Release Blast & Review for Claimed by Ruin by Sara McClaflin

CLAIMED BY RUIN

Sara McClaflin

Release Date: September 17

AVAILABLE IN KINDLE UNLIMITED

As a medical examiner in New Orleans, I know death. I know how it looks, how it smells, how it lingers.

This isn’t it.

Bodies that should be fresh are weeks gone. Others refuse to rot at all. The same impossible pattern ties them together, and everyone is too quick to blame the local cult.

They’re wrong.

Then Caelum Brandt appears—where he shouldn’t be, answering questions no one else can, moving through the city cloaked in darkness and danger.

Like he is invincible.

The moment he touches me, something burns into my skin—a mark I can’t explain and can’t hide.

He sees it. Smiles like it means everything.

He calls himself the Horseman of Conquest.

And whatever is coming next… has already chosen me.

CLAIMED BY RUIN is an enemies to lovers, possessive anti-hero, murder mystery, fated mates romantasy set in the same universe as The Devil’s Bargain series, perfect for fans of dangerous heroes, supernatural romance, and high stakes, tension filled relationships.

The plot kept us engaged; the characters are lovable, and the paranormal aspects kept things exciting. The mystery-solving takes place in New Orleans, where the Horsemen land right in the middle of a crime scene. It just so happens that they can aid the police and medical examiner with their special abilities while they are on a mission themselves.

The chemistry between Caelum and Cassidy is awesome. We found Cassidy to be a fierce and loyal friend, feisty, funny, and lovable. Cassidy made us laugh so many times. She is tough but unafraid to show some vulnerability. Her family is awesome.

Caelum ends up being perfect for Cassidy; he is possessive and protective, and both are goal-oriented and work well together. He finds himself in the doghouse a time or two, and their witty banter is priceless; it adds comical relief to the seriousness of the plot and what they are up against, and time is of the essence.
The best part of the novel was being on the journey with them; the bonding progression, we learn so much about the characters themselves, their history, and what came out of it, kept us engrossed in the plot and rooting for a happily ever after for the characters themselves. The side characters are integral to the plot's outcome, and we ended up loving them too. Caleum's brothers are quite intriguing, with sound knowledge and wisdom. We can't wait to see what's next for them.
