give this book 9 Hearts - why not 10 you say - easy - he never came and rescued me. LOL

Oh the men in this book they are the finest chocolate in the world. Delicious eye candy with words and moves and looks - make a woman desire to eat an entire box of chocolate with them around. How is a woman supposed to choose? Why follow her heart of course.

Normally when I read a book I will jot down notes as I go along to help me when I am writing my reviews. But alas, this book, I couldn't put it down long enough to do that. Author Samantha Holt has done it yet again. No let me take that back, she has outdone herself with Borderland Bride.

The turmoil that Isabel and Jake go through, almost from the very start, to Isabel's just outright mean father and kidnapping by a very evil man. Jakes heartbreaking past and tough exterior to Dominic's strong character yet adorable and flirtatious ways - you immediately fall in love with each and every character. From the sweet and caring maid Winnie to James, Jake and Dominic's right hand man. They draw you into the story as each page unfolds before your eyes.

Through each page one woman changes one man, a man who vowed never to trust or love a woman again. Though after what happened to him I probably wouldn't blame him. Seeing Jake struggle to do right by Isabel, feeling unworthy to be loved by her. Seeing Dominic flirt with Isabel and set Jake on fire. And sweet Isabel longing for the love of one man while running from her past.

Jakes, strong, rugged, handsome and haunted by his past throughout the entire story, it's so sad to learn of what he went through. He is a very strong man, yet haunted by a past that he just cant quite move on from and struggles between a passion and a love for Isabel to sticking to the "women are evil and not to be trusted". But Jake has a heart that needs mending - Jake he is the forever guy.

Dominic his half brother and lord of the land. He is handsome, funny and a complete flirt "ladies man". He would be so much fun to date. He loves to get under his brother's skin - on purpose no less. I loved it. He had me laughing throughout the entire story with his comments and moves. A definite skirt chaser this one.

However, I did not like Isabel's father one bit. That man set me on fire and made my skin crawl. A woman should never fear her father and a woman should never be a piece of property to be bartered with. No wonder she ran.

I fell in love with Isabel from the very start. A woman in the borderlands fighting for her life. Wanting to be free and to love freely of her choosing. To buck the norm and go against what is typically tradition. To be free from her fathers will to foist her into a marriage with an evil, hateful, abusing man. To be free, be herself, fall in love. I mean isn't that what ever girl dreams of, what ever woman deserves?

Jake and Dominic, okay I can't talk about them enough, I mean who wouldn't fall for them. What are my thoughts on both of them you ask? Here is what I told a friend of mine. Dominic is flirty, funny, charming and absolutely adorable. Perfect for that tumble in the sheets, dating and fun times. But Jake, oh sweet Jake, talk about taking your breath away. Tall, dark, handsome, amazing body, brooding yet strong. Yes that is what I am talking about. He is the type you fall for, the all in for life type. Entire heart in. Yeah I think Isabel and I are going to have to fight over Jake - LOL!!!

Oh one more thing - you need tissue - make sure you have a box handy because there are some parts in this story that had me bawling. But there is also plenty of laughter and very happy moments. - PREFECTO!!!

About Book

Seventeen-year-old super tech geek Gilbert Garfinkle knew the future was going to be perfect, because he was going to invent it himself. He had it all planned. But a funny thing happened on the way to the future...
Amber is the most beautiful girl he's ever met, way out of his league. He can't understand why she asks to go home with him, asks him to sit next to her on his vintage Star Wars sheets, and starts kissing him.
Now once bitten and twice terrified out of his brilliant mind, Gilbert lies alone in his room in the dark, paralyzed, and pondering life's ultimate question: "Why me?"
WHY MY LOVE LIFE SUCKS—book one of THE LEGEND OF GILBERT THE FIXER—is the humorous science-fiction novel that proves it takes the ultimate geek to be the ultimate hero

My Thoughts

Okay so what part of being bitten in the neck, paralyzed, in intense pain sounds fun to you? It certainly doesn't sound good to me and it didn't feel good or sound fun to Gilbert either. Poor Gilbert what a way to end an unexpected date with a really pretty girl. And so the story begins...

Gilbert Garfinkle, that is his name, and I think if my parents named me that I wouldn't be very happy. The name just oozes "Dork", "Geek", "Nerd", "Loser". And Gilbert's mother, what a piece of work that woman is. If you could assign stars for nastiest parent in the world she would get a 10 out of 10 stars from me today for the most pathetic, worthless, waste of space mother ever. I give the author props for how well she portrays Gilbert his mother along with all the rest of the characters - job well done there I really wanted to strangle the mother the entire time while laughing at all the things going on with Gilbert. That poor boy. LOL

Okay I mean hello anyone voted "Most Likely To Lose His Virginity To A Robot" OMG that is so sad yet so funny I busted out laughing when I read that. It can't get any worse then that right??? Wrong.

Gilbert may be your typical teenage, pimple faced geek but he is also a typical teenage boy and when he see's a pretty girl he looses all sense of right and wrong. Amber is that girl who gets Gilbert all worked up and not thinking straight. So much so that he takes her home to the place he feels least welcome, to his dungeon, most of us call it a bedroom. And then it happens, the one thing he never expected would happen to him, and now its too late.

I found this book so fun to read. Watching Gilbert become a vampire, his initial reactions and thoughts actually were rather understanding yet extremely funny. And his reaction to Amber, the girl who turns him and changes him into a vampire. Oh man now that is almost like icing on a cake.

A super funny part is the Dungeons and Dragons part. I have never played that game actually always thought it was for the geeks and nerds and all poor Gilbert wants is to be normal again to hang out with his friends like he used to and he doesn't want Amber to tag along. Watching the interaction between them and a few others in this scene was a riot. Oh poor Gilbert.

This truly was a fun book to read and you will not be disappointed one bit by the book - now go get yourself a copy so you can see just how great a book this is.

Dragon law dictates that they must meet the issued challenge and face their enemies in battle. But when Lilly sees them in Dragon form, will she be able to accept them?

 Excerpt One----VERY ADULT CONTENT!!!!

Lilly Montague smiled, her full lips curving upward as she savored the glide of her lover’s hand over her thigh. It had been only six months earlier that she had first met Philippe, in the very same exclusive club where they now indulged their desires. Sprawled atop him, her breasts crushed tightly against his chest and the hard ridge of his massive arousal pressed intimately into the juncture of her thighs, she savored the sensation. Still, there was something missing, or someone, more particularly. She was trying not to think about it, but her mind refused to cooperate. Lilly had two lovers in fact, two beautiful men who saw to her every whim and desire, as well as to one another’s. Rising on her elbows, she stared into Philippe’s handsome face, noting the honey-colored scruff that shadowed his firm jaw, highlighting the supple curve of his lips.

When he met her gaze, he sighed just a bit. “Stop thinking about it.”

Lilly’s sigh matched his. “I know he’s only been gone for a few days, but it feels like an eternity.”

Philippe’s hand moved farther up her thigh, disappearing beneath the hem of her skirt, and encountered nothing but bare skin. “You need a distraction, cher.”

Lilly shivered as his hand coasted over her behind, his fingertips lightly dipping into the cleft. “Don’t tell me,” she said. “Show me.”

It was only seconds later that she felt his lips on hers, claiming, ravaging her mouth in a hot, almost brutal kiss. His left hand fisted into her hair, using the dark locks to tug her head back. The other hand continued the sensual torment, sliding over the curve of her behind, between her parted thighs, his thumb circling the tight rosette while his fingers delved between dew-slicked folds. She let out a soft moan, unable to hold it back. There were other people in the club. The bartender was stocking the coolers with beer and other refreshments, and the new waitresses were in the storage room, doing inventory to make certain that all members’ toy chests were accounted for. Lilly thought of the first time she’d been in the storage room, seeing the various and sundry items that the club’s members used for their pleasure. Remy had been with her, his hot gaze like a physical caress on her body. She hadn’t known then who she wanted more, Remy or Philippe. It had never dawned on her to imagine that she would have them both.

“So wet, so hot for me,” he murmured, his teeth scraping over the sensitive skin of her throat. It wasn’t the first time he’d done that, and she knew it would leave a mark. But the delicious shivers arcing through her body made it more than worthwhile.

Remy stepped into the dimly lit interior of Dragon’s Lair, his own private domain. At the end of the hallway, entering the main room, he paused and took in the scene before him. On the far side of the room, in the private alcove reserved for the three of them, Lilly and Philippe were ravishing one another. The hot kisses, the sight of Philippe’s skilled hand pumping into the sweetness of Lilly’s cunt, had him hard instantly. He didn’t have to make a sound. Philippe looked at him over Lilly’s shoulder, and Remy felt the zing of connection between them. There was a fantasy building in his mind, a tableaux that he allowed to play out for Philippe’s benefit. It had been nearly a week since he’d had them, since he’d tasted either one of them. Other things would wait, but his passion would not.

Moving toward them silently, he began to remove his tie and then his jacket. By the time he reached the alcove, his shirt was unbuttoned and his cock was raging. Philippe was urging Lilly on, whispering hot, erotic things to her that did not leave any of them unaffected. Her top went first, some gauzy confection that only highlighted her feminine appeal. It landed in a dainty heap on the floor, followed by her skirt. Clad only in high heels and a black lace bra, she straddled Philippe’s hips, rocking against the massive erection he sported for her. Moving behind her, Remy slid his hands over her shoulders, down to the soft globes of her breasts. He closed his fingers over her nipples, pinching them with just the amount of force she liked. She shuddered and leaned back against him.

“I’m so glad you’re home,” she said on a dreamy sigh.

He smiled as he claimed her mouth, tasting Philippe’s kiss on her lips. “I’m glad to be home... I’ve missed you. Both of you.”
