Liza McKnight and Dare Barron

This was an emotional tale get your tissues ready. The characters are damaged and lost. Liza's brother deals with his emotions by drinking and is constantly in trouble with the law. 

These characters have a past with one another and Liza and Dare even had a crush on one another once upon a time but, neither has ever acted on it. The dynamics of their situation have changed and Dare comes to aid Liza when she is in need of protection as someone's past has caught up to them.

 

We loved the story it reads like an enemies-to-lovers story for Dare and Liza but, being in close proximity to one another gives them a chance to act on all those secret feelings they have had for one another. These characters had some awesome chemistry together. 

Overall we enjoy this small-town romance that was emotional had a bit of suspense had a cast of great characters and the banter that went on between them we really enjoyed. The story could be heavy at times and emotionally raw. 

The characters were working to heal needing to let go of their pasts and their guilt. The story took some twists and turns and we always love when that happens. This was a great addition to this ongoing series. It was a heartfelt read as well when you're dealing with someone who has an addiction makes life even more complicated and sometimes you have to travel the hard road to find love and happiness but, in the end, it will be well worth it. What an emotional rollercoaster this one was,.We loved it.
