Series: O-Town Series
Author: Karen Renee
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: September 1, 2020

Cecilia
I moved to Orlando for a fresh start.
Nobody could know my secret.
Catching the attention of the hottest DJ in all of Orlando wasn’t in the plan.
He’s got moves, and they’re not just good. They are good.
Like the beats he spins in the booth, I fall fast for him and his crazy family.
When he finds out about my past, it won’t just break my heart but also crush my soul.
Brock
The third time I saw her at a crowded club, I had to have her.
After our first kiss, I knew she was a habit I would never want to break.
Knowing what she hid from me reinforces what I’ve known for so long. Women cannot be trusted.
Even knowing the worst, I can’t stay away from her.
But when push comes to shove, will I be able to keep her safe?

This was one heartfelt read the story was filled with heart and a ton of emotion and it felt real. The characters were amazing we loved them all.

Brock was a character you instantly loved he was downright playful had a good sense of humor was sexy and possessive and an all-round nice guy. I loved how he treated Cecilia like she was special and never stop telling her on a daily basis on how much he loved and cared about her. Initially, it was a bit of a shock to learn about her past but, once he straightens out his feelings for her it was full throttle to make her his again.

Cecilia and her struggles were real and our heart went out to her because she always seemed to be apologizing for her past and not only that her self-esteem seemed non-existent but, through it all, she seemed to be one tough cookie. I loved that she had a sense of humor and was sweet kind and loving and all of Brock's's family loved her as well which we loved a heck of a lot.

This love story was not an easy one and at times I felt I had constant whiplash with all of Cecilia's protests and her trying to put distance between her and Brock but, Brock was a man who did not take no for an answer and every day he tried to make Cecilia see all the things that he saw in her hoping she would see them for herself. This story was definitely emotional and messy and it felt real because you could resonate with what Cecilia was feeling and her fears which I really loved.

The characters Brock and Cecilia had major chemistry and fit well together but, it was not the explosive kind we usually see from this author but, still super sweet nevertheless.

Overall I loved the story and that the struggles one has on a daily basis to deal with a pass addiction are real and hard and it is always challenging but, we loved that Cecilia was always honest with her struggles and feelings and that she voiced them to the surrounding people which In our eyes made her stronger willed that she even realized.

My only pet peeve would be we never got a solid answer to the question of who wanted to do Cecilia harm it all was pretty much of a guessing game and even with parties in play being temporarily detained is there still and future threat to her welfare and safety? That remains to be seen...

After what seemed an eternity, Brock’s dress shirt slipped off his arms and he unbuttoned his dark-wash jeans while I watched his legs shift as he toed out of his shoes. I pressed my lips together to keep my thoughts to myself, but apparently, Brock could read me.
“Just say it, honey,” he murmured.

Laying naked on his turned-down bed, I asked, “Say what… honey?”

With his thumbs in his boxer-briefs, he gave me a semi-incredulous look. “You know ‘what,’ Sunflower. That it’s about time I got naked with you.”

Sunflower?

I couldn’t devote any head space to that. He wanted to give me a nickname, so be it. Besides, the unveiling of the main event was happening before my eyes. His chest was unrealistically tan for a man who was in college. As I scrutinized his torso, his pecs flexed, and my eyes flew to his.

Those eyes of his were something else with their intensity and ability to ask me a question without him saying word one. They were staring intensely at me as though to underscore his statement, but I was distracted by his thumbs in his boxer-briefs.

After a lengthy moment, I whispered, “Yeah. It’s about time all right, Brock.”

I heard a low growling noise before he said, “You got that right, Cecilia.”

EXCERPT:
Backing me up to the brick wall, he stood directly in my space. “What’s wrong, Cecilia?”
His earnest eyes demanded an answer. “Nothing. Truly. Let’s just get done, then—”
Earnest gave way to incredulous. “‘Get done?’ You trying to get done with me?”
“I’m not good enough for you,” I admitted.
He shook his head. “That sounds like a load of bullshit. How would you know who’s good enough for me or not?
I knew it wasn’t me. Mainly because in the few minutes I’d sat in the living room waiting with Warren, I noticed a few textbooks about Criminal Law. While Gabe and Warren were talking at the table, it became clear Gabe had yet to declare a major, which meant those textbooks belonged to Brock. How could a girl like me, a former criminal – even if I hadn’t been convicted or arrested – be good enough for a man like him? I couldn’t. He needed a good girl, and that would never be me.
“I just know that I’m not that girl.”
“There’s something you’re not telling me.”
My eyes widened. “No joke! The first time we shared more than five words was ten hours ago. There’s plenty I haven’t told you and that you don’t know about me. I just—”
“This is done,” he said, as he lowered his head and kissed me quietly.
It was a helluva kiss, and it surprised me. All of the kisses we had had been out of the park, but this one contained more passion because both of us were irritated. He slanted his head and it seemed like he dragged his upper teeth across my bottom lip on purpose. Something inside me snapped. I drove my fingers into his hair and surged up on my toes. His arms wrapped around my waist, yanking me to his hard body.
My breasts were swelling and a throb built between my legs. I tried to break free from him, but he came after me, not letting me break the kiss.
A woman’s low-pitched voice grumbled, “Damn, that’s hot. You need to kiss me like that, Tim,” and Brock finally pulled away, but rested his forehead against mine.
“Fuck,” he whispered.
I exhaled so I wouldn’t speak. Something in his eyes told me he knew I was holding back my own agreement.
“So, we’re done?” I asked quietly.
Brock canted his head. “Why the fuck would you say that?”
“You said, ‘This is done.’”
Brock chuckled. “I did, but I meant the asinine conversation was done. Not us. Hell, after a kiss like that, no way we’re done. I get you riled up and that’s what I get in return, I can only imagine what angry sex with you will be like.”
I pressed my lips together because not only was he right, he was turning me on –again– and I was trying to stifle my laughter.
His hands framed my face. “And another damn thing…” He paused for quite a while. “Don’t tell me you’re ‘not good enough’ ever again. Let’s go. If we’re lucky, your food will still be warm.”

He kissed me again, and it was worse than I realized. The kiss on the dance floor was such that in no way did I think it could be topped, but this one beat it. Worse yet, there was a hint to his kiss that I knew not only he could do better, but we could do better. And if our kisses could get better, what did that say for the main event? His lips disengaged before I could think about that any further. With glittering eyes, he asked, “Is there really any reason for you not to see where this can go? I don’t have to be your bad habit, but I want you to be mine. Period.” I didn’t even have to mull it over: it was time for me to develop a new habit. If I was lucky, it would stick.
