Struggling to survive after my wife killed herself has been hell, and the guilt has torn me up inside.
I was barely breathing.
Nothing helped. Not my friends talking to me. Not the run-down house I bought to fix up. And definitely not the alcohol I drowned myself in every night to rid myself of the nightmares.
I missed all the signs.
I never saw it coming.
The bottle of pills she had on her that day had a permanent place in my pocket for way too long as a reminder of just how badly I’d let her down.
Then came the storm.
The pain was too much to take and all I wanted to do was end it all.
And I almost went through with it.
But then the cycle would have continued and my friends would be paying the price.
So, I escaped.
I wake every morning with a new take on life. My mind no longer revolves around the pain I once felt, and for the first time, I actually looked at another woman and wanted to kiss her.
She’s a breath of fresh air, reminding me every day that not everything in life is tragic and horrible.
We’re so insanely happy that this Hallmark romance is bound to nauseate a few people, including my boss and her best friend. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. Even her conspiracy-theorist dad made me smile the first time I met him.
Life is just perfect.
But the life I’m living is based on a lie. You can never truly escape your past. Burying the truth and pretending it never happened doesn’t actually work, and when the storm returns, sometimes, it’s like a tornado, tearing everything you love apart.
An enjoyable read in this ongoing series. We loved that Asher finally got another story. Asher has been with us for a very long time his pain and suffering and spiraling through the series has been heartbreaking and our hearts bleed for the guilt he carried concerning his wife.
Asher has moved on healed and has left his old life behind he is happy and healed. When he meets Holly who is so full of life she makes him laugh and happy. This couple has had a whirlwind romance but, it has its ups and downs, unexpected events happen, secrets come to life and old ghosts come to haunt the man once again.
We loved Holly as she could not be more perfect for Asher and is everything he could ever want in a woman. We loved Holly's bestie she made us laugh time and time again we even loved her crazy family crazy in a good way.
Overall we love this tale the surprises this author threw our way we did not see coming. Wow! We are a little bit torn and would love to see Asher return to the fold at OPS and Holly would fit in just fine with the wives but, we love seeing him so happy in the life he has created for himself now.
As much as we loved this heartfelt tale we missed the cast of the OPS characters. We not saying there weren't any but, we can't believe Fox never graced the pages with his antics. Missed laughing out loud time and time again from his antic alone. Just wished the team was more involved in this storyline because we missed them.
A fun read filled with great characters, witty banter, and love. We are looking forward to seeing what happens next. If I have to hazard a guess I don't think we have seen the last of Asher with the twist that took place of what they believe to be true then they will need all hands on deck to save the life of Cash not just his soul...

I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.
