Wow and OMG! These are the first things to come to mind when describing what I just read. This second installment of the plot blew me away. It was invigorating and heart-pounding, intense, and kept you on the seat of your pants the entire time. We loved everything about this story, the suspense, the characters, and the secrets that came to light. There were so many of them, so many traitors, unlikely allies, the intense romance between Becca and Gianni, and learning the extent of the evilness of Marcello. This plot went in so many directions, it kept you guessing the entire time who to trust, what would happen next, surprises popping up all over the place you did not see coming, and so much more. The chemistry between Becca and Gianni is undeniable; it's intense and explosive, and no matter how different they are, there is something between them that just makes sense. Dark & light, and throughout their unconventional romance, we would like to think that some of the light has rubbed off on Gianni. Although Gianni has always been truthful about who and what he is, there is something different about the man, and the love of a good woman could warm the depths of the darkest hearts. Cora Kenborn is a master storyteller for sure, and one of our favorite Mafia Romance authors; she delivers every time we are still reeling from reading this second installment. We loved being on this wild ride with Gianni and Becca. This time around, we have added Anton to our list of favorite characters. The man pulls no punches.
