Review & Release for THE TOUCH WE SEEK by S. Cole

THE TOUCH WE SEEK

S. Cole

Release Date: January 8

Meet S. Cole:

Scarlett Cole is a contemporary romance and romantic suspense author who calls both Toronto, Canada and Manchester, England home. A born city dweller, she periodically quashes the urge to live in the country by hiking up a mountain to remind herself that living away from people would terrify the pants off her.

She believes everybody deserves their love story to be told and loves her heroes on the rough and rugged side…and usually tall (because she married one of those 6ft 6” men you read about in romance!). She’s an A-type personality and Scorpio star sign, so good luck getting her to do anything she doesn’t want to.

When she isn’t writing, she’s happy to talk hot men and expensive shoes while drinking a cold gin and tonic. Don’t bring up olives. As far as Scarlett is concerned, they are the devil’s food. As long as you don’t bring up olives, she’s happy to hear from any time.

Blurb:

From USA Today best selling author, Scarlett Cole, writing as S. Cole, comes a grumpy sunshine, forced proximity, hands off clause, electrifying small town MC romance.

Wren

It was supposed to be a quick job—slip into a criminal network, steal the money, vanish before anyone noticed.

Except now, I’m wedged between a furious cartel and an unrelenting FBI agent.

There’s nowhere left to run… except straight into the arms of the last people I should trust: the Iron Outlaws MC.

Yet Catfish—the biker assigned to shadow my every move—gives me attitude and quiet understanding in equal measure.

I’ve spent my life surviving systems built to erase me.

I didn’t expect a rough-edged biker with too many scars and not enough patience to be the one who sees me clearly.

Catfish

The club got hacked on my watch. Money gone.

Now I’m stuck protecting the outsider they brought in to fix it.

Wren—a hacker with no last name, no respect, and a mouth that drives me wild.

They’re off-limits. President’s orders.

And I’m already one mistake away from getting benched for good.

But when Wren is threatened, the rules go out of the window.

They become the line I'll cross.

Because there isn't anything I won't do, to keep us safe.

I had a lot of mixed thoughts about this story. Up until this point, we were enjoying its characters and series. Looking forward to seeing Catfish being vindicated and how he would be was something we were looking forward to, as we liked Catfish; he was a good guy. After over 54 years of reading, I found that I reached something that was a hard limit for me within this story for me. I have a lot of thoughts about why we disliked this story and our struggles to finish it. Perhaps I will expound on those reasons in a separate post at a later date. I will just say this story was our least favorite in this series for us, and you can't love every book you read.
