He doesn’t believe in happy endings…

Saddled with the impossible task of finding a feel-good story, journalist Aiden O’Sullivan reluctantly accepts his godmother’s invitation to visit Marietta, Montana, to experience the small town’s Valentine’s Day celebration. Upon his arrival, a minor ankle injury lands him in the ER of the local hospital when his godmother insists a doctor should examine it.

After her parents’ untimely deaths, Dr. Vivian Miller moved from Sacramento to Marietta with her siblings. Apart from the freezing cold and rampant gossiping, life in town is uneventful. Until a music teacher at the local high school brings her godson to the ER. Vivian has a soft spot for children and hurries to help, only to find the “godson” is an opinionated, rude journalist with no visible injury to his foot.

Vivian has no time for journalists, even the drop-dead gorgeous kind. Aiden isn’t in town for long, but he quickly becomes involved in the lovely doctor’s problems, something he’s sworn will never happen again.

Will these two strangers end up finding a home together at the foot of Copper Mountain?

He did a double-take. Dr. Vivian Miller was standing in front of him. He blinked, but when he opened his eyes, she was still there. She looked different, though. Still no makeup, but the tight bun was gone. Instead, golden-blond curls fell over her shoulders and down her back. Dressed in jeans and a soft, blue sweater, matching the blue of her eyes, she just about took his breath away.

“Doctor…” His voice was strangely husky; he had to clear his throat before he could continue to speak. “Doctor Miller?”

Fidgeting with her bag, she was noticeably uneasy. “Vivian, please. Look, I’m sorry about earlier. I was… I thought you were a little boy, and I was probably rude.”

So, the ice-cold Doctor Miller did have a heart somewhere. Enjoying her discomfort, he leaned against the door frame for a moment, ignoring the cold. “Probably?”

She lifted her chin. “May I come in, please? It’s bitterly cold, if you haven’t noticed. I’ve brought you some Tylenol and a gel that will help relieve the pain. And could you… would you mind…” Inhaling, she stomped into the house. “Please put on a damn shirt.”

Can he convince her that what’s between them is much more than just biology?

Stacey Lawrence is happily single even though the folks in Alisson, Montana seemed bent on getting her the last thing she wanted: a husband. And babies? The mere thought has her shuddering, and that is not because of the cold Montana winters. But when Eleanor Johnson needs Stacey’s help with the upcoming bachelor auction, avoiding Jason becomes a problem. Turns out, he’s going to be one of the bachelors.

He likes women but he’s not interested in anything more permanent than a few dates. Avoiding her isn’t initially a problem. Turns out, the lady is also trying to avoid him. But when he’s roped in to take part in the ridiculous bachelor’s auction, he ends up spending more time with the elusive Stacey until he forgets why he wanted to avoid her in the first place.

Too old to play games, Jason suggests they spend time together but Stacey seems convinced that they’re attraction is just biology. Is she right or are his feelings for the redhead much more than a mere chemical reaction?

But he continued grinning. “See? We’re finally getting to know one another. I didn’t know you’d been a waitress before you moved to Alisson.”

She stopped in the middle of the bar and faced him. “I don’t know what your game is, but—”

But before she could finish her sentence, his hand reached out and warm fingers touched her face. Her mind froze. The angry words vanished.

It was just a fleeting gesture, but one she felt right down to the bottoms of her soles. I’m too old to play games, Stacey. You’re breathtakingly beautiful. I ache for you.” His eyes darkened, his voice turned gravelly. He dropped his hand. “But I get the message. You’re not interested. If you ever change your mind, though, let me know. We’ve tried avoiding each other…”

She opened her mouth to disagree, but he put a finger on her lips, effectively making it impossible to form thoughts, let alone say a single word.

“You’ve been avoiding me. And I’ve tried to stay out of your way. It’s not working. I still think about you all the damn time. Maybe we should try something different. I want you even more now than I did when I first laid eyes on you in the dojo. And don’t even try to tell me you don’t remember that moment. You reacted to me as well. I noticed. I notice everything about you.” With a final touch to her arm, he walked away.

Elsa has been reading love stories for as long as she can remember and when she ‘met’ the classic authors like Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, Henry James, the Brontรซ sisters, etc. during her Honors studies, she was hooked for life.

Although her three gown-up children rarely acknowledge the fact they have a romance-writing mom, her husband fortunately, is very proud of her, reads every word and is happy to make sure she gets the kissing scenes just right.

She likes the heroines in her stories to be beautiful, feisty, independent and headstrong.  And the heroes must be strong but possess a generous amount of sensitivity. They are of course, also gorgeous.  Her stories typically incorporate the family background of the characters to better understand where they come from and who they are when we meet them in the story.

But in the small town of Alisson, Montana, love will find a way.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo

EXCERPT:

She blinked, but she wasn’t hallucinating. On her porch, with Connor next to him, was Gavin Wilson holding two bags of what looked like groceries in his hands, if she wasn’t mistaken.

Speechless, she could only stare. Fortunately, Connor started babbling the minute she opened the door. “I told him we can just open the door, but he wanted to knock.” Connor hugged her legs. “Hi, Mom, I’m hungry. I’ve fetched Uncle Gavin to cook for us. Where is Grandma? I saw her car. Grandma!” he yelled and rushed inside.

Stunned, Brooke stared after Connor.

Gavin cleared his throat. “I found him at my front door.”

“What do you mean?”

“Connor. He came to the house.”

“I don’t believe it. But…why?”

Gavin grinned. “He’s told you.” He lifted the two bags of groceries he was carrying. “I’m happy to oblige.”

Brooke frowned. Had she heard correctly? Her son had gone to Gavin’s house to ask him to come and cook for them?

“But…it’s totally ridiculous; you can’t come and cook for us. Gavin, really…”

“It’s no secret in town you and your mother…how shall I put it? You don’t like cooking?”

“I cook,” Brooke began heatedly, but before she could finish her sentence, her mother appeared, all smiles.

“Yes, my dear girl, we cook, but nobody wants to eat what we cook! Come on in, Gavin, I’m on my way. I’m so glad you’re here.”

Gavin smiled. “Hi, Eleanor, lovely to see you.”

Beaming, her mom gave Brooke a quick hug. “I still have some things to do before I drive back to the ranch. Enjoy your dinner!” She stopped halfway down the stairs to look back at them. “Gavin, ask Brooke to show you her new painting.”

Brooke gnashed her teeth. “Goodbye, Mother.” She quickly closed the door before her mom could utter something even more embarrassing.

“I’m so sorry Connor bothered you. I’ll talk to him. You really don’t have to cook for us.”

“What about bourbon-grilled pork chops?”

Her tummy growled.

Gavin grinned. “I’ll take that as a yes.”

Protecting Lindsay
Elsa Winckler
(Unexpected Love Series, #2)
Publication date: April 12th 2022
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
sale for 99c

Lindsay Wilson simply wants to concentrate on her shop where she sells her own mixtures of creams and essential oils. What she doesn’t want is the seriously sexy Blake Davidson hell-bent on protecting her from the abusive boyfriend who followed her to Montana all the way from South Africa. To add to her frustration, he makes her feel things she’s never felt before but she’s made a mistake in the past, can she trust her instincts this time?

Blake lost two people before because he couldn’t protect them, so what’s different this time with Lindsay? From the moment he’s laid eyes on her, all his instincts have been telling him to make sure nothing happens to her so he has no choice but to move into her place and keep her safe. But what about his own heart?

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo

EXCERPT:

For the first time, she really looked at him. Oh, my. He’d grown a beard since she’d last seen him. She’d never liked beards, but on this tall, dark, and ridiculously attractive guy, it only added to his smoldering good looks.

Grinding her teeth to make sure her jaw wouldn’t drop, she turned away. “So, which essential oils are you interested in buying today?”

Here she was, a grown woman, just about salivating because a gorgeous man was in her shop. Maybe she should seriously begin to think about dating again. “There is an essential oil for just about every problem you may have. Suzie’s husband, for instance…” The minute the words left her mouth, Lindsay nearly groaned out loud. Normally, she kept clients’ issues completely confidential, but Suzie had already let that cat way out of the bag. Even so, why talk about Suzie’s bedroom problems, of all things, while she was talking to Blake?

“I don’t have problems in the bedroom.” His voice was as smooth as Tennessee whiskey.

Lindsay closed her eyes for a minute. He didn’t have to tell her that; one look at his broad shoulders, square jaw, and confident stride made it clear he was all man and… Oh, my goodness, the very last thing she should be thinking about was Blake and bedrooms.

“Okay, so maybe something for your beard?” Why didn’t she simply shut up? She motioned to one of the shelves. “I make a very nice oil with lavender, peppermint, lemon, and coconut oil. You should try it.”

“I don’t…” he began gruffly, before he swore softly and took out his wallet. “Okay, give me the damn oil.”

Blitz & Giveaway for Kissing Charlie by Elsa Winckler

Kissing Charlie
Elsa Winckler
(Unexpected Love, #1)
Published by: Inkspell Publishing
Publication date: December 7th 2021
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

One Kiss Will Change Their Lives Forever

Bowen therapist Charlie Wilson is not interested in men or relationships. Her only concern is making sure her sister Lindsay is safe.

But then billionaire Logan Johnson walks into her rooms and stirs powerful feelings inside of her. Logan’s perfectly knotted tie is a clear indication free-spirit Charlie should steer clear of him at all costs.

They are complete opposites, so why does he keep coming back to see her?

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo

EXCERPT:

“How did you hurt your back?” Her voice was cool, and she wasn’t meeting his eyes.

“While hiking,” he said curtly. He was in pain; it didn’t matter what the hell happened. “Tell me about this Wowen, Bowen, whatever the hell you call this cr—therapy.”

She gave him a cool look. “It’s called Bowen Therapy.”

“Bowen Therapy,” he said, his gaze on her mouth.

“The guiding principles of the technique were established by Tom Bowen during the 1950s. It focuses on the whole person, not just the condition. In other words, it treats the cause, not only the symptoms. It helps the body to heal and restores the balance by shifting the body from your innate ‘fight or flight’ system to a more natural state of calm.”

He watched her as she studied his body. She was holding something in her hand. Damn, she had yet to touch him, but he was struggling not to react to her nearness. The fact that he was lying on his back wasn’t helping, either.

“Natural state of calm? With you doing strange things to my body?” he grumbled, only realizing the ambiguity of his words when they hung in the air around them.

Her lips twitched.

“Oh, you think this is funny?” he snarled.

“I think you’re in pain. I think you like being in control and at the moment, you’re not. That’s why you feel the need to lash out. But it’s fine. I often have children throwing tantrums.”

“I’m not throwing a tantrum, damn it…” He tried to sit up straight, but a pain shot up his back, and groaning, he had to slowly lie down again.

“The movements in Bowen Therapy,” she continued as if he hadn’t interrupted her, “are very distinctive and are used on precise points on the body. It involves moving the soft tissue in a particular way. I will use a rolling-type movement, using my fingers, hands, or sometimes my elbow. It will create a focus for the brain by stimulating the nerve pathways and tissue. I work on only a small area, depending how far your skin can move. What you may find strange—”

“This whole damn day is strange. I don’t know what the hell my mother was thinking,” he muttered.

Blitz & Giveaway for A Captivating Touch by Elsa Winckler

A Captivating Touch: Prequel
Elsa Winckler
(Cavallo Brothers Series, Prequel)
Publication date: March 9th 2021
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Discover beautiful South Africa in this sweet, heart-warming Cinderella story about a blogger, a billionaire, and one chance meeting.

When it comes to men, if physiotherapist Caitlin Sutherland didn’t have bad luck, she’d have no luck at all. To help cope, Caitlin blogs about the men she meets and the bad dates she’d gone on.

While on duty during the annual Wines to Whales bicycle race, a gorgeous, sweaty cyclist walks in and sets her hormones dancing. But he is Don Cavallo; one of the four Cavallo brothers — hotel tycoons, famous as much for their business skills as for the number of beauties seen on their arms.

Billionaire Don Cavallo has his own issues with the other sex. He has yet to find one who is interested in him, not his money or hotels. But when this sexy physio puts her hands on his back, she not only touches his body, but also his heart.

They’ve both been burned before, but neither of them can stop themselves from playing with fire.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo

EXCERPT:

“I’m sorry, but I don’t trust a man who shaves his legs,” Caitlin said, cradling the cell phone against her shoulder while flexing her fingers. She’d been massaging cyclists for the better part of thirty minutes.

It was the end of the second day of the grueling annual Wines to Whales cycling race, which had started at Lourensford Estate in Somerset West, situated less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town. She and the other two physiotherapists on duty had not been all that busy the previous day. Only a few cyclists with minor injuries had come to see them but from their experience the previous year, they had known the second day would take its toll on the cyclists.

The physio team had been treating a steady stream of riders with back pain, knee injuries, and hip problems. When Dana phoned, Caitlin had just finished with a patient and for the moment, at least, it was quiet. The other two therapists were busy on the far side of the big tent.

“You, my friend, don’t trust men, period. There is a very good reason cyclists shave their legs; as a physiotherapist who often works on them, you should know that.” Dana giggled over the phone.

“Yes, I know shaved legs are easier to treat when there are wounds, but really? A man should have hair on his legs. It’s just a given.”

“You get to put your hands on gorgeous, virile, sexy cyclists in tight shorts and you want to complain?” Dana sounded exasperated.

“Sexy? Cyclists? Seriously? They all look the same. Underfed, sinewy, and hairless. There is nothing sexy about a man who looks like that. And virile? I don’t know about that. Sitting on a saddle all day—”

Caitlin heard a movement behind her. “Got to go,” she quickly said to Dana and turned around. And blinked. A big, sweaty, sexy, gorgeous-looking cyclist with ink-black hair and chocolate brown eyes was standing just inside the tent, his helmet tucked under his arm. If the frown between his eyes was anything to go by, he was seriously ticked off.

Without consciously thinking about it, she dropped her gaze down to his legs. They were dirty and okay, hairless, but all muscle. Sexy, rippling muscle. He moved slowly toward her, the tight shorts leaving very little to her overactive imagination.

“I’m looking for a physio,” he said brusquely.

She looked up. “I’m a physio. Can I help you?” she asked, trying to sound professional.

“If you’re quite sure you’ve finished with your fascinating phone conversation,” he said.

Swallowing a quick retort, she tried to hold back her rising annoyance. He might be gorgeous to look at, but what a rude man. She ignored the sarcastic comment and motioned him to one of the high beds on which they worked.

“Back?” she asked.

“Yeah,” he said and nodded, looking even more irritated.

“Please take off your shirt and lie down on your stomach,” Caitlin said and turned away, looking for the massage oil.

“Any pain in your legs?” she asked as she turned back to him. And nearly dropped the bottle of oil she was holding.

On the same level as her eyes was the most perfect six-pack of steel muscles she had ever seen. And if she hadn’t been holding something in her hand, she would probably have done something stupid like putting out a hand and touching him to make sure his abs really felt as hard as they looked.
