This is a new author for me, and the intriguing blurb drew me to this story. I took a chance on this author, and I'm glad I did because I absolutely loved this tale filled with morally ambiguous characters. Honestly, I'm glad I read the blurb before seeing the cover because I might have overlooked this book otherwise. The phrase " never judge a book by its cover" holds true for this read.
From the moment I met Killian and Nisha, I couldn't help but fall in love with their characters. Killian exuded mystery and danger, yet he showed a different side when he was with Nisha. Their interactions, especially during their first meeting, were captivating. Nisha, despite her knowledge or assumptions about Killian, was always kind, generous, and caring towards him. She went above and beyond to make him feel safe and special, despite the nature of her job.
The chemistry between Killian and Nisha was electric, and their love scenes were intense and passionate. The supporting characters added to the mystery and intrigue of the story.
This was my kind of read—full of drama, mystery, and suspense. The story was a page-turner from the very first chapter.
