TMW_PreOrderPrice_AD3 Exclusive Excerpt: CRYSTAL FLEW THROUGH Truman and Gemma’s front door like wildfire, eating up everything in her path. Her raven mane was soaking wet, framing her beautiful, scowling face as she stormed into the living room. Her black hoodie hung open over a Rolling Stones T-shirt, and her piercing baby blues threw daggers. Her skintight black jeans had tears along her thighs and beneath her knees, revealing flashes of her tanned skin. Skin he’d like to touch and taste and have wrapped around him. She stopped a few feet from Bear and set her hand on her hip. “Give me a paintbrush, or a roller, or a goddamn gun for all I care. Just give me something and get out of my way.” They’d finished painting ten minutes ago. Bear chuckled at her vehemence. She was sexy as sin no matter what mood she was in, but this tigress before him made him want to comfort her and fuck her at once. “Hard night, sugar?” She narrowed her eyes. “Not hard enough. And I’m not your sugar. I need to work out my frustrations.” She thrust out a hand, obviously waiting for a paintbrush. He grabbed that delicate little hand and hauled her against him. His entire body flamed. Several months of playing cat and mouse was way too long. Her eyes darkened and her breathing shallowed. Bear was done messing around. This brazen beauty not only wanted him, but she needed him. She just didn’t know it yet. “What do you think you’re doing?” She spoke in a low voice and probably meant it to sound threatening, but she sounded sultry and hard to resist. He cupped her chin, brushing his thumb over her lower lip, and the air rushed from her lungs. His hand slid over her hip. She had the sleek, sexy curves of a ’61 Harley-Davidson Duo-Glide, and he couldn’t wait to rev her up and make her purr. “Giving you what you need. A wild Whiskey night is the perfect remedy for your frustrations.” “Uncle Be-ah!” Three-year-old Kennedy ran into the room wearing a Dora the Explorer nightgown and clutching the Winnie-the-Pooh stuffed toy Bear’s younger sister, Dixie, had given her. She squeezed between them. Truman had rescued his younger siblings, Kennedy and Lincoln, from a crack house after their mother overdosed. He and Gemma were raising them as their own. Crystal smirked at Bear and arched a brow. He reluctantly released her. Cock blocked by a three-year-old. “Hi, pretty girl.” Crystal gave Bear a snarky look as she crouched and hugged Kennedy. “This cuteness is all I need after a frustrating evening.” “Why are you fwustrated, Auntie Cwystal?” Kennedy still had a hard time pronouncing r’s, and the way she spoke turned Bear’s insides to mush. “I’m not anymore, thanks to you.” “I came to kiss you and Beah good night.” She gave Crystal a tight hug and kiss, then reached her spindly arms up to Bear and went up on her toes. He lifted her up, and she wound her arms around his neck. “Thank you for letting me help you paint.” Kennedy yawned and rested her head on his shoulder. “The house will be pwetty for Mommy and Tooman’s—I mean Daddy’s—wedding.” Although Kennedy and Lincoln were Truman’s siblings, when Lincoln had begun talking, he’d called Truman Dada, and Kennedy had said she wanted to call him that, too. Sometimes she forgot and called him Tooman. Bear ran his hand down her back. It was hard to believe it had been less than a year since Truman had found them. Kennedy had gone from a rail-thin, frightened little girl to a healthy, happy member of not just Truman’s family, but Bear’s, too. “You’re the best painter around, sweetheart. Thank you for helping me.” He lifted his eyes, catching Crystal watching him with a warm—interested?—look in her eyes. He liked that a whole lot. Crystal’s eyes skittered away. “Hey, Ken? Where’s Mommy?” “She’s giving Lincoln a baf.” Crystal smiled. “Want me to take you up to bed?” “Yes,” Bear and Kennedy said at once. Crystal rolled her eyes at Bear and reached for Kennedy. Bear put an arm around Crystal’s waist, ignoring her glare. “I’m escorting two of my favorite girls upstairs. Deal with it.” He guided her toward the stairs, where they ran into Truman on his way down. Truman stood eye to eye with Bear, his dark eyes moving between the two of them. His lips curved up and he shook his head. He must have read the annoyed expression on Crystal’s face, because he reached for Kennedy. “I think I’ll intervene. Thanks, guys.” After he went upstairs, Crystal said, “You can let go of me now.” “No thanks.” He kept a hold of her as she stalked back to the living room. “Want to tell me what happened tonight?” “No. I want to paint.” She squirmed out of his grip and he tugged her back. “If you think I’ll let this go, you’re wrong. Talk to me. What’s got you so irritated?” “Jesus, Bear,” she snapped. “I’m not yours. You don’t have to protect me.” He ignored her comment because she knew damn well how things worked with the Whiskeys. More importantly, she knew him well enough to know he’d never sit idly by and let her get hurt. If someone had pissed her off, he’d straighten them out. “You’re not mine yet,” he conceded. “God, you’re so arrogant and handsy and…Ugh!” She pushed away. “I just had a rough visit with my mom, that’s all.” “What happened?” Her not wanting to go into specifics didn’t surprise him. She’d always been cagey about her parents. She grabbed the ladder and dragged it toward the far wall. He took it from her, and she glared at him again. She was the most stubborn woman he’d ever known. She was also sharp, confident, and possibly the most sensitive person he knew, though she’d never admit to it. Those were just a few of the things he found utterly entrancing about her. Her arms were crossed, and he was pretty sure if it were possible she’d have steam coming out of her ears. “Can we just paint?” “Sorry, sugar, but we’re done for the night.” “Seriously?” She looked around the room, and her stomach growled. Her lips curved up at the edges as she spread a hand over her belly. Perfect. He whipped out his phone, texting Tru and telling him he was taking Crystal out for a bite to eat. “Grab your bag. We’re going out to eat.” He draped his arm over her shoulder and headed for the front door. “I’m not hungry.” He gave her his best deadpan stare. Challenge rose in her beautiful eyes. “You don’t tell me what to do.” “All right. Your stomach’s growling. Obviously you’re hungry. Let’s go grab something to eat.” She folded her arms over her chest. “That’s telling.” “Christ, woman.” She had no idea how much he adored this side of her. They’d never been on an official date, but they’d gone to grab a bite to eat spur-of-the-moment like this plenty of times. “Are you hungry?” “I could eat.” “Great,” he said. “Let’s go.” “Oh my God. Really? Didn’t anyone ever teach you how to ask a woman if she’d like to go out to eat?” “Are you telling me to ask you out on a date?” He slid his arm around her waist again and waggled his brows. “No.” She laughed. He loved her laugh. It was brazen and loud, like her. “Damn. Thought I got lucky. Crystal Moon, would you like to grab a burger with me?” She picked up her bag from the floor. “Fine. But I need to tell Gemma. You’re so bossy.” “You totally dig bossy, and I already texted Tru and told him.” “Presumptive and bossy.”
Bear and Crystal

This is a brand new author for us and I have to say that we enjoyed our first read by her. This was one of the most funniest books that I have read so far this year.

I loved the characters they were funny, engaging, smart, sexy, a super hot! This was a super cute love story loaded with humor mixed with a bit of family drama .Then throw in there  a possessive dark and sexy tattooed biker in the mix and you have a super fun relaxing read.

I enjoyed  all the characters but Bear was a favorite of mind this guy was super sweet, had a sense of humor,a big old heart, was possessive, hot, was patient, kind, understanding and just a great guy all around with tons of artistic talent.I love how he was always putting family first.I loved his interactions in and out of bed with Crystal .He teased her all the time and was constantly calling her pet names and some of them just were just hilarious.I loved how he pursued Crystal with such patience never giving up knowing she would be worth it once she gave into their mutual attraction.I love the chemistry he had with Crystal and also how playful he could be trying to get her to lower her shields and let him in.I loved how he worried about if she was always alright and gave her the space she needed as it warred against his protective nature to do just the opposite.I could not help and make the fall myself when it came to Bear as he would make any girl the perfect mate..

Crystal was outspoken, kind, sexy, talented, love able .I found her to be funny and had a sense of humor but she was also carrying around one big hefty secret that weighed on her mind.My heart went out to Crystal .I know she was trying so hard to overcome her past and how it affected her now but, every time It looked like she was moving forward she was stepping back.I felt her pain and hesitation as you know that she so wanted to move forward and find the happiness she new she would have with Bear if she could just get over her own fears.

Bear and Crystal made the perfect couple.I truly believe that fate stepped in and put each other in one another's path because Bear was the perfect person to help Crystal heal. All he had to do was love her with his warm and generous heart and be the kind and patient man that he was.I loved the sexual banter that went on between this couple how they had a way with words that gave me quite a few laughs throughout this entire story.

My favorite quotes and scenes in the book were when Bear constantly teased Harley the cat for being a cock-block way to funny had me laughing out loud more than once.

A recommend read that had a bit of humor, family and personal drama, secrets coming to life, one finding love and happiness and also one cutting ties to the things that bring you  pain and unhappiness.  All these things put together made this story a enticing fun read from cover to cover.I will be sure to read more books by this author and  I look forward to getting to know the other Whiskey brothers as well .

This goes into the keeper pile for when you are feeling and bit low and you need a pick me up. This story will have you laughing again in know time at all.

5 star read from us !

Our Review

Well what can I say another amazing read Cambria - you never fail to amaze me with your stories, I can't lie I think Tattoo has become my favorite one to date I am down right in love with Brody West. WOW the man just oozes sex but more than that, this hardened undercover cop with nothing really to live for has his world turned upside down by the spit fire red head Taylor. It didn't take long for these two to start generating sparks with each other, even under the worst of circumstances.

"You're an ass," I said when he pulled away the needle and covered the puncture with a small square of gauze.

"I don't deny it." He agreed, dropping the needle beside us and swooping in, taking me off guard yet again.

This time his lips didn't graze mine. They didn't taunt my senses. His mouth latched onto mine as if he were a seed and my lips were enriched soil, giving him a place to settle, a place to bloom and grow.

Sadly, I didn't have much experience in the kissing department, but even so, I didn't have time to be nervous or self-conscious. It was like his mouth knew exactly where to go, exactly how to move against mine to draw out exactly the response he wanted.

And the response was nothing short of devastating.

He might have been the one in control, yet I felt like everything he did was entirely about me.

Oh phew, fanning self, this was only the first of many scenes to come, and this is the mildest everyone lol so just thought I would for warn you - the steam these two generate is enough to run a sauna for sure. Brody is tough, he has never cared about anyone before, the job he did was dangerous, so he pulled away from everyone in his life, to keep them safe he told himself, but after years of what he did, you could tell after meeting Taylor he was questioning spending his life alone, but at the same time willing to give up the first time ever feeling this way, all to keep the girl safe. :) so swoonworthy.

I could not put this book down as a matter of fact I took the entire day off, yes me, I woke up this morning, opened up my kindle, sat in the recliner and other than to fill my drink or make a snack I never stopped reading, I couldn't put the book down, I had to know what happened next, would he save the girl, would he get them out of the situation they were in, would the bad guy get what he had coming to him, would Brody get the girl, would Taylor break through his tough exterior.

"Thank you," she whispered, drawing me out of my internal musings.

"For what?"

She lifted her head and looked up at me. God, I loved the way she looked at me. Like I F******* hung the moon or something. "For being here," she whispered. The side of her lip curved upward. "And for being so amazingly warm."

I tucked a strand of scarlet hair behind her ear and kissed her temple. "Drink your girly ass drink," I replied, gruff, handing her the bottle of purple Gatorade.

I leaned my head against the wall, thinking about how ape-shit crazy I was. This was a shitty, dangerous situation. I was supposed to be on vacation right now, not patching up bullet wounds with stolen medical supplies.

Even so, there wasn't anywhere else I would rather be.

See what I mean, come on, what girl would not fall for a guy like that, I mean hero through and through, but tender and caring. I love when a tough and rough guy can be cracked by the opposite sex. And Taylor does that, she cracks away at the huge wall Brody had built over the years from his dangerous seedy job.

This story is a very fast read, it never slows down, it never disappoints, it brings you into Brody's world and his fight to keep Taylor out of it and safe from it. It also shows you that there is that one person who can open your eyes and make you rethink how you have thought and lived. Taylor is that catalyst for Brody. I love the chemistry these two have. I love that Brody stands up to her father (Loved how much her dad protected his daughter - that was endearing). Brody is a no nonsense, lay it on the line, don't back down from anyone or anything, tough, rough, cop. Taylors dad is a rich and powerful man that gets his way and always scares off the guys (poor Taylor lol) and Brody stands up to him.

Oh FYI ladies the bathroom-bedroom scene - yeah turn your AC really low, turn your fan on really high, get the ice cubes because WOW!!!!!!! That is one hot, steamy, sexy, amazing scene - that is all I am going to say about that. (Oh the stairs scene towards the end - yeah pretty damned hot too!!!!)

Again Cambria - job well done - I can't wait to read the next Take It Off book.

 Excerpt
I turned away, bag in one hand, my purse in the other. Two hundred dollars in my pocket and no idea where I was going next. I just knew I had to get away. Phoenix was no option. I never looked back, never heard the truck start, never heard his voice again.
I walked out of the parking lot, down the street and down the entrance ramp to the interstate. It only took a few minutes with my thumb out for a big rig to stop. I ran up to the truck, opened the passenger door, swinging up into the cab.
“Where you headed little lady?” Drawled the driver.
“The question is where are you going?”
“I’m headed to Salt Lake.”
“Well, if you don’t mind some company I sure could use a ride.”
“If I had minded the company I wouldn’t have stopped.” He drawled again only this time with a wide toothy smile.
I threw my bag up in the sleeper, stowing my purse at my feet. I stuck my hand in my jacket pocket and felt the money. My eyes started to fill with tears.
“You OK there?”
“Yep, I’m OK. Just something in my eye.”
“Something like a broken heart?”
“You might say that.”
