This is a well-written, action-packed mystery and is dark, raw, and gritty story that includes angst, lies, danger, suspense, intrigue, and so much more. The characters were fantastic.

Henney, also known as Henrietta, is a character who is bold, sassy, mouthy, and strong-spirited. You are drawn to her compassion, love, protectiveness, and her ability to heal others with that compassionate heart of hers. From the beginning, you get the sense that she is special, with her ability to love wholeheartedly despite knowing the darkness and heartbreak. The story is filled with secrets being revealed, betrayals from those she is meant to protect, violence, revenge, and a club with members who have paranormal abilities. The uncovered secrets are heartbreaking and intertwined with the present, where past and present collide. The men who have taken Henney as collateral are drawn to her, leading to many hot and sexy scenes, unresolved feelings, and a mix of love and compassion. These men have much in common, yet all are so different in terms of personality. Another awesome read. We are loving the aspect of these different clubs, which have different abilities that work together toward a common goal, and how you get to revisit your favorite characters over and over again. In this plot, you start to get answers, learning the players to trust and which not to. You learn about forgiveness and love of the darkness in the character's past. It was full of surprises and longing for the power of love and healing. We loved the twists and turns this tale took us on; it was one wild ride. Beware that Henney's story and that of her men are not over just yet, as it picks up in book two. This story left us with a bit of a cliffhanger, and we can't wait to see how it all plays out. Will one of them find happiness, or all of them? Only time will tell..
