We really enjoyed Perfect Enemy! It was an emotional read. Cove has been best friends with Haven since a very young age and wouldn't you know it she has a crush on her older brother who turns out to be 20 years older than her. They had a falling out and those feelings quickly faded. When trouble finds her and the couple meet again. 

Jace is a man who has been in the military and has demons from his past. A turn of events has brought these two in close proximity once again. Jace's past was such a heart-wrenching story it broke our heart. Jace becomes her protector but, it was only a matter of time before they confess their feelings for one another.

The chemistry between this couple was beautiful and awesome. Loved the tension and build-up between this couple as they made the change from friends to lovers and the slow build-up before the explosion.

The characters were great. The story was full of angst and suspense and had a lethal grumpy retired military hot guy. Cove was a fierce little one who has a stubborn streak. This couple made such an awesome pair and as you turned the pages their age gap became a distant memory.

Never a dull moment in this story that turned into one heck of a page-turner. Loved it. This was a new author for us and we really enjoyed this story and can't wait to see what she has in store next. Love when a story has a character so damaged and complicated that it just tears out your heart love the emotion a story like this brings tears to the reader's eye.
