Review for Cuckoo by Nikki Landis

Title: Cuckoo
Series: Devil's Murder MC #7
Author: Nikki Landis
Genre: MC Romance; Found Family; Second Chance; Romantic Suspense; Touch Her and 💀; Friends-to-Lovers; Foster Siblings; Dark Romance; Paranormal Twists

Never give up on second chances.

Cuckoo has always been a jokester. He’s the type of guy who sees humor in everything because, at one time, he never thought he’d ever laugh again.

It began in tender years when he found an old trunk full of costumes. A Beggar’s Night filled with candy, secrets, and screams. Cuckoo can still hear the shrill sounds in his dreams.

And then there was her. His foster sister and the little angel he swore to protect. Cuckoo took those beatings for her. He lied for her. He gave up everything. . . for Katrina.

And then she disappeared. A ghost in the darkness. He never saw her again.

Twelve years later, Cuckoo still has all those costumes. He checks every corner and peers through every open door. Because he knows someday he’ll see his angel again.

He just never expects to collide with her while riding his Harley. Katrina isn’t the little girl from his childhood, but he isn’t the same boy either. They’re both trying to shove the past behind a locked door.

But the funny thing about trauma? It never stays hidden. With Katrina’s life in danger and the clock ticking, Cuckoo must find a way to keep her safe and end the bastard threatening them both.

And this masked vigilante role? It’s one Cuckoo was born to play.

Cuckoo is a full-length, dark romance with a paranormal twist, violence, biker slang, forced proximity, and a protective stalker outlaw in a foster sibling, friends-to-lovers, second chance, suspenseful adventure. For best enjoyment, the series should be read in order since ongoing storylines and characters appear throughout and overlap.

Cuckoo has been one of our favorite characters, as he always made us laugh. We are glad that he got his second chance at his happily ever after. We loved seeing how different Katrina was from Cuckoo, as it gave Cuckoo a chance to be a bit devious on how her was going to corrupt his Angel, as he called her. The connection between Katrina and Cuckoo was heartwarming, and we enjoyed learning about the origins of his costumes. The plot was engaging, with a mix of wonderful characters and paranormal elements that kept us hooked. It was great to see familiar characters from other series make appearances in this book. Learning about their past was heartbreaking. Even then, Cuckoo was a protector and savior, and it seemed he would be needed once again. This story was packed with suspense and healing, moving on from one's past, surprises, love, friendship, family, mystery, and some disturbing dark elements. Our favorite part of the story was all about the costumes and how they played a part and gave us a good belly laugh.. Another awesome read in this wonderful series.

Release Tour for Jester by D. Williams

Title: Jester
Series: A MorningStar MC Novel, New Orleans Chapter Book 5
Author: D. Williams
Genre: MC Romance
Tropes: Boy/Girl Next Door; Friends-to-Lovers; He Falls First; Secret Lovers
Release Date: May 21, 2025

I fell in love with the girl next door in high school. She’s been sleeping in my bed since we were teens, and no one knew a thing. Our parents are so close; they’re family, and that’s the problem.

We’re viewed as family and, therefore, can’t ever be together, or at least that’s what she’s using as an excuse. Her determination to fight our love has caused a drift that the club is starting to notice.

We’ve been attached at the hip since we could walk, and now we can barely stand to be in the same room together. Something needs to change before we both explode and the club becomes collateral damage.

How do you convince a red-headed

Irish woman, she’s wrong?

You can’t.

You have to show her.

I'm a retired 43-year-old Puerto Rican wife and mother of 3 plus 1 bonus daughter. Originally from NYC, now living a quiet life in the south suburbs of Chicago. I enjoy reading and writing romance and erotic fiction. I'm addicted to coffee, sci-fi, and all things Marvel and Harry Potter.

I was a teen mom with a whole world of statistics against me. Every time I was told I couldn't do something, I did it, took pictures, and smiled with my son on my hip for everyone who ever doubted me.

Now, after finding the love of my life in my thirties, we married in the great 2020 pandemic, which shall not be named. We have a house full of teenagers who don't need mommy anymore, and the hubs is a traveling ER nurse, SO I have found myself with a lot of downtime.

After years of having this story taking space in my head, I decided to share it with the world. Gotta say, this writing gig is HARD. But with some time and grace, I'll get it right.
