About BLACKLISTED:

From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men series comes an irresistible and suspenseful romance between a doctor who plays by the rules and the outlaw who breaks them in order to protect her.

Dr. Presley Baskin has always lived a quiet, calm life. Unfortunately, nothing about her life in Loveless, Texas -- especially not the wild, rowdy, and impossibly close-knit Lawton family who've claimed her -- is quiet or calm. Which is how loner Presley finds herself roped into patching up local bad boy Shot Caldwell against her better judgment. Presley wants nothing to do with the dangerous, brooding leader of the local outlaw motorcycle club. But when someone starts stalking her, Shot is the only person she trusts to help. Plus he owes her one . . .

Palmer 'Shot' Caldwell has always known his life isn't made for relationships. At least until shy, secretive, Presley reluctantly pulled a bullet out of him. He's oddly protective of the pretty doctor, so when she comes to him for help, hard-hearted Shot suddenly realizes there's nothing he wouldn't do to keep her safe.

This current story was easy to read was intriguing and was full of drama and had really great characters. We are really loving this series.

We loved Shot that man just oozed dominance and alpha-ness and gave off that scary vibe but, we loved how he kept all that in check trying to woo the women he wanted to be his. I loved he was a bit out of sorts for the first time ever out of his comfort zone when I came to Presley because from the get-go they had this amazing chemistry that both of them danced around quite a bit before they both decided to pursue it. Their dance was super cute, and we loved that they were complete opposites yet, their different personalities were something each other ultimately craved.

Presley was a character who was quite different from every other character we have read about she was a medical examiner who has been career-focused and hasn't had a lot of time to play but, after meeting Shot things were about to change. That smart sexy aloof woman was about to have her world turned upside down once again by a dark and dangerous bad boy she never knew she would need in her life. Our heart went out to Presley as she hasn't had an easy life growing up and then you had the psycho ex, and she was fiercely independent and has had a really hard time and struggling to accept her new family and their help which made her super emotional but, it was cute how she was slowly letting people in and that she now had a new family to count on. We loved seeing her come out of the shell and slowly blossom.

Talk about chemistry Presley and Shot had that in spades! We absolutely loved them together and even when they were exploring and fighting the chemistry they had together was hot!

Overall we loved this story that was emotion infused and filled with crazy ex-friends and others bent on revenge. The story had constant chaos going on all around Presley and Shot to the bitter end that was also filled with a great cast of characters that we absolutely loved. This story picks up where the last story in this ended so it's important to read this series in order.

Moore than Forever Blog Tour With Author Julie A. Richman

Creating Character Chemistry
By Julie A. Richman

One of the worst things about reading a story is feeling like the author is telling you to "see" this chemistry between the characters, but you're not "feeling" it.  If I, as a writer, do my job right, I don't need to tell you to "see" anything because you are right there with me, a fly on the wall, to the scene unfolding. If I do a really good job, you are dying to jump off the wall and land right in the middle of the action. You want to beg Character A not to say that, you're flipping out that you can't slap Character B and tell them, "Don't you really see what is going on?" and you want to push Character C out of that bed, because that bitch doesn't deserve character D and YOU do!

To be able to create strong chemistry between characters it is essential to start by creating strong characterization. Who is the male (or female) lead (besides this hot looking guy)?  Building a multi-dimensional character means that I have to know everything about him - his quirks, the way he'll respond to a situation (and why? What in his history shapes his reactions now?), what drives him, what shuts him down? If I don't know these things, and can't off the cuff tell you anecdotal stories about him, how can I accurately paint the portrait for you and expect you to feel the character's personal chemistry?

Fully-fleshed out characters provide rich opportunity in their interaction with other characters and that is where the chemistry begins to boil and explode - and become tangible to the reader. When this happens, a new entity is formed that takes on a life of its own. For instance, in the Needing Moore Series, Seth and Mia's chemistry as BFF's is very rich and can be witnessed through their sibling-like banter and in the little ways that they take care of one another. The reader knows that the interaction they are witnessing is uniquely Seth & Mia's - their chemistry is their trademark.

Chemistry between characters should be unique to the individuals involved and is created in the details. Sometimes, as a reader, you have to look very closely for the minute elements brought by each character that create their combustible chemistry, but if we, as authors do our jobs right, the chemistry will always be undeniable.

About the Author

I must've been 5 or 6 when I started writing "stories".  I would write them and hide them. Not wanting anyone to see my "secret" thoughts. I needed to write -even back then.  Now I'm just not hiding them anymore.  Is that a sign of maturity?  Nah ....
Writer, photographer, insatiable wanderluster, edge-player, foodie, music addict, pop culture fanatic, animal lover, warrior for the rights of people and planet, and avid cusser (am a Native New Yorker, so very little offends me ... and if I am offended, it must be pretty freaking bad .. like bad grammar!).
I am big believer in signs and if we keep ourselves open, there are guideposts all along the way. Stay humble. Be true. Be you.
Life is not a dress rehearsal ...
