Review & Release for Only Ever You by J.H. Croix

ONLY EVER YOU

J.H Croix

Release Date: November 3

AVAILABLE IN KINDLE UNLIMITED

A swoony & emotional small town firefighter romance from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix!

Meet cute gone wrong… or Maybe just right?

Take One: I met Parker Reeves when I was seventeen. We shared a few unforgettable hours, but I told so many lies he doesn’t recognize me the next time we meet.

Take Two: A decade later, I’m the definition of a hot mess—soaking wet, stranded, and pulled from the ocean by none other than Parker. He’s all rugged hero, firefighter instincts on full blast, and the kind of grumpy that’s unfairly attractive.

The list of reasons why falling for him is a bad bet for me is longer than a country mile. My baggage could fill a firehouse, and his growl is almost as fierce as his protective streak. But when I’m with him? For the first time, I feel safe. And that’s all I’ve ever wanted.

*A full-length, standalone romance.

Luna, a young woman with a mysterious past, returned to her hometown of Willowbrook, where her grandmother still resides, after a childhood spent traveling with her parents under a false identity. Parker Reeves, a handsome firefighter in the town, was captivated by Luna's charm and beauty, unaware that they had crossed paths before. Parker found Luna irresistible with her cute, sexy, and alluring presence. Despite trying to resist his attraction to her, Parker couldn't help but be drawn to Luna's magnetic personality. This emotionally charged story follows Luna and Parker and their personal baggage. Despite their struggles, their love and acceptance for each other shine through. Their chemistry is beautiful, and we adore them as a couple. Fuzzy, their adorable companion, adds a heartwarming touch to the story. A beautiful story overall with wonderful characters and beautiful friendships. We loved the growth and healing among its characters. There were many heart-melting moments throughout the story, but our favorite was the moose scene, as it was comical and made us laugh out loud.

PS- Although this story is fictional, it raises important questions about the balance between protection and freedom for children in today's world. It reminds us that while it is crucial to keep children safe, it is also essential to nurture their curiosity and allow them to explore and grow.

Release Blast for UP IN SMOKE by Kate Meader

 Release Date: February 22

Lives are on the line at Engine 6 … and so are hearts.

Newly-minted firefighter Abby Sullivan is exactly where she wants to be: Chicago Fire Department’s Engine 6, the station where her mom blazed a trail as one of the first female firefighters in the city. The first to fall in the line of duty, too. All Abby wants is to succeed, but that’s a tough proposition when people only see a feel-good story, a token woman failing at a man’s job, or the princess in need of protection. And the man tasked with watching her six?

Lieutenant Roman Rossi, the one person she can’t let close.

Having the daughter of his boss and nemesis under his wing shouldn’t be a problem for Roman—he’s a professional and can treat her like any other firefighter rookie. Except she happens to be the gorgeous woman he once shared a slice of cherry pie with, followed by the hottest, sweetest, most pulse-pounding kiss of his life. He didn’t know her name but he had planned to find out.

Now Roman knows exactly who Abby is: a threat to his self-control more dangerous than a five-alarm blaze. Lust has no place in the firehouse, and a distraction like Abby with her electric blue eyes, waves of flame-red hair, and freckles Roman wants to map with his tongue, is one he can ill afford.

Because one wrong move … and it could all go up in smoke.

Up in Smoke is the first in the brand new Hot in Chicago Rookies series about firefighters navigating the trials of new jobs and sizzling romances as they find their place in the world and the love of a lifetime.

We enjoyed the story and its characters, and we really loved Roman, what an awesome character he was sweet kind, loving, alpha, had a wicked sense of humor when I think of him easy going and protective comes to mind, and we loved that he fought for his and his families' happiness.

The story gave off the feel of a forbidden romance  but, when chemistry and attraction overrule common sense, it just becomes one giant complication.

I liked Abby well enough, we just didn't love her loved how determined and goal driven she was bright and easy going she also had a wicked sense of humor but, what we didn't like is we felt she was playing with Roman's heart as well as his emotions and her constant denials never matched up with her actions. Their chemistry sizzle outside the bedroom, and we thought they would make a wonderful couple.

Overall, the story had constant drama and was fun and flirty. Roman's life will never be dual as Abby is clearly and little rule breaker...
