This is a new author for us, and we enjoyed our first read by them. The author created intense emotional experiences that draw readers in and keep them engaged. Aurora, the band manager's niece, is brought in to tutor Brynn, the daughter of Sav and Levi. Aurora is trapped in an abusive marriage and finds solace and support within the band, especially from Mabel, the drummer, who has her own struggles. Mabel and Aurora's friendship blossoms into something more, as they support each other through their personal growth and healing. The story explores themes of self-discovery, forgiveness, and finding true love and acceptance. The connection between Mabel and Aurora is deep and soulful, transcending physical attraction. The book also delves into the importance of found family and the power of unconditional love. Mabel and Aurora's relationship is a testament to the transformative power of love and acceptance. The series concludes with a message of empowerment and self-love, highlighting the characters' strength and resilience. Typically, we don't read these kinds of stories, but we stepped out of our comfort zone, and we are glad we did, as this was a heartfelt, emotional read for us.
